I personally use clip studio paint which I got a 2 year subscription for from when I bought a small wacom tablet (from Amazon) After making the assets, I use CapCut, which also works on mobile, to assemble! I heard you can also use Ibis Paint to create assets if you work in an iPad/phone and it works pretty much the same. (Ibis Paint was my lifeline when I was starting out!) Best of luck to you! I hope your journey goes well! :D 💛

Oh my god everything you expressed through this story board is really closed to the spirit of the book, even the smallest detail such as when HC clapping his hand at the back tremoring when XL found out all the murals and part of the stone statue. Thank you so muchhh for all your works

@@PersonThePerson2022 I believe that the dislike for Mu Qing comes from prioritizing Xie Lian's feelings over the wellbeing of others, considering him to be more important due to our attachment to him as the main character and seeing things purely through his perspective. The fandom and the novels often tend to have a narrative that very heavily shuns Mu Qing and dismisses his trauma by calling him petty, while not realizing that Xie Lian was also very much responsible for the decay in their relationship. I think people dislike Mu Qing because it comes into conflict with how we view Xie Lian as a character. I’ve noticed it on this subreddit particularly. Firstly, there is the perception that Mu Qing was a friend to Xie Lian so he shouldn’t have left him. People usually say that Mu Qing is paranoid and insecure for not believing they were friends, and this is something I heavily disagree with. Just because Xie Lian saw him as a friend, does not mean that Mu Qing was treated like one by any means. Their relationship was incredibly one-sided in a way that Mu Qing’s pain was always seen as secondary to both Xie Lian’s feelings and pride. Mu Qing was treated like a servant, even after he was not being paid, which places the aspect of friendship in contention with the master/servant relationship between the two. Friendship does not exist on one friend serving the other, it lies on mutual and equal care and devotion, something which Mu Qing, or even Feng Xin for that matter, were never given. Friends do not wash your laundry or take care of your parents, especially when their own elderly, blind mother is living in poverty in the middle of a war. Xie Lian is valued far more so that his parents are cared for, whereas Mu Qing’s mother was never included in hopes of survival. And then when Mu Qing asks to leave to care for his mother, Xie Lian laments how he thought friendship was forever, but does not realize that his association of Mu Qing serving him while neglecting his own familial duties was not friendship. Another reason I think these perceptions of Mu Qing are common is because, due to Xie Lian and Hua Cheng’s status as the main characters, we often take their words as gospel when this is often not the truth, or at the very least, can be debated on. A prime example of this is Mu Qing taking Hua Cheng out of the army. People call him “envious” and “jealous” and take this interpretation as gospel because Hua Cheng was the one who said so, so we actively believe that Mu Qing is lying about his reasons. However, looking at this through a realistic lens, would Mu Qing truly be jealous to this extent of a malnourished fourteen year old child, especially when he has proven to take care for the wellbeing of children? Is it not more morally deceptive to enlist a literal child into the army and have them exposed to the onslaught of death? And it is not only Mu Qing who criticizes this, however, since Xie Lian is the one who supports Hua Cheng being in the army, we see it as morally acceptable since we sympathize with him more, but if we were looking at this in an objective sense, a person taking a child out of the army is far more celebrated than someone who put one in. Perception leads to an audience sympathizing with the sole beliefs of one character. This leads to heightening an opposition’s negative traits and ignoring the negative traits of the character sympathized with. Although Mu Qing conflicts with Xie Lian, often for valid reasons embedded in years of classism and not being listened to, people do not focus on this validity as it creates dissonance with XL being held as the “most virtuous” character in the series. I will use the 33 official scene as an example of how framing makes us think that one character's circumstances are worse than the others and their feelings are more valid. My view of the 33 officials scene is one not very upheld in the fandom, but I see it as a mutual letdown. In that intense moment, Xie Lian called Mu Qing a friend, for the FIRST time, when he needed help. However, these came after moments where Mu Qing was very much not treated as a friend because of the tension I have discussed prior accumulating. In that moment, Xie Lian felt humiliated in front of the officials. Although Mu Qing not defending him would seem like a betrayal, his POV is also incredibly important in considering that Xie Lian put him in a very difficult position, and did not realize that he was asking Mu Qing to potentially compromise his entire livelihood. XL was humiliated, yes, but his humiliation was weighed against everything Mu Qing had worked for. Keep in mind that Mu Qing also had an ill mother he was caring for, and both of their livelihoods depended on such. Thus, the scene boils down to Xie Lian’s pride vs. Mu Qing’s life, and although I understand why Xie Lian was upset, Mu Qing valuing his entire life over Xie Lian’s feelings does not have to be villainized, especially when XL’s health or safety was not being compromised. They were both in very difficult situations, and Mu Qing did his best with what he had at the time, attempting to help Xie Lian with supplies while also having something to support his own family. Character sympathies also often lead to excusing what a liked character did. When Mu Qing goes to give Xie Lian rice, this rice is thrown back at him. Perspective also plays a role because as much as fandom likes to say Mu Qing cannot communicate, in his earlier days, he was barely given a chance to and was instead yelled at and spoken over. Xie Lian also chases Mu Qing out with a broom and if iirc, this cuts his cheek. We are more likely to brush this off, saying it wasn’t as intense a situation as the 33 officials scene, and that XL was upset. We are more likely to give XL the benefit of the doubt for his various questionable actions because we have seen his struggles, however Mu Qing is not giving this benefit as, although his struggles are identified, they are rarely truly acknowledged by the narrative other than in regards to how it impacts XL. XL’s humiliation is treated like a tragedy, yes, but then we look at Mu Qing’s humiliation - being chased with a broom which is not remedied in the next 800 years as brooms are continually thrown at him, Instead it’s called “comic relief.” Instead of the classist sentiments being acknowledged, it is laughed at and Mu Qing is called petty. Mu Qing is said to be rude, but such vitriol is often not directed at Hua Cheng who is also rude, or to XL when he admits he wanted to punch Mu Qing to death in the past. We’re more willing to create different moral codes for characters that we are shown perspectives of or are told are good by the narrative.”

He left by choice, so yes, he didn't do anything wrong. Please don't compare me to other fans as well. He left by choice, so yes, he didn't do anything wrong. Please don't compare me to other fans as well.
