Geir Helland

Feel free to look up my instagram account: geirhellandphotography.

My videos are often composed of photos and film in and of nature. I like taking pictures of plants and animals, but also find great pleasure in seeing details, lines and patterns in nature. Sometimes I make underwater videos from dives along the Norwegian coast or from the Red Sea.

The circle of life is so amazingly convenient The elephant commits suicide just in time for the lions to eat.

I was under the impression that an elephant mother and her group would kill lions that attack their young.

Up to a point they will. If it's injured or sick they may defend it for awhile but eventually they'll move on. If it gets separated it's on its own

Ah, this seems clever. While I understand that you would go on such a trip, and I'd do it too without any questions, but having been to Svalbard a couple of times myself I also know that the Governor doesn't appreciate it when you seek out the polar bears like this. In fact, it is illegal to seek them out with this purpose.

It pays to remember that a polar bear will NEVER turn down an easy meal.

Walrus babies are called “calves.” Use the word “cub” when you talk about any one of a number of meat-eating mammal babies: lions, bears, leopards, etc.

It is so sad to see these bears always looking for a meal to survive. Not realizing that humans are destroying their habitat which they have no control over. Watching this was awesome and thank you for sharing. Stay safe, warm, and blessings.

It’s so annoying that every time you want to just enjoy some nature, somebody ALWAYS has to bring up the environment, or animals becoming extinct, or humans suck, or trees burning, or garbage in the water, or hunting, or fish dying, or people living, or just fucking having to spoil the fun with CONSTANTLY CRYING AND BITCHING about SOME damn thing. Give it a damn rest!

Polar bears are moving south, learning to survive by finding new prey and mating with grizzly bears. Humans are included as part of their diet. So, save your tears.
