  I like this song so much better than the Wiseman song of the same melody but with different lyrics. he calls his song "Kentucky." an insult to the Carter family.

  Gives me chills every time I listen. I remember this music when I was five and six and seven years old with my stepdad‘s father in backwoods Choctaw county, Alabama. I could’ve sworn I heard God sing back then When that old Country church choir sang sacred Harp nearer my God to thee.

  Have had the chance to lead this several times with Darlene. Few hymns are more transporting. Notice how everyone stands. We sing it every year at the Minnesota Cooper Book convention.
