Alex Regino - The Ride Xperience
My name is Alex, I'm a certified ride leader/marshal by the Florida Bicycle Association, and I'm the founder of The Ride Xperience - a bike rental and tour business in Orlando, Fl. I first fell in love with cycling when living at a boarding school in Massachusetts at the age of 15. Spring was just around the corner and the only way I could explore the beautiful coast of Beverly was on a bike. Cycling gave me freedom and the feeling that there were no limits to what and where I could explore. Now living in one of the most visited cities in the world, my mission is to show that there is much more in Orlando than just huge conventions centers and theme parks. At the end of the ride, there is nothing more satisfying to me than to hear from my guests that our cycling experience was the best part of their trip to Orlando. Sorry Mickey ; )

Good video 👌
Does the guards at the resort gates give you a hard time about riding around the resorts?
Parabéns @Filipe pela bela aquisição …
Would love to see some Scarab cycles represented! scarabcycles.com/en-us/pages/work-with-us-dealers-sales-rep
Interesting bikes, would love to do a build. Thank you for sharing
Nice. I will be looking forward to the bike build. Alex is the man to do a great job.
Nice bike 🫠
That’s my frame! It’s an absolute pleasure to deal with Alex - always a fast response and great communication. I’ll have the frameset built up with DA DI2 taken from another bike. I’ll provide an update after the build.
Please share the set up once Alex finishes. Ty
Nice looking bikes! Good to see some cheaper alternatives. I'll still take my Factor though 😂
The sign 🪧 works because I found your place today when driving thru CPT. D’s
Yes on the short socks 😂
Noooo!!!
Very cool.
And I liked your video keep doing video's like this
I found specialized tarmac 2015 frame with 105 Shimano group sit and it's like a new one's condition do you recommend me to buy it it's about 900 usd
Hard to tell without seeing the bike. But the specialized tarmac is a great bike
@@TheRideXperience can I send you pictures in Instagram?
Thanks for the video. Next time I'm in Orlando, definitely will try this ride.
Van Fleet is so fun! But yea the biggest thing is being prepared because it truly is in the middle of nowhere. One thing though from mile 0.0 to 2.0 I believe (marked on the ground) those roots and dipped holes are no fun 🥴
A while back you did a video about your new shop, and maybe user suggestions for products or services. I am surprised you do not have at least a few mid-spec carbon gravel bikes for rental given how huge gravel riding has gotten in the area, especially being in proximity to Lake Apopka which you can get to right from the bike trail. As you know, development in the area has been getting pretty crazy the last few years. Road riding down the formerly wonderful farm roads is getting progressively more crowded and dangerous, hence the big shift to gravel. You may or may not know, but there is hundreds of miles of gravel riding in Green Swamp, which can all be accessed via the Van Fleet Trail. However, the best training grounds for very fast gravel rides is Lake Apopka which is accessible by three different trailheads dependibg on which side if the lake you live closest to. The Magnolia Park entrance is the best access point from your shop, since its just off the bike trail.
Thank you for all the insights, really appreciate it. I should be adding gravel bike soon. I have a certain number of chips to invest in the shop. Today 99% of the requests are for road bikes and there is also lot going on the shop itself. I’m sure when I have gravel bikes this will create demand and spread thought the gravel community. Gravel is something I really want to tap into.
The good news is that Route 50 road section from Van Fleet to the South Lake bike trail in Groveland which has been the bane of many local cyclists should be fixed in the next few years. They are completing the very last section of the Coast 2 Coast bike trail, and that Route 50 gap section is already being completed. They have been working west to east the last two years, and you can see the new section from the Withlacoochie bike trail which is down the road, working towards Van Fleet. And then once they get to Van Fleet, its going to run through Groveland somehow back to the South Lake trail. Yes, the water at the Mabel trailhead has been undrinkable for years. It tastes like heavy metal. The water at Green Swamp, 2 trailheads down, is potable but not great tasting. Its okay for an emergency fill up.
Great content as always 👏
Alex, thanks for taking us along on the ride. Great as usual. The Van Fleet is a good place to observe gators resting in the swap along the trail.
That route was great 🚴🏻💨
I love the Van Fleet Trail. I have spent many hours on it training on the tri bike. Easy to get aero and not have to worry about other riders or cars just a peaceful ride in the countryside.
You guys are hilarious, 35 miles an hour lol I only see flatland and no wind ! Lol😂
Little old to be a mean girl but ok
I used to live in Atlanta aka Roswell ga we used to do that with fast rolling hills on the flats over 30mph in a rotating pace line all of you would be dropped riding any type of hills in Atlanta
That’s cool bro no one asked 😂
Small men want to drag others down with their supposed accomplishments. Do better
What days of the week do y’all ride?
This ride happens on Thursday evenings 5:30 pm. We do a group ride almost every Saturday leaving the shop at 7:30 am
What kind of Square Footage are working with for the shop?
1000 sqf
were there more people there riding...that state trail is about 1hr 20min from my location but i've been to Van Fleet and i was practically alone there
Van Fleet is very isolated. This trail is very long so you will see more people depending on the location
Awesome video man! Thanks for the ride. I’m actually from Florida (Bartow) so it seems really neat to ride near Disney. I’ve lived in Atlanta Georgia now for 28 years and cycle here on the hills. Maybe some day make down to the fast flats. You guys might be a little too fast for me.😂😂😂
I’ve been to stone mountain once, I bet it’s a nice place to ride ⛰️
@@TheRideXperience Yes, I was out there today. You would love it!
Thank you very much. A very helpful video for a totally beginner like me
Rule number one: trust no one when money is involved.
Cool channel Alex. I do something similar.
Thank you! Really fun to make them
Thanks Alex. Are you going posing more details about the GFNY ride in August as the date approaches?
You can register for free on GFNY website: gfny.com/gfny-day/
I live about two minutes from one of the entrances to this trail. I frequently ride it on my hardtail mountain bike, but looking to get a gravel bike soon. I love riding into the wildlife drive and seeing all the wildlife. The lack of tree cover is brutal though if you are not riding it super early in the morning in the summer. Glad to see it featured in a video!
Cool, you live next to one of the best gravel trails in central Florida. Thank you for your comment 🤙
Top tier vid! Great footage and seriously, chatting while riding without a bunch of cuts is admirable! But balancing your water amount and the humidity is an extra challenge out here in Florida but it’s satisfying when you master it and can survive this summertime environment!
Thank you ☺️
Where is grove land I live in Sarasota
Sarasota is pretty far, about 2hr drive
i love riding my fixed gear....been looking for a level bike path that close to home....also been avoiding any local road....its hard to gain speed when there's some stops and turns....i leave close to Kissimmee...and i just go to Winter Garden and just do a 4 mile loop....do you have any recommendation close to this area....just wondering
Another trail would be the Cross Seminal trail in Winter Park
@@TheRideXperience I have ridden the most on the The Cross Seminole Trail, but not all at once on 1 bicycle. I also use that trail to connect to The Seminole Wekiva Trail. I would like to get down yonder where Alex likes to ride and make wonderful videos.
Alex, another great video. I have always loved riding around Groveland. It's on my to ride list each winter when I visit for a couple of months from Toronto.
Im moving in the next couple month to Winter Garden from Seattle I wish to join your club rides
It will be great to have you join us
Hi Alex, Is Mark from Disney Tour de Pineapple still riding today ?
Yes he is. A couple of months ago he was riding in Vietnam
This route is really good ….we can enjoy a wonderful view and great training. It was an excellent ride.✌🏻🚴🏻
✌️✌️✌️
You nailed it!
I'm visiting Tampa, clear water area. I'm staying in Wesley Chapel Florida. Is there a group that you know of doing a Saturday or Sunday Ride this week?
There is definitely groups in those areas, but I’m not aware, sorry. Maybe you can find some on facebook groups
this wasching routine would be great if it was done only one every 6 months. I would never spend too much time on so precize cleaning. or maybe was it the slow motion ;D . anyway beautiful bike. and great frame.
Is this a aero road bike or a climber bike please let us know
I believe this bike is not on either extremes (aero/climber). It has great aerodynamic features and is pretty light but not the lightest. It’s a good all rounder bike.
Lol I live vary close to that route. Your family definitely has some $
If you live close to that route your family definitely have $$. I was just visiting lol
florida has hills? 😂🤣
You’d be surprised
The best part of the ride is the pancakes at the end 🤤! Every mile I think, “Are we there yet? Pancakes🫠!” 😂😂😂
I get not wanting to give trade secrets away but I would have liked to see more about that stripped thru axle and talk about what can be done if the female threads in the frame are boogered. I have to remove my front wheel daily to transport my bike and I worry about the threads. It's an expensive ENVE fork and I fear I may have to replace the whole fork at some point.
I Might get more into specifics on future videos. But you can retap the threads, although if you grease the axle and properly insert it, it shouldn’t give you problems
Hi Alex, quite a good group ride to Clermont as usual. A shoutout for Clermont and surrounding areas. It is our number one place for biking during the winter months as snowbirds from Toronto and a visit to Regino Bikes and Alex to top it off. Looking forward to our regular visit in months time. Dinsmore & Marie
Hope to see you soon my friend
Where is your shop Alex?
We are located in Winter Garden (14219 W Colonial Dr. Winter Garden)
Good ride, really enjoyed. The shop now looks more busy!
It’s getting there! Thanks!
