How was this for comfort given your height and what bikes are best for 6’3 riders have you found?
It was a while ago now, but i think it was pretty comfy. The best bikes I’ve found for my size lately have been the KTM 1090 Adventure, Yamaha Tenere 700 and the Aprilia Tuareg 660 (which i now own).
Nice clip, what helmet is that
Cheers! It’s a Nishua Carbon Enduro.
Love when you speak Norwegian. Almost spot on😅 Hope you will come back again in the summer sometime and do the Trails. Great channel!
Haha! Now i KNOW you’re pulling my leg! I’d love to come back as soon as possible for another try! Cheers!
Isn't that what life is all about, getting comfortable with feeling uncomfortable...
Absolutely! That, or learning how to look like you’re comfortable until you actually become comfortable! 😆
Looks like your splashing the cash in Norwegian accomodation is it cheaper doing the wood huts or can you find cheap BnBs😊
Been easier to just remove the mud guard
But then who would have held the mudguard still?
That's why off road is so restricted. Is still spring on the mountains and summer is short. It's so fragile.
I know only too well! I’d only i hadn’t been so keen to get there, i might have actually seen some of the trails! 🤣
Ako tako svira dan i noc pa mještani će da izlude!
Another great adventure thanks Andy. The trouble and strife is doing her bike course this week so perhaps I will get out and about a bit more. Still I don’t mind living vicariously through your adventures one bit.
Cheers Pat. Happy to oblige until you’re out there doing it together! 👍🏻
Missing these “pandering/ accessory” vids especially as I’ve swapped back to a naked bike
Sadly there has been very little pandering or accessorizing of late!
@@AndyManCam “pandering?” …. autocorrect didn’t like “spannering”
@jimmyrottencauli haha! Come to think of it, i did fit a Scottoiler to the Aprilia, so that’s on the way.
Nice one Andy, am glad you were able to salvage some trails out of all the closures, stunning place to play bikes!
Cheers Pete! Yeah, it wasn’t a total loss, thankfully! Truly beautiful place for getting dirty though.
Oh that was a blast! Really nice views and roads. Awesome. But seeing the heated gear is a bit funny at the moment 😅. I'm sitting in a hotel in Romania after riding one week and sweating at 39°C. Looking forward to the next section of the ACT while thinking about marrying the air condition... Hope to see your next section of the TET Norway! I really like that series.
Cheers very much! I know what you mean. We just got back from Romania. Rained on the way in, 35° on the way out! WAARRRMM!!
Another thoroughly entertaining vid to add to the series, Andy.
Thanks very much Jim! 👍🏻
Great video and actually laughed out loud at "sit down wee" 😂 I noticed your throttle lock. Would you recommend? I have a 2011 Street Triple and suffer with buzzy/numb hands when covering longer distances so would be nice to shake it off like Taylor Swift every now and then
We all need the psychological boost that a sit down wee can provide from time to time! I highly recommend the ATLAS Throttlelock. It performed flawlessly and made the motorway sections feel a lot Swifter (see what i did there!? 😜)
You’ve seen more of Norway than me the Norwegian now. Maybe I’ll try this next spring?
Haha! My German wife says the same about Germany! 🤣 Definitely give it a go AFTER the first week of June!
Really enjoyed that Andy! Cracking vid. 👌
Thank you most kindly Dave! 🙏🏻
Hi Andy, hope you are well? Another great video of you and your lovely 1090. You must have inspired me as after selling the GSA, I bought an enduro bike, and have just bought a 1090R as my road/light off-road bike. I am a fan of the LC8 V-twin engine, and this doesn't disappoint. Scott. 👍
Very well thanks Scott! Congrats on the 1090R! Tremendously good machine! That motor is a pleasure.
Another nice video Andy! Any content on the Aprilla in the pipeline as well? 🙂
Thanks very much Walter! You bet your @55 there’s Aprilia content in the pipeline! 😎 A week in the UK, a weekend with The Likeable Rider and 10 days riding to Romania and back, are all waiting to be edited!
Great comparison Andy, to my eyes, the GoPro 12 was a lot more washed out and less depth of colour than the OSMO Action 4 Side-by-Side was easiest comparison.
Many thanks! I tend to agree Graeme. The shame for the Gopro was that it consistently over exposed the image, potentially causing or exacerbating that washed out picture. Sadly i didn’t realise until it was too late, plus adjusting would have negated the ‚out of the box‘ testing methodology. Ultimately, what’s important is what your eyes see and how you like it! 👍🏻
Spent 8 hours today on my Harley, now I get to watch Andy in Norway! Great day 😊
Nice bike heavy day! I like it. Cheers!!
Hi Andy, what did you do to your bike to gain an extra 25 ponnies?
It was more what i did to remove the 25 ponies to begin with. In rain mode the power is reduced to 100hp. So in sport mode, the bike was back at full power.
Man I love this series!
Thanks very much Hannes! Glad somebody loves it! It’s proving to be one of the less popular ones! 😅
@@AndyManCam haha no problemo! Maybe it's the hot weather outside (continental europe), many factors can be at play here. I even thought about switching to a 1050/1090 Adventure yesterday evening because of your videos 😅
I would still wholeheartedly recommend a 1090 to anyone. Loved it and exciting these videos just makes me miss it all over again! The Aprilia is of course even better still (for me), but the 1090 is close second. I think it is the perfect storm of the KTM big adventurers. No unnecessary gadgetry to go wrong. An understrained and relaxed motor. Simple suspension and huge comfort. Almost perfect!
Well hello there Andy hope your well sir!
Hey Kev. Still fighting the good fight mate, keeping the chin up! You?
@@AndyManCam yeah, I went on a tour of the north of England with Bruce and Simon (chicken strips) was Ace, the bike coughed up an engine error, went over the Humber bridge and hardknock pass (Phew! What a road) videos to follow soon
@Doddsy-IoM very nice! Hope the engine error was nothing serious!
@@AndyManCamfrom what my regular mechanic has said, “it’s possible that it may need new spark plugs and or air filter” as the bike labours at low engine speeds or idle.
A very unexpected Thursday night treat Andy. At least when you have to reverse a route everything is the other way around as it were... The late KTM still looking good. Suffering post tour blues so just what I needed, roll on part whatever it is ..
Always happy to surprise and entertain Steve! The KTM was a fine machine. I kind of miss it a bit! Next one is on the way!
Nice Andy. You have to do TET Norway in the summer. You have mist out on many scenic places mate.
I know that now 😔 Can’t believe i went 2 weeks too early!! I thought there’d be less traffic and everything just for me. WRONG!!
@@AndyManCam To be fair, you'd think going in June WOULD be summer!!? ;) :(
Another lovey bumble Mr Mancam and great that you actually got a bit of off roading in. Amazing views, bleak but amazing….
Cheers John. It was good to finally get a bit more dirty action! Even if it was bleaker than a Siberian eclipse!
@@AndyManCam 🤣🤣
Ooo goodie a nuther ride😊😊
There’s always another ride on the way! 😉
Just out of curiosity was wondering how much they charge you to go to track
It was about 30€ for one lap, so probably a couple of quid more now.
@@AndyManCam cool thanks for responding
@chrisdadigger1018 my pleasure!
Just put them my Tiger 900 after running Dunlop Trailmax MIssions. I’m in Idaho where it’s 80% gravel. My confidence level has at least doubled. A bit noisy on pavement and perhaps a bit squirrels as well. I’m not after scraping pegs so not a big issue.
I don’t have much to compare to, but i felt the same. Very solid in the loose stuff, but squirrely on wet tarmac but overall a great tyre for getting it done!
got mine some day's ago, realized i got to remove the passenger grab bars on my fz8, now i got open holes by the passenger seat... Time to get out the 3d scanner i guess
Aaah, what a wonderful time we live in, when you can quickly knock up some custom trim parts!! 😍
Would have been nice to see the buckle of the wheel!
Love the dry humor on pipes
clean
revisited this post COVID what a loverly sound track.
Exciting video. Glad I watched
Yeah, best idea for riding Norway - always always find the old ways over the mountains or around the ferries if possible. They're bound to be mind-blowing. But yeah... don't speed, that's jail time, and watch out for sheep. 😂
You sir are a star. I had just done my throttle bodies and the damn thing wouldn't start. I pulled it apart again but when I tried it again I turned the ignition on and off couple of times to build fuel pressure and it started. That convinced me it was the pump. I searched for a KZread clip to see how to do that job and found this video. On inspecting the bike. guess what, Bingo.
Very hastig to have helped John! KZread is the gift that just keeps on giving, eh?! Happy riding!!
Awesome explanation, subscribed!
Thanks! Happy to be of service!
I got lucky; I actually managed to visit Norway in the middle of summer and got a literal week of heat and sun, which is basically not a thing in Norway. Trollstigen was an incredible experience, but not an incredible ride - there were buses and shit all the way up (I rode it in the other direction than you did at first in this video). No doubt the incredible weather contributed, the place was jam packed with buses, cars and motorcycles. Your visit was comparatively empty. With my fear of height and only some pointy rocks between me and death, I was a bit stressed out, ngl. 😂 Still, Norway... quite possibly the best place in the world to ride motorcycles. Just bring rain gear. And don't speed, if you want to not do jail time while broke from fines.
That was lucky! TBH i count our trip as being very lucky too. Into every tour, a little rain must fall! We were also pretty lucky with the traffic too, though dusty weather and early starts really helped!
Old video, but I wanted to ask what you thought about the Tracer 900 vs the FZ1, since you have ridden both. I had an FZ1 for a while and absolutely loved it. Do you think the Tracer 900 is the natural evolution of the FZ1 style bike from yamaha? Which would you choose?
I really enjoyed the Tracer 900. i wouldn’t necessarily say it’s the natural evolution as it was quite different. Very different power delivery and riding position. As I’m now a convert to the adventure bike, I’d probably go for the tracer for better comfort and a more torquey low end. Plus the CP3 sounds fantastic. But either would make me very happy! The newest tracer 9 made far less sense to me though. Looks great, but was uncomfortable, odd equipment spec and the motor felt somewhat breathless.
@@AndyManCam Thanks for the reply, youve been making great videos for a while so I definitely appreciate your opinion. I am on my way to the adventure bike as well, I am 198cm and scrunched over on a Z900rs at the moment. Hard to beat that CP3, but I agree about the new tracer, the engine is long in the tooth for the heavier platform, weird array of radar cruise control and gadgets but doesn't have the older generations pep. Thanks again, ride safe!
Who designed this and when
Wow !!!
why you mount sensor on arm and not on rod?
Because that’s what the instructions say to do.
Most Honda inline 4 seems to have this nasty buzz and vibration around the 5000-6000 rpm range. I've seen this first hand on CB650F, and have heard it exists on CB650R.
I heard somewhere (unconfirmed) that Honda didn’t bother with balance shafts, to reduce cost and complication. Not sure if it’s true, but the buzz was angry and spoiled a great bike for me. Could also be fueling as it seemed less with high octane fuel.
Why use the dedicated usb unit. Why not simply sim next a usb outlet to one of the spare terminals in the supply unit.
You could. But I used this one because Healtech sent me the USB unit with the Thunderbox and I‘d sooner trust their electronics than any no-name, 10 € USB charger that you can buy on Amazon. I’ve since upgraded to an Optimate O108 USB charger. Quality bit of kit with more power than the Healtech one.
Another quality video. Amazing scenery and really well shot! How’s the Aprilia going?
Thanks very much! The Aprilia has just excelled itself on a 6000km trip to Romania. Videos are naturally en route!
Poltergeist ?
🤷🏼
Mine came with the Aprilia hard cases, top box etc. have to say they are good but wow, expensive
Just bought one Andy, one year to the day I tested it at ABR, on road only
Congrats! It’s an absolute weapon even if it’s only on the road! Enjoy!!
This is got to be the best review of the CB1000R. Well done Mate! Cheers.
Many thanks indeed! 🙏🏻
