Wish I had watched this review earlier. I’ve always used the Garrett Propointer, however I find they don’t last more than 6 months before being becoming erratic. Gone through about 4 of them. They’re good whilst they are working. I tried a Mine-lab next, it was hopeless. That 1 lasted only 2 months before going erratic. Now bought 2 x GP propointer, they are not sensitive at all. You basically have to be right on top of the target before it registers. They’re both destined for the bin. Looks like I might try a Fisher next!
The hair😂😂😂😂
Excellent !
Thanks!
Hard to say if you did not swing your at max over exact same ground area as signal found in video. For definitive proof, you should've brought the at max along at the same time.
That’s a good point. I had detected those properties multiple times over the years with the AT Gold. I’ve had similar experiences at other places as well. I’m convinced the Nox is a better machine.
Hello, I have Minelab Pin point 40 and it´s very, VERY moody. Yes, it can detect everything, it works well. But it will point to false targets, it´s unbehaved (while he start freaking out when I nudge into it, during sudden movement and it starts to detect something and suddenly - nothing). It´s true, when the target is there, it worked everytime on every metal. But it´s very, very annoying to constantly turn it on or of, double checking if there is something and mostly it´s false alarm. Is Garrett better than this or it has other misbehavings? Thank you!
I’ve used a Pro-Find 35 in the past. It was dependable but my go-to is the Garrett. The only real issue I’ve had is it will sometimes turn off but not detect. I simply have to restart it. I have heard other people complain about having problems with Minelab Pinpointers.
Thanks for the video!
Hope it helped! Best of luck to you!
Quite sad cuz I was thinking it could get it on the high sensitivity on like 4 inches or more
One thing to remember is the end of the tip is not the most sensitive part. The most sensitive part is about a 1/2 inch up from the tip so hypothetically, you could get a little more depth detection if it’s on an angle.
@@mdutah-insearchofmormongold Oh, alright thanks
the thing about us metal detectorists is that we actually pick up the trash and make it cleaner! ya, we can did up the ground a bit but if we are good at the unspoken rule, we will put the soil back. ;)
For sure! I definitely “collected” a lot of trash on this hunt!
How much is it and how do I get one?
They run about $139. You can pick them up on Amazon, eBay or from metal detecting dealers. A Google search should point you in the right direction.
Minelab us #1, Garrett not even close.
Garrett is great, but I really love the Nox!
Are those the sandia mountains in the back ?
The Wasatch Mountains in Utah
You didn't show a sensitivity test on the small objects. Like one grain of gold
Yeah, it’s hard to show everything. Plus, I didn’t have any grains of gold laying around lol
Seems like the Minelab Equinox 800 is the one to go with, if all those other detectors are missing all those coins.
I’ve sure enjoyed it. I’ve been back to multiple places that have been heavily detected and I still found things with the Nox.
My first machine was a garrett ace 250 , i never bought another garrett after that. Fisher , minelab , XP and Nokta all better machines.
My first was a Garrett Gold. I’ve had a lot of success with it and it’s still going strong after 11 years. That being said, the Equinox is a better machine.
Sometimes things just work well …
Yes, this is one of them!
You have to remember when everyone does these videos that say look what this found on this property I detected before HAVE to keep in mind you’ll hardly ever go over the same ground the same way in the exact location so what you didn’t pick up before may just as well been a piece of ground you didn’t go over so unless you bring the detector you used before and only after the new one hits a target then swing the old one over it if it hits then you know you just hit an undetected piece of ground 9 times out of 10 that’s the case
Good point. A lot of guys just skim properties. I’ve been over the same area multiple times with the same machine and still found things. Having used the Equinox 800 now for a couple of years, I’m still convinced it’s a better machine.
thank you!
You're welcome!
Hot rocks in Minnesota as big as a house
Interesting, I’ve just never come across them before. What threw me was they were with the cross and there was no shortage of similar looking rocks that didn’t register in the same area where I was detecting.
Hot rocks. Iron content in them. Look it up.
Yeah, someone else mentioned that. Very interesting.
Great info straight away - You get no instructions in the box.
I found them after I made the video lol. I must have set them aside and didn’t realize it. It should come with instructions!
@@mdutah-insearchofmormongold I usually have parts left over following assembly, even with instructions. 😳KZread is a fantastic resource.
Impresionante excelente hallazgo 👍🏾 emocionantes buen video
Thank you! I appreciate your comments.
love my equinox 800 .. had it from 2020 found lots of good stuff, and a lot of junk. like your style.. short , sweet straight to the point. multiple points.
I appreciate your feedback. It’s a great machine! I’ve had so much success with it.
found some myself years ago. They are called hot rocks, they usually have like veins or some type of metal material in the rock. My detecting friend also tells me there is lodestone and they are magnetic, but color black and shiny. Good hunt, seated and merc makes a good detecting day!! Those trails and water holes always give back!!
Thanks, I appreciate your comments. I tested them and they don’t appear to be magnetic. Certainly unusual though.
Are the rocks magnetized? Check for that if you saved them.
Just checked them. They don’t appear to be.
@@mdutah-insearchofmormongold maybe over time metal of cross transfered small bits to the rocks ?
@@Adventures-of-B-and-BOr something supernatural lol
Awesome finds! Congrats!
Thanks!
I’m trying to find a metal detector or pinpointer than coin alert me when there’s a silver quarter mixed in with about 100 clad quarters when spread out on a table. Do you have any suggestions?
I don’t think one exists because the clad still contains copper and I’m not aware of any that will discriminate between that and silver. You can check out my video on the Nokta pinpointer which has a feature to discriminate between ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Does the LED light stay on all the time when in use?
Yes, it’s always on when the device is on.
I have one and don’t know how to sell it
If you do, you’re sitting on a small fortune.
What is the name to look for on Bluetooth??????? You never said.
I have an 800 so it comes up as ML80
Nokia accupoint game changer in pinpointer technology.
Yes, it’s an intriguing device with some cool features.
I can turn on and the light comes on. but…….it no longer detects. i can touch metals but it never goes off. 🤷♀️
Try checking the battery connections. On my first Garrett pinpointer, the battery was a little loose so I added some padding inside the cap to create a tighter fit.
If it’s still under warranty, you can send it back in and they’ll probably send you a new one.
@@mdutah-insearchofmormongold I’ll try that. No, it’s just past its warranty. (Of course). The light comes on and it buzzes/vibrates when you turn it on. Just doesn’t beep or buzz when I try to find my target.
@@orscrub3161 I’ve had mine do that every once in a while, but I’ve been able to reset it by turning it off and back on again. My old one I would tap against something and it would sometimes work. You might still want to contact Garrett to see if there is anything they can do for you. Best of luck!
@@mdutah-insearchofmormongold….ty, will do.
So ..which is better? Minelab looks better& newer
Yes, you’re correct. It’s not really apples to apples. Minelab operates on newer technology. The Garrett Gold is still a good machine but I’ve found so much more with the Nox.
You can have that ring fixed at the jewelry shop
Hitting the noise cancel might help also it sets at the best frequency for the ground your in and might run quite and more stabler.
Very cool! Utah detectorist here! Like the channel!
Thanks! What part of Utah?
@@mdutah-insearchofmormongold I'm in Riverton
@@EB-ck8zg Cool! I’m up North.
Thanks brother i want plz tell me what is the best matel dector only who work only coins and gold i live in Australia who work only one feet plz reply
It kind of depends on how much you want to spend. All detectors will find coins but some of the more high end machines are more specific for prospecting. I would check out Minelab’s lineup. They have a range of detectors that will fit any budget.
will any wireless headphones work with the Nox 600?
They should connect to any Bluetooth enabled headphones. That being said, I don’t have a 600 so I’ve only tested it on my 800.
Test on small gum foil, my garret is the only pointer that passes this. Curious if this will
I just tested it on level 7 on a piece of Extra. It easily picks up the foil wrapper.
Melhor é a Fisher 😊😊
I’ve never used a Fisher. I’m sure they make some good machines.
awesome video !can you give me an update on the pin pointer? xp mi-4 vs the garrett pro carrot which do you personally prefer? Thanks
They’re both great, but Garrett is my go-to. It’s super reliable. There are also improvements with the latest model. Increased sensitivity and it is waterproof up to 20 feet.
@@mdutah-insearchofmormongold I also like the fact the Garrett Carrot uses an easily replaceable 9-volt battery vs having to remember and have to take the time to recharge a pinpointer. If the battery dies in the field, a quick 9-volt battery swap takes seconds to do and carrying a spare 9-volt is easily done in any pouch or pocket.
Jakie opóźnienie w sygnale jest?
It can take up to a minute to pair the first time, but after that, it should pair within a matter of seconds.
How about interference with a detector
The frequency shift option can help with that.
Ok, In the video, when the first measurement is 4 minutes and 15 seconds, the result is very poor. You said the first time you opened it... the first time, you said... Then at 4:22 seconds you said you wanted to turn it back on What is this if not an adjustment? Then at 4 minutes and 33 seconds into the video, you say the sensitivity seems to change after rebooting. Therefore, the detection effect at 4:38 is significant. If this isn't an action that changes sensitivity, what is? You should know very well, Garrett's detector also uses a power button to change sensitivity... But I don't see you adjusting the Garrett's sensitivity or trying to reboot. Do you dare to say that such a test is fair? It's not like you said there was no sensitivity testing... You're apparently escorting Fisher Labs... In fact, I think that if your reply is that you did not read the manual clearly and misadjusted it, I won't take it seriously either therefore **I think each of your test and evaluation videos needs to be rechecked.
Thanks for the feedback.
I love my Nox 800 but will never sell my AT Pro. Happy hunting and good luck 🍀🤞🤞👍👍
Same here. My AT Gold is my backup machine.
I saw you adjusted FisherLab's sensitivity to maximum, But I didn’t see you adjusting Garrett’s sensitivity. Is this kind of testing unfair? Because they all have three-stage adjustable sensitivity...
I tested each device as they came out of the box and I didn’t adjust any settings. I agree, a better test would be testing all levels of sensitivity on each pinpointer.
very cool footage. The Byrne family are my ancestors. We have spent a lot of time in Piedmont and I had never heard of calamity Jane being there. Had to do some research. Side note, look at the origanal golden spike driving. It was delayed by 3 days in Piedmont.
Yes, there is some amazing history there. That’s so cool you’ve been able to trace your family history back to those original settlers. I have read that story about the Golden Spike and how they held up the train so they could get paid.
Fell in love with the hobby about 3 years ago, and as a fellow detectorist in Lehi, UT & I will confirm that this possessed/iron-infused soil located in northern Utah County has been extremely successful w/ beguiling me into hours/hours of rage-filled digging only to emerge victorious with the shame of owning a massive crater & ongoing-shattered dreams.😢
It’s definitely a fun and frustrating hobby! Those areas that are highly mineralized can also contain some hidden treasures. Persistence and patience will pay off!
Love this pinpointer and great video well done
Thanks! I appreciate your feedback.
My whites TRX beats all of them.
I’ve heard a lot of guys talk about how great the TRX is. It’s too bad they don’t make them anymore.
Hello! Question, how can you tell if you got the updated version?
I didn’t take any chances and ordered it directly from Garrett. It also says waterproof up to 20 feet on the back of the box. The older models are only 10 feet.
Thank you. I wanted to make a display shadow box for my coins.
Hope it works out. I put one together every year plus a few for relics.
I have an AT Max and an Equinox 900, I've found a lot with each. The 900 has more programable features and is much lighter to swing.
Same here. I’ve found a lot over 10 years with the AT Gold but I do really love the Nox.
