About how much sauerkraut liquid will a quarter jar produce? I would like to use the liquid to make a keto/paleo friendly sourdough bread.

Hi what is the Name of the Canadian company Thanks
Om Foods!
Bout to make this, I’ll update when it’s done
Pork medium rare?? 😢
It might sound wrong, but pork should be cooked medium to medium rare for optimal juiciness. Between 145-160ºF is the sweet spot. I know some people like cooking their meat until it's well done, but for juicy pork chops, that's the temperature range you want.
@@VintageKitchenVixen im thinking more of food poisoning we are always told to cook fully to avoid it
Dear when your clothes freeze go out with a broom handle and beat the ice off the clothes. That is how it's done in Alaska in the 1800s.
So that’s how it’s done! Thank you for sharing :)
Hi I grow thyme lemon balm and basil
Amazing! Those are all so wonderfully fragrant.
Hello, thanks for sharing how you use violet. Letting the leaves set a day before infusion made sense. As for the ice cream I thought the end result of violets throughout was pretty. I would have made a violet ripple using a very thick violet syrup. After making vanilla ice cream and drizzle on top or slowly stirring it through soft ice cream( maybe with a skewer) For loose tea I use a glass tea pot that looks like a cup sold by Golden Moon Tea. It has a strainer at the top. After steeping I just pour out the tea. No bag, no metal, easier than a tea ball.
A violet ripple ice cream sounds amazing!
I use raw honey and dont want to heat the honey since it ruins the structure. Kills the good stuff i believe.
Thank you
Does the oil keep the violet fragrance?
No, not really. Violets have such a sweet and subtle fragrance that it gets lost in the oil.
Thanks for this Great Info. Does this App work on Kindle Fire?
The app is available for Android devices through Google Play, but if you don't have Google Play on your device, you won't be able to download it.
Thank you kindly for your reply. FlyLady has certainly come a long way with her offerings! I knew of the APP but did not know it was free until this video.. I can deal with apps and phones and such.. I will attempt to download it on my kindle... In the meantime I downloaded it after this tutorial ..She is definitely my go to when the relapse happens 💯💯@@VintageKitchenVixen
I only use french press, and tea bags too 😊❤

I’m so glad to hear it!! ❤️
If you double the sugar, the syrup will last longer.
Great tip! Thank you for sharing 😊
Hopefully you have been doing well
Doing well, just busy with the little ones! I’ll be posting new videos soon 😊
@@VintageKitchenVixen well that is good. 🤗 in period dress of the 1940's? 😏
Love this video! One question I have is, how do I know how many parts of each herb? Does it matter, is it a taste preference?
Came here to ask the same question!!
It’s mostly a taste preference. Yarrow, for instance, has a medicinal taste, so I always put in an extra part of peppermint or spearmint to help mask the flavour. I’m not a fan of the taste of licorice root, so I’ll double up on other parts so it becomes more of sweetener than an overpowering flavour. More often than not, I’ll do an equal ratio of whatever I’m blending unless there’s something I’d really like to shine in the blend. Hope that helps!
I make steelcut oats in the slow cooker. I use a timer & set to 4 to 6 hours on low. (Varies according to the type of cooker). I usually use half milk, half water. If using milk, i will either butter the bottom or use a pan spray. Sometimes i add dried fruit. I like oat groats even better. (Like steel cut but the kernels are left whole) i cook those for 6 to 8 hours. The slow cooker is very forgiving & even if you cook it longer than necessary, it doesn't get mushy. And yes, i do use milk when i use a timer as the milk won't spoil in that short time before it starts cooking. I love the smell when i wake up the next morning.
Looks delicious I've been searching for this one
I must make this! Our son was married in Germany on New Years Eve! & what a feast! My favorite dish is Sweet & Sour Short Ribs of Beef with Dumplings + red cabbage, requested every year on my birthday :D
That sounds delicious!
The Whirley Pop price shocked me! There is no way I paid even half that amount years ago for one. And it is made from aluminum. Headaches and Alzheimer material.
I got mine as a gift over a decade ago and completely forgot that it’s made out of aluminum! I still love it though and would have a hard time parting with it 😅
Heads up: If u make a batch of White Chocolate Chip cookies, sometimes the cheaper brands will use vegetable oil. I premixed a double batch in a glass jar, then moved, and when baked they had a rancid taste.
Oh, gross! I know, they sneak seed oils in just about everything 😒
Love the recipe, music, and overall video. I will be making some burgers tonight and keeping hydrated of course! 🍺
Well done! Thanks!
Looks delicious.
good morning quick question on the reusing the beans for more extract. I presently have a 8c/ 8oz going want to wait a year. My question is when time comes how should I do the second batch to come out just as strong, should I do 8c / 4oz new 4oz old bean? Ty
Hi! I usually don’t measure mine, but I would probably do 8c/6oz new bean and 2oz old bean. The more new beans you can do, the richer your extract will be. Hope this helps!
@@VintageKitchenVixen Aaahh thank you, happy new year.
I am a historian, and i collect old cookbooks... i learned loads here. Thank you so much ❤
I’m delighted to hear it! Thank you for watching ❤️
Does this app have offline mode? I don't always have access to internet and need a digital app that can be used offline. Of all the productivity apps, this one is the easiest to use, but it will be useless during the times when I have limited internet access.
I don’t believe it does. The app doesn’t load any of the checklists when it’s offline.
@@VintageKitchenVixen thanks! I kind of thought that was the case. I did figure something out, I think my Samsung Notes pad can be used of- line, so I can create lists on my notepad for my Cabin home, using the same kind of lists as on the app. I will need to create a completely different schedule for the cabin anyway.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I nearly always save vegetable water. I use it in soups, gravies & sauces. It always adds better flavor than plain water :)
🤢margarine is fake food, for me & my family Real traditional foods only!😊
100% a fake food!
When out if eggs in bakeing 1T say flour 1T water per 1 large egg. Yournmuffins and pancakes will conenout fine! ( I have a child who is alergucbto chicken eggs.
Oh, interesting! I didn’t know you could sub an egg with flour and water. Thank you for the tip!
I use soy flour + water to replace an egg in muffins. The fat and protein profile of soy flour is similar to egg.

Hello Sylvia! I just discovered your channel today! I've been watching your German recipes and then I decided to subscribe while watching this video. Looks like you have been doing this for awhile, so I will have to catch up! Your new friend and subscriber, Heide.❤
Thank you for the sweet comment! I’ve been at it for awhile, but take long breaks from time to time. I really need to post a new video soon 😅
I make my own almond milk using almonds, water, dates and vanilla extract. My blender is powerful. Instead of making extract can I simply put the whole vanilla beans in the blender?
I’ve never tried blending a whole vanilla bean before, so I don’t really know, but I know some people will blitz their vanilla pods when making vanilla sugar, so I think it’s worth the experiment!
I planted a garden then discoverd i had rabbits When life feeds you lemons..... My marksmanship has improved and now i have meat with my potatoes Thank you Thumper 😅
Be careful with wild rabbit, eating them before a hard frost they may have parasites.
