The writing in this movie was top-tier. I mean, they turned the main antagonist into the father figure that the main character so desperately needed. And yeah, I know this is based off of the book treasure Island, but the writing for this movie carries itself just as much as whatever they picked and chose from the original resource

Bad time for disney. Look it up it really is sad how it all fell apart as these mazing movies, on a technical and quality level, came out, bombing at the theater.
I've always had a theory that Disney intentionally sabatoged these movies so that they could justify a move to the objectively worse 3-D animations at the time.

Ive heard the ride looks alot better at night but why destroy a classic? Splash Mountain was a special one of a kind Log Ride that maybe just needed some touch ups here and there some new animatronics some better night lighting and it would have been just fine. R.i.p the Childhoods of Many.

As someone who never got to ride Splash Mountain, and who very much enjoyed The Princess and the Frog as a film, I gotta say that this is pretty sad. Tiana didn't even resemble what she looked like in the film. They missed an incredible opportunity to have Dr. Facilier and his "friends" singing "Are You Ready?" right before the big drop. Overall it just seemed so barren. At least it had "Going Down the Bayou" but that's not much of a consolation.

I sadly didn't get to make Princess this year. Rock and Roll finally decided to make things right after cancelling races during COVID and offering free registration for any race they provided. I ended up choosing Las Vegas then realized it was the same weekend as Princess. But I have a friend who ran Princess and I should be able to get a character video up from Princess weekend today or tonight. :)
