  My 2023 RX350 just recently displayed this message when I tried to install the SDcard that was missing in the Lexus dashcam. I did not purchase a 16GB industrial grade card as recommended so when i placed the 128GB Lexar card I purchased as a replacement (dealership told me I could use anything; not sure they knew what they were talking about) we noticed this error code (shift system malfunction). Never seen it before. I have since removed the card but everytime I enter the vehicle I have to push the action button to stop the beeping (I believe this is because the card is missing). I'm not sure if the incorrect memory card would be the cause? Any ideas?

  I do not believe that the memory card would be the cause of the Shift Malfunction. It occurs with an RF interference to a module under the center console. What I would try is disconnecting the battery under the hood over night as a soft reset to the electrical system.

  @@TheSoundconcept I didn't have to disconnect the battery as it went dead and needed a boost so basically reset. I lost all of my connections to Lexus Connect however my dash cam continues to beep when starting the card (I think because there is no memory card in it - afraid to put one back in since that i when everything started getting all the error codes etc). Do you think it could be the dash cam that is causing an interference?

  We only installed a subwoofer amplifier. The signal was off the lower front door speakers and worked perfect.

  If your Lexus is a 2017 then we can add wireless CarPlay/ Android Auto to your vehicle. ZZ2 also has a device that can convert wired CarPlay to wireless connection.

  Bad choice in deck. There are several modern 1.5 DIN screens with about a 5.8''' viewing display (and wireless Carplay, etc) that would fill that space nicely without covering up the AC controls.

  This may help and what we have found that under the cup holder inside the console is the factory amplifier and control modules. We installed an aftermarket amplifier to allow the vehicle to sound better. The amp we installed under the factory amp created RF and interfered with another control module. When we moved the amp to a position under the seat the warning on the information display went away. We speculate the control modules near the factory amplifier is causing and may require relocation.

  Eli that is a big certain among individuals upgrading the audio system. At our installation center we focus on the highest quality sound dampening and resonant products. Mid bass drivers and subwoofers can cause vibration and harmonics that add to distortion. Correct placement of materials eliminates and at the very least reduces these effects significantly.   I spoke to tech support at ZZ2 and the action of the apps on Apple and or Android depends on the operating system of the device. If you have the Spotify app running when the vehicle is turned off then it should be the first app to open when the vehicle is turned on. Apple or Android can change that function at any point with an OS update. The end user cannot control that.

  Yes it will. There are different console controllers that indicate which model you need for CarPlay or Android Auto. You can call ZZ2 at 877 241 2526 and they can walk you through it.

  I do not, the music we use to tune and demonstrate have copyrights and this video format stops the sound from coming through. The enclosure we built is tuned down to 38 hertz and with hi def USB music resonated within your body.

  This dash kit can take most double DIN applications. A 6.4". 6.8" or 7" screen size. Typically a Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC, Sony or if you have a PHD in understanding confusion an Alpine will work as well.

  I have a 2001 sl500 I went to a guy to get a unit like this he said my speakers are fiberoptic and it won't be compatible. Is this true ? I don't think a bunch of difference between a 98 and 2001

  The amplifier is not fiber-optic but proprietary to the OEM radio. It needs to be bypassed. The larger door speakers will need a small amplifier. The other speakers can be driven from the new radio. I do sell a double DIN dash kit and keep the cup holders operational.

  Multiple audio shops have told me they are unable to add subs or change defender speakers because the new product would play at half the volume due to Meridians amp/cpu/flux capacitor stuff over my head. This video doesnt mention any issues working with the Meridian system. In your experience, are there any issues with switching out/upgrading speakers and subs in the new Defenders? Daddy needs some bang in the ride pronto! Thank you
