I loved that so much!! No wires or crazy building! Easy, pretty and comfy. I have watched so many of these videos since 2018 and yours is my fav! Love your potty system, your wool fabric for insulation and your pretty fabric colors! Also great ideas to visit local libraries and senior centers!! I'd say you were HOUSEless but not homeless. ❤

I’m moving into my Nissan rogue in a few days to pay off all my debt. I am on a fixed income. I’m 70 years old and I’m gonna head back towards the northwest and get away from Oklahoma where I can hardly breathe here. It’s so humid and hot.

Great video! Do you know what this unit weighs and also is there another way to charge the unit or is that just solar? Also would love to see a video of your van. Is it a transit medium or high top etc.? Looks awesome😊

Hi Sandy, Great questions. They are all answered in the video. It is a Medium Roof Ford Transit. It weights 52 lbs and you can watch me move it. It charges three ways: solar, wall, and DC. And, yes indeed - my van tour is kzread.info/dash/bejne/nolht5WQmtefYJc.htmlsi=5gJwlyn-HHkzInfn&list=PLjvNc7mtmvhgQztnO-iK997e3CXcofWXe. Enjoy!

In the minivan I do not cook inside with flames. I now have an electric kettle and a Dezin electric pot and a solar generator, before I got this system I only cooked outside with my propane or backpacking stoves. In January in Texas the wind was so strong I had a heck of a time cooking a warm lunch at a rest area. I now have a 100w ridged briefcase solar panel ans a DC cord as well as the Ac cord so I can recharge my solar generator. Electric is a game changer for vehicle travel, in smaller vehicles. I still use my propane 2 burner and outdoor kitchen, but it is great to be able to cook inside on windy or bad weather days. On a recent trip to take my mother to a grands wedding, it was nice to be able to bring my electric kettle into a hotel, for hot tea before bed and coffee and hot oatmeal for breakfast. Batteries and solar have come a long way over the last 20 years. I was not too upset when the shed on my camping lots was recently broken into and the old ratty, unsafe gasoline generator was stolen... I was more angry about the damage to the shed and the fact that we waist money on security that can not catch thrives that spend hours breaking into a shed in broad daylight. Good job... It always amazes me what people will sale their soul for. I fixed the shed doors and placed the osage orange tree branches around the perimeter of my lots to detour trespassing. I will be bring some black locust tree trimmings from home base for further fortifying, because those thorns are over an inch long and mildly poisonous , but don't seem to bother the wildlife. 😄

That’s a great question. I have not heard anyone mention the driving being very different, but I also am not finding anything about this on the internet. My gut tells me that the low center of gravity of the vehicle helps. Could you call the high top company? Thanks for asking!

Doesn't matter how happy she seams, she has children....and if this would be my mother, she would have a room in my place and she would get money if she wants to travel in the van that she can buy gas. What selfish children! Poor woman! She has no money at all, and works sometimes to heat her van.... Unbelievable! God bless her!

Persons who are priced out of the housing market, are classified as homeless in order to get a clear picture of the need across the nation. It is important to be counted so that cities and states can allocate funds for shelter and review housing policies. One contributer to the lack of housing is the rise of Air BnBs. Cities like Eureka Springs can no longer meet the need of local workers to have housing because the beautiful, historic cottages are all BnBs.

Thank you for sharing so generously. The 'invisible homeless' you describe is also a phenomenon here in Australia, with the fastest growing demographic being older women. This is the same demographic most likely to have nurtured children or other family members and volunteered in their schools and local community organisations. Yet a good proportion of them are not living in their vehicles by choice. They have been let down by societal and government values that continually take. We are in an age of corporate colonialism. Kudos to you for coping with the lows and celebrating the highs.

  • @krispavek221

I wonder how this is going to turn out. In Thailand and Nicaragua, I observed entire communities of self-built shelter using scraps. Here in the US, there are millions of vacant buildings and abandoned malls, entirely vacant schools and hospitals. Yet we will not let the homeless avail themselves of the opportunity to use them for shelter.
