  The abbey would not have been out of place in many a European capital, instead it is set in the middle of the countryside. Limestone hewn out of the surrounding landscape. 👍

  I’m currently worried about L&YR Class 5 No. 1008, which the museum has been moving around a lot lately. I really hope the NRM doesn’t send it elsewhere since it’s one of my favourite locos at York.

  For train enthusiasts it’s a wonderful place to visit. The humble 🦆 received a great honour, fastest steam locomotive & TV star both named in its honour 😉

  GET RID OF ALL MODERN DIESEL/ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVES AND BRING BACK ALL STEAM LOCOMOTIVES LIKE THE MALLARD (IN ROYAL BLUE & BLACK) & THE FLYING SCOTSMAN (IN DARK APPLE GREEN & BLACK) ALSO RE OPEN ALL THE COAL MINES AS WELL TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY FUEL FOR THE TWO WONDERFUL ENGINEERING MARVELS ASAP !!

  Yes, really impressive. Apparently a team of 250 volunteers, including 12 professional gardeners, to maintain the estate. And, the estate is actually half its original size, the rest having been sold. Unbelievable!

  Greetings from Australia. I have fond memories of visiting Cafe Cordina in my childhood with my father everytime we went into Valletta. The sweet smell of cakes, the coffee aroma, the thick shakes which I loved, but best of all, the window dressing at Easter time. I am now in my seventies, and I treasure these beautiful memories of my childhood. 🇦🇺
