    My first comp gun was a 92 and they just feel right in my hand. The one point i have to agree on is the frame safety. I will take a g model all day with a slide de cocker.

    I have a XI SAO modded basically to a Squalo without the Toni magwell (didn't need it). The only issue I have is mine will shoot low over 25yds. Hearing you complain (not whine per say) on the Squalo, it sounds like you need a 92X Performance.

    You just confirmed what I’ve been saying, to myself. I have both the Shadow 2 and the PDP 4.5…I realize shooting comes down to the shooter/practise, and I’m only 2.5 years into shooting…but man, I can shoot that Shadow 2, way, way better than my PDP. With less effort…and I’ve spent more money on the PDP compared to a stock Shadow 2. CZ’s, best hand guns !!

    I feel like most of the problems you had with the gun are caused by its furniture. Just put on a normal mag release, and tinker with all those components. I am not familiar with this specific single action model, but maybe its either the fact you have a flat trigger, or because you are so used to other trigger pulls: it doesn't seem too big of a problem, atleast while the biggest deal with the Beretta stock triggers is the reset imo. I understand your argument is mostly based on your experience and feelings, but if you cant grip a Beretta in 2024, with all the aftermarket support there is you can adjust it anyway you want. I would understand such a review if you bought it with your eyes closed or if you didnt own a Beretta yet, but whats the excuse? If the gun doesnt fit you, you cant shoot it right, so what did you expect? Safety-wise, Im not certain, but you could try and find one from the Beretta Combat series, they are much more comfortable and natural.

  • @GunGuyCody

    I've completely changed my thoughts on the stock trigger, and think a lot of people are quick to judgment like I was. It's actually really great with a higher round count, it just takes a long time to get there I've discovered. At around 2500 rounds, the difference between my stock one and a CGW pro kit trigger is incredibly small, and mine gets smoother after every range trip. I can defiantly understand why people go straight to the CGW kit because its absurdly poor out of the box, just need to tough it out a bit before it gets good.

  • @tsomers01
    @tsomers012 ай бұрын

    You don’t need to replace the firing pin block. You should replace the firing pin retaining pin in the slide. The factory pin is susceptible to breaking. For dryfire, use a snap cap or put a small o-ring in the slot where the hammer drops to prevent it from hitting the firing pin. You could also use a piece of a foam ear plug.

    There are no compacts "of today" that I'd take over my CZ P-01 for EDC, including any striker fired CZs. Hammer fired with decocker and metal frame is still king for me. I don't know why CZ doesn't start cranking out more P-01s to meet the demand, versus just pushing their version of mere a striker fired Glock.

    Sounds like your knit picking or trying to find things you don’t like about the Squalo. Every review I’ve seen gave it a good rating. Unpredictable trigger? Mag release? Safety too high? C’mon bro. Beautiful gun. Anyone would be proud to add that to their collection.

  • @GunGuyCody

    I've definitely seen other videos with similar complaints. This gun now has more rounds through it from my friends and anyone else who wants to try it than myself. Everyone picked out at least one thing I mentioned here that they didnt like. The trigger is preference, I just don't think its good enough. The mag release and safety literally make it unenjoyable to shoot. It is a beautiful gun, that's why I bought it, but I cant find anyone around me that would even consider buying one after shooting mine. Again, I'm sharing my opinions and you don't have to have the same one, if you love it and it works then buy it.

  • @GunGuyCody

    @@GunGuyCody I’m debating between the two different palm swells. Supposedly the Shadow 2 version let’s you get higher into the beaver tail.

  • @GunGuyCody
    @GunGuyCody3 ай бұрын

    @number1catfish959 I'm curious what your source is on that? The Shadow 2 has a slightly different grip angle. The grip panels do interchange, but the frame is a different shape that forces your hand up and forward. I could see adding palm swells to a shadow 2 helping, and maybe the palm swell shape for the 75 doesnt match the angle of the S2, but I don't see how a different grip panel could get my hands higher on the P01.

  • @number1catfish959

    @@GunGuyCody The bulge at the very top of the grips acts more as a thumb shelf, keeping your hand below that bulge. The Shadow 2 style thins at the top allowing you to push the web of your hand higher into the beaver tail. I remember one KZread reviewer pointing out that detail. If I can find it again I’ll reference it.

    Great gun. But there is something in the weight distribution that throws off the instictive pointing characteristics of this gun. Its kind of like pointing a brick. The short barrel length for a gun this heavy seems to make it float around while you make sight aquisition. Still, I wouldn't trade it for anything, just have to parctice accoringly to overcome this. Can anyone recommend a red dot that works well with this model, I'd like to give that a try.

  • @GunGuyCody

    The Vertec style grip is very small. Actually smaller than the standard grip on the P320 They lost the contract because Sig is selling the guns at their cost to manufacture, and they are more simple to operate and maintain. Also the new contract was for a modular handgun, the M9 wasn't even considered, they were looking at the APX.
