City Walks makes 4K Virtual Walking Tours for treadmill workouts. These walks make your workout go faster. I walk and have a friendly chat with you as we explore various places looking for interesting bits to mention.
In 2016, we sold our house in Montana and traveled Europe for a year. I used to love, on earlier solo travels, just walking and exploring cities. I started slow and my first walk wasn't until early 2017 in Edinburgh. I filmed when I could or when the spirit moved me and the channel grew slowly. In 2019, I got motivated to film more and film regularly. And it worked. The channel sort of took off I could afford to dedicate more time and resources to the channel. One of my favorite things about the channel has been getting comments (I read them all) from people in lock-down that get a bit of joy and solace from watching these simple virtual walking tours of cities and trails.

Thanks Henry for helping make treadmill walking more interesting. You definitely approach your travel episodes with the respect the places deserve. Special call out for the courage to film the cathedral in this episode, as a foreigner and with reverence for the subject.
Thanks so much for the shout out Thomas. Glad you enjoyed the walk. Keep on stepping - H.
Thank you. I was curious about the area.
You are very welcome Annie. All the best. -H
PS Sper că ați numărat și Federația Rusă printre /la țările vizitate,căci, Pyramiden e oraș și teritoriu rusesc la Artica. Consateanca dvs
Thank
Thanks! It was very interesting !!!
You bet. It's a charming little town in an amazing location. -H
This is another nice tour of France in the city of Dole and along the Loire River this is a really beautiful place with nice looking buildings and shops with places to eat and i really like seeing these areas of a city as always until next time thank you.🇨🇵👋🇺🇲
Many thanks Roger. -H
It’s a creepy, weird and unfriendly town. Walked around for an hour and couldn’t leave fast enough. Like the setting of a bad horror movie. Not recommended.
Interesting the different reactions you and I had. I loved the little town and found it fascinating. Sorry you didn't enjoy it but thanks for the comment. -H
We were there in May. Wasted an afternoon driving out there from CDA. Found nothing charming about it ... just creepy. Thanks for your post and have a good day.
Great, thanks! :) Why isn't it a 360 video anymore :/
Hey there. 360 Videos take a lot more time. I'll try to get out and capture some more this summer. Glad to know you like them. -H
@@CityWalks Oh why do they? I do not mean reframed 360, just regular 360. Btw: Quest 3 can playback 8K on KZread in 360 :)
They have a lot more pixels and they have to be stitched together, then colorgrade, then recompressed. Also, they tend to be recorded in H.265. All of this takes a ton of computer power and time. Especially since the typical video software doesn't really handle equirectangular footage that well. I'm looking forward to seeing if I can get my hands on the X4 and I just got a newer computer which could hopefully speed things up. Great question and thanks for the interest. -H
@@CityWalks Ahh so it's more a hardware limitation, I understand. Thanks! :)
Sunshine Mine memorial after 100 men were killed in 1972
Thanks for the info. Must have really rocked this little city. -H
Great video. If you get a chance, continue west on McKinley past Hill St. You'll pass the Bunker Hill Mine, Deadwood Gulch and Government Gulch. Lottsa History
Awesome info. Thanks for that. -H
Too much talking and stopping.
Hi Ramah, thanks for the feedback. The talking and pointing things out is what I do on this channel. I definitely understand that it's not for everyone. Luckily there's tons of other channels out there that are silent like @WatchedWalker et al. Best of luck. -H
37.12 Our Greatest son William Wallace statue,,,,I hate the fact the he isnt on Union street King Edward statue should be outside His Majesty's Theatre,,Its almost deliberate
Thanks for all this great local knowledge. -H
25.16 Now you are at The Butchers this is where the farmers from around Aberdeen used to bring cattle for slaughter,,The Butcher Arms is the pub across the road if you like a punch up this is where to go lol
👍
Where the college is was the site of a massive English Castle This is where Robert the Bruce burnt down the castle and started our big war with England,To the right 19.06 minutes in is the castle well but you missed it,,,Romans had a fort there aswell when they were preparing for the battle of Mons Graupius,,I like to go to the car park to look outfrom height and imagine Roman tents as far as the eye can see,,They also used to burn witches on that hill,,Its a pity we dont have tour guides in Aberdeen
👍
Rob Roy was jailed in the Tolbooth,,,Lots of things you missed in that area,,They used to hang people there
👍
Thanks, I'll look forward to that. That's where I lived. I'm originally from NC & looking to move back one day.
It's a special place in my memories as well. Thanks! -H
French Architecture is so unique and you have captured it well in this walk. Thoroughly enjoyed and your narration adds an extra layer of interest. Thanks as always Henry
You are so welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers. -H
Sounds like a lot of diesel truck pollution
It’s on a primary road over to JACKSON so it gets a lot of truck traffic. Plus, it’s an agricultural area so lots of ranch trucks. - H.
Do you have any walks on Atlantic Beach?
Not yet, but I would love to get back there and do some more filming in the area. Thanks for watching. - H.
Very enjoyable once again Henry. So much history around every corner.
So glad to hear it. Yes I wish I had more time to explore and learn about the city. It was a fun trip. Thanks for watching - H.
Is this a highway as you said, to me looks like a country road
It’s not an interstate but it is a highway. It goes over to cook city.
I was one of the tram operators few years back. Great job but the boss was nasty to all drivers, male or. female.
Sorry to hear that. It’s a beautiful place though. Thanks for watching. And commenting. - H.
Miss my HOMETOWN 😢
I miss it too Larry. It was really good to get back for a visit. -H
Thank you for your video. Btw there is a beautiful David Crosby's song called Orleans.
You are so welcome and thanks for the song info. I’ll have to look it up. -H
Thank you!!
You bet Annie. Thanks for watching. -H
Cincinnati vs Cleveland I prefer neither 😂 but in all respects Cincinnati has a southern twang Cleveland is a echo of new york so whichever you like best suits you...
Interesting take. I hadn't thought of it that way. Thanks for the response. -H
❤❤❤
👍❤️👋
Thanks for the tour of Nevers, enjoyed seeing the narrow streets and quaint French buildings. I hope you're enjoying the bike tour.
We had a great time on our bike tour. It was a new experience for us. All the best. I've been enjoying seeing your summer London walks as well. -H
This is another great walking tour and Nevers is another beautiful modest size city in France and the older buildings are always really awesome to look at on the thin streets as well as the local shops and businesses it is very nice there in Nevers thank you once again for the awesome tour in France and walks until next time you and your family take care thank you Henry.🇺🇲🤠🇨🇵
You too Roger. So glad you enjoyed it and I always enjoy seeing your comments. -H
Thanks for the amazing tour my friend... It's so enjoyable to watch your video. 🤗
You are so welcome. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. -H
why are there no garages?
good question -H
Also, President Kennedy came through- don't know if it was a parade or what.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing that. -H
@@CityWalks Welcome!
Sometime could you go over to 'mud flats'? My Dad was USAF and we lived on a street that was 2 story, on the corner. Down the street was a big campus (big to a 2nd grader) and nuns were there If you walk down the other street you'd run into our elementary school. We lived there till a house opened up on base. Got my first kiss on the cheek from a boy in my class- he was so sweet. He and his parents suddenly moved away- Mom told me he had to transfer a school for very intelligent kids- I do remember he was smart. Wish I could find him just to see what he did in life with his brain. DEAN WHERE ARE YOU?!?!? 😂
Hi there. I'l see what I can do. Where are the 'mud flats'? Thanks. -H
@@CityWalks haha! Its the neighborhood by that big...college? Where the nuns are. It was called Mud Flats because the streets were muddy. Somehow I guess the houses were built before the streets were put down. I'll see if Mom knows the address
what was the banner with the 3 green tress and the black thing on a white background. love the waterfall.
Hi Mary. I have no idea. Can you post the time code when you saw it? -H
@@CityWalks 4.27 6.46 8.20 & 9.38 four different places.
@@marymayo1275 Thanks Mary. Looks like that is the flag for Lauterbrunnen www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/ch-be167.html
I fell in love with the place just watching this. I thought Lakewood next to Cleveland was cool. This place is charming.
I'd love to film walks up in Cleveland some time. So glad you enjoyed this one. Keep on the Steppin' -H
Thanks for the tour😊
You are so welcome. It’s fun to share such an amazing place. -H
Thx!
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching and commenting. -H
I guess I'm so used to seeing alaska when it's covered in snow. Has a northern michigan type feel with all the green. One day I'd like to visit AK.
It was a joy to finally get up there and explore so many towns did heard about. Heading back in September. -H
Beautiful place. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thank you too, and yes. I loved visiting these lesser known cities along the Loire. I'd heard of their names but not much more. So charming. Thanks for watching and commenting. -H
Tucson is a very nice city, some paslrts are not as clean as they should be. But generaly it's alot of beauty. I wish you could tour The University of Arizona community. Im a part of UofA and love it!!
I'm sure we'll be back. We really like the area and I'd love to film a tour of the University. Cheers. -H
What a trip!
Indeed. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Keep on steppin’ - H.
Hi ! Is Lyon in your program ?
Unfortunately, No. I'd love to go back some day and visit though. Thanks Pierre, -H
Very beautiful
Thanks so much Oleg. -H
Very good Henry. You do well not getting lost. ☺
Thanks so much. Luckily I have map apps to find my way around😀 -H
In the winter the ice would be pushed up almost to the road
Really interesting. -H
The NAOH ships used to dock out at the end...no lake
Very cool
Ferry used to go to Kodiak Island
👍
Boy that area has changed...the spit was two lanes wide..then twenty ft rocks then ocean...so they have really filled in,had no buildings on right side of road. Fifty years of build up....amazing
No campground, weekenders would line the road bumper to bumper and that way camping in 74
I can only imagine. Thanks so much for sharing all this. -H
Lived there 72-74 worked in cannery at ens of spit, then at Totom cafe near Salty Daug Saloon,a lot less there then. Halibut is fileted.
👍❤️
Thank you for taking us on this nice evening walk through lovely Orleans, Henry! Your dedication to filming is commendable - you do some of these after you've had pretty exhausting days. 🥴A very safe and happy Independence Day to you and your family! 🎆🎇
Many thanks! But I found most days walking and biking used different muscles. Most days I didn’t mind getting a walk in. Thanks Pam. -H
Nice walk along a beautiful quiet town..the river is so lovely... thank you brother 🎉🎉
You are so welcome. Thanks so much for your kind words and energy. I'm so glad you enjoyed walking around Orleans too. -H
