When you speak of "business" most of us in Reno remember when "Cabelas" came to town with their take on "business" and gave the residents the shaft... and things have only gotten worse year by year... development killed the outlook on the Biggest Little City.
Can you please expand that more? How did development kill the outlook?
@@LivingInRenoTahoe The constant expansion of Reno and outlying areas will see the same demise that 2008 saw. This constant dream of tech, innovation and supposed economic growth is a pipe dream that you and others promise but when it plateaus and subsequently crashes - none of you are around have your lives upturned by the result of it. How long have YOU been in Reno-Sparks/Washoe County? I hear something about Sommersett and I remember when it was being "developed".
@@rongray4118 you need to watch more of my videos. I have been here 35 years and have seen it all. The growth and the pros and cons of it. I have also been in real estate since the late 90’s so I have seen the good the bad and the ugly with that too. Reno and Northern Nevada have grown a ton and it’s not all great but I think we have done much more good then bad.
@@LivingInRenoTahoe Then you arrived here around the same time I arrived here. Our viewpoints are very different. Your being involved in real-estate sums up your perspective succinctly. Your interests are in expansion - whether it is houses planted 20' apart or level after level UP. It is all about square footage - now I better comprehend why you paint pictures on walls (in minds) so you can create your own perspective. I get it.
@@rongray4118 I love how you think you know me and judge me based on my job and industry. People keep moving here and we need housing for them. I just try and provide them all the information they need about our area and a person they can call for facts and details. You and I are ok disagreeing about what it’s like to live here and how the growth has affected it. I personally have no we built a home, worked for a home builder or any company that has built an apartment or any other place for someone to live. They get built because they are needed. Happy to discuss this with you. Reach out to me. Have a terrific day and week.
Fuck off, we're full!
Somerset is earthquake Central. Extremely dangerous
I recently vacationed in Reno. Pros : Warm climate, Museums ,casinos and beautiful mountain scenery. Cons: Uncontrolled homeless problem, Many mentally ill people shouting and following passersby, Traffic congestion in the city and suburbs, Expensive cost of living.
“30 year local” that helps destroy the culture of Nevada. You’re a transplant
These realtors making these videos would pimp their kids out for a buck
This guys is probably rich so he enjoys reno more than all of us
Watch my videos and I have lived here since 1989 and worked for everything I have received. Also I am starting a money and finance channel so I am happy to talk and see how I can help you get RICH too.
Trust me this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about I’m trying with all my might to move out of this city
So where is this amazing city you are going to move too? Every place has their issues but northern Nevada is awesome to Me.
Also let’s get together on camera for 15 minutes and we can discuss.
I got one word for you winter
Dude, put up a drone and get some original stock footage. Most of what you show is clearly nowhere near Nevada.
We do our best to get all local footage but I am on a budget. lol
I moved to Reno 30 years ago and was there for 2 years. I'm heading back to visit in September and looking forward to seeing how everything has changed.
Love your content. My wife and I are considering a move, and your videos have been so helpful.
Thanks for letting me know and please reach out with any questions. I am happy to help. Have the best day.
You suck!
Not a fan of this format
5:30 - my wife and I are both from Reno and went to Washoe public schools. I went to Reed and she went to Reno high. I completed a Masters in Economics and she went on to get her PhD in Chemistry. Don't pay attention to the rankings. You get out of the school system what you put into it.
Thanks for sharing and absolutely. Could not agree more.
Californians need to stop moving to Red States and voting for progressive policies they escaped from
Your honest insights about living in Reno are so helpful and refreshing! Thanks for sharing your 30 years of experience and providing such a clear picture of life in this unique city. Great video! -Macy (Team Evan)
Thank you very much. We keep trying to spread the good word about Reno.
Wish you wouldn't. "The rent is too damn high!" That's a new york/snl ref but also the rent is too damn high.
I’ve lived in Reno for 23+ years. My family was bi-coastal (SoFlo and SoCal) and I can say without any hesitation that compared to those locations I think the traffic in Reno is a slice of heaven. But I’d hate to see it progress into a/the SoFlo or SoCal nightmare. We need to control growth and not let our representatives allow it to grow ramp-idly. To many outside opportunists looking for a ride on the backs of our good people (tax payers) could make this beautiful sweet spot a place to run from not run to.
Just please pay attention while driving, I understand the urge to text but please don’t I don’t want to be hurt and I don’t want anyone else hurt. So if visiting or moving her just drive safely is all I ask
That’s a fair request. I agree with you.
Don't move to Reno, the people are very low class everywhere you go. The only reason they have a pot to piss in is because Californian's moved there and jacked up their real estate prices. You're welcome.
I already pronounce it ne-va-duh.
Perfect.
I used Bank Rate and it says that housing is 33% higher in Reno-Spatks. This is not correct or the way this is calculated is flawed for buying a house. Reno-Sparks is 85 to 105% more. I am comparing Reno-Sparks to El Paso, TX. I am comparing my 1500 sqft 4 bd 2 bath and two car garage.
How much is your house there and what is the age? We are more for sure but double sounds like a lot.
dont not move here
I'm aiming to move to carson city, but I'll probably need to commute to reno for work. I can't even find a job there from outside the state to start the process. Wish me luck 😢 lol
Keep me posted and reach out anytime. Happy to see how we can help you.
You forgot to mention the huge surge of Sacramento/Bay Area morons flooding the town and causing a majority of accidents. 90% of the time someone does something stupid on the road, they have Cali plates. Oh and don't even think about owning a house near town. If you make around $20-$30 an hour, your market is maybe a trailer home in Fernley if you're lucky.
As someone who transplanted close to 15 years ago from Cali. JUST DON'T BRING YOUR SHIT IDEALS AND VOTING WAYS WITH YOU! thats how you ruined your own state. Keep commifornia where it is.
Strong opinion and I think most. Long time Nevada residents would agree.
What is Murphy’s neighborhood development called?
I never know the exact name of it either. lol.
Simply put: Californians have ruined reno
This dude is a liar. We can’t afford a home because of the fucking Californians
I have had the privilege to live in many places around the US (Reno, Seattle, NJ/NYC, and San Jose) for work and have seen many different "traffic" patterns. Reno doesn't have "traffic", it has traffic lights. It takes 30 minutes to go 12 miles because there is almost no route that doesn't have a serious congestion of traffic lights. No other place I have ever lived or commuted within I have spent so much time due to lights. Everywhere else has multiple non-stop methods of getting around town. Hot take, Pyramid Highway should have no lights and no left turns. It should operate similar to highway 22 in NJ or 99 (Aurora) in Seattle. This would greatly speed up traffic to have these thoroughfares.
Very interesting comments. In appreciate your thoughts.
Not good advice at all. Although both are adjustable rates, your credit card is probably two times the interest rate of your HELOC using your HELOC to consolidate debt is perfectly fine if you have a plan actually pay more than a minimum payment. Don’t close your credit cards.
What we are saying is people Should not be using their homes equity over and over to fund a lifestyle they cannot afford. I see this happen way too much and then they sell their home they have way less equity then they should because they charged all sorts of things to their credit cards. For most people credit cards are a dangerous thing and keep them done financially.
From California still hate Reno!
Hate is such a strong word. I get it if you don’t like it here but you can try somewhere else.
You should have seen it before the roads. It was really beautiful
Going to have to be in the right area where there’s cash flow. Risky to leverage up even more.
Try I-95 in N. Va. The mixing bowl. The armpit of traffic nightmares. 20 yrs behind traffic patterns.
Great comparison! Your insights on Reno's traffic vs. California gridlock are super informative. Keep up the awesome content! -Macy (Team Evan)
Make sure you have ALL of your healthcare "ducks in a row" before you move to northern NV.
Tell me know. What do you know that we are not discussing?
Dude stop your just screwing over the lower income people☹️
Again another comment with no context and you know nothing g about me. What does that even mean? Because I help people buy and sell real estate and I talk about all the best things about our area I am screwing people over, seriously. I help everyone and anyone try and own a home and help their financial situation. I can help you too.
We are in the Last Stand up here in Reno... the only place to build is going to be UP if things continue the way they are going.
I don’t disagree with you and growth is tough. We will see how it goes but growth is going to keep happening so I hope we can do it well.
@@LivingInRenoTahoe I remember The Biggest Little City in 1991... it was quaint and fun. I am hoping we can grow into the new pants but it is quite chaotic to get there!
Reno is a shithole😂😂
My son went to UNR he never came back.
Me too. Thats how I got here. lol.
