do you have some knowledge about wapiti/red stag hybrids in that specific area, because that bugle sound a little akward and the antlers also look a lot like from a red stag.

Fiordland Wapiti are a Elk/Red hybrid animals with some having stronger Elk genetics than others.

Cheers!! Period 3, Stag went 42inches in length i bileave. We didnt manage to get the jaw aged before dropping it to the FWF unfortunatley.

Really enjoyed your video! I'm not a hunter but I recently walked the Rangiwahia Hut track, stayed a night in the hut and returned via Deadmans Track so was able to recognise all the scenes from your video. Good video capturing and editing - well done!

When you dropped your packs and went for a walk on the way up , did you mark that position on gps to find them again ? Great video , would love to get down there one day
