Beautiful but clearly I need to up my brush game😂 I’ve never seen so much water used with acrylics. I’ve always heard too much water breaks them down but ig that’s what’s needed first a good blend. Great video thanks❤

What medium is used with acrylic paint?
@GregLowmanArt16 күн бұрын
Plain water works fine w/ acrylics, but you can add some slow-dri if you need it amzn.to/3GhL5gc

Beautiful. Do you use the same technique if you are painting a sky for example? (Ie not circular)
@GregLowmanArt16 күн бұрын
For a basic sky background I would probably do something like this with lighter blues at the bottom and a darker blues at the top: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mqSiuK-PqKSZqtI.html

Something that has become very useful to me is a spray bottle that is mostly water, with a few drizzles of vegetable glycerin, and about 1/4 full of arcylic paint thinner medium. The liquid is transparently milky white. I can mist it over my palette, I spray it directly into cups, sometimes on to my brush, and rarely, I spray my whole canvas with it. This stops the "dusty" effect when I use too much water on my acrylic paint without me noticing. It keeps the pigments bound, extends the working time, is cheaper than using mediums directly, and somehow ends up working more smooth than water. I tend to do 100 glazes so overwatering arcylic could be a big problem for me. In fact, I would have made this gradient by glazing, and it would have been very frustrating and taken longer. 🤔I should buy a soft large brush, because all my really big brushes are rather stiff and meant for latex wall paint

Water is going to be best. If your paint is drying too quickly, you can add some slow-dri amzn.to/3GhL5gc to it, but linseed oil is used with oil paints & will not help you here.
