So, how many hot tents do own! LOL Im looking for a not expensive set up. How do you like the firehiking? Im not to sure about it. Im looking for something that weighs max 7 lbs ish for back country hiking. I dont think this tent has dual zippers on the door which doesnt allow you to vent from the top or peek out the tent! And how about the inner? Can you exit 2 separate doors in the mesh?
@evergreenoutdoors46512 ай бұрын
Sorry for the super late response. The Firehiking 2-4 is a really packable tent. The stove, it's alright on chilly nights but not something I would bring on a -30 camp. Now I'm using a KniCo Alaskan Jr paired with a One Tigris Rock Fortress. Not good for hiking by any means but it's a roomy and cozy setup!

Ive been considering that solowilder stove and would like to know your opinion of it.
@evergreenoutdoors4651 Жыл бұрын
Its very well built. It surpassed my expectations of a $200 Amazon stove. Requires a lot of stoking though due to its size but that's to be expected of a small stove. It likes to back draft a bit when the door is open but not enough to be deal breaker. Overall, if you're not looking to spend a ton of money on a brand name stove, then this is definitely the stove to buy.

Just a heads up....haven't seen this posted yet, but Kni-co is now including this new one piece damper....I am really not thrilled about it...its a milled piece of steel, vs what they show on their site....the cast iron one that they used to come with....I am sure it will work, but one of the reasons I went with their stove was the quality of the damper...I guess time will tell.

@@catladycatlady7359 My trekker stove came with the new style damper. While it's easy to put in, it doesn't have much tension so adjusting it and getting it to stay where you want it is a pain. It just rotates around way too easily. I replaced mine with a 4" cast iron one like in this video and it works much better.

I noticed a short stove pipe and large spark arrester, have you gotten any burn wholes in the tent? Or is the big spark arrester enough?

I haven't gotten any burns in it...yet lol. The arrestor works decently, it was supplied with the stove from Lure Of The North.
