Amen! I watched the game but turned it off as soon as it ended when the announcers were gushing about what a total team win it was and about the US dominance. If France just has a bad shooting day instead of a horrible shooting day they win comfortably. So much for dominance. It can’t be a total team win if DT doesn’t take off her warmups. Getting shown up by France didn’t have to happen. It was so obvious they needed a playmaker who could handle stifling defense and who could find people open. That playmaker was left at home so DT could get a ceremonial medal.

I don't believe she would do it, cause anyone with half a brain can tell you. WNBA isn't in a positive position to delude the product. It's a nightmare if the 3 league folds in a year or 2, her image & marketability would take a huge risk. Also, she is for better or for worse not a person who rocks the boat with her actions but more of a silent leader with her play. She's a Steph Curry & not a Lebron constantly looking for attention which is why she got many fans I believe. Her Image is something she cares about. They might ask her but I truly believe she will turn it down. If the WNBA was in a better position then maybe but currently no way.

DT has had a wonderful, lonnng career, but yeah, this didn't feel right. Thing is, USA has a huge talent gap over the rest of the other countries...even if the other countries all combined to field a team, USA should win. I would have liked to have seen Caitlin and Arike in for DT and (the injured) Chelsea Gray. CC could have been anything from the starting PG or even the starting shooting guard or a backup at either position. Arike would be another injection of instant office. Sure, it may be hard for Team USA to keep winning and winning, but they had such a talent and size gap on everyone else, and only bad selections and, evidently, poor coaching resulted in a fortunate one-point win.

Even if that is true, DT could have and should have passed in favor of a younger and stronger person. I'm not saying it had to be Clark - many many many other people in the WNBA could have taken that roster spot and contributed more than 3 points and 8 personal fouls over 6 games.
