Thanks, Moose! Yes those CRJ's can be tight!
Thank you for thus moose
Wow! Their stuff is incredibly well thought out. I really LOVE the simplicity and precision of that flash exposure compensation. I'll be buying one.
There are still plenty of CRJs out there. My frequent flights from Dallas to Durango, Colorado is always in a CRJ. What bag do you use for CRJs?
there are, as per previous videos, my MP-1v2
@@MoosePeterson wow- eight years ago! Well, I guess if it ain't broke don't replace it!
Moose, is there a camera bag would fit in a CRJ200 overhead with a Z8 or Z9 with Z 100-400 and 500PF?
there are, as per previous videos, my MP-1v2 or MP-3v2 for the gear you mention
Always great to see you! Think Tank is always top end equipment. Thanks for the update and sharing with us. Baseball cap to protect the waitresses, that is essential!
Your camera gear packing is so well thought out..👍 Almost like you have been doing this for years...😀
thanks for watching, yeah, a bit of a road warrior I is :-)
A moose here in Madera Canyon?! Wow - oh, a birder named “Moose.” Now it makes sense. Love our birds. Here in Pima County, NW of Tucson, I see Anna’s and Costa’s hummingbirds, Gila woodpeckers, three kinds of doves, and even scarlet tanagers. Now shabby for an urban setting
If I lay mine in back of my Jeep or Pickup (covered) the rolling around a little will always tighten them. I always use a zippered bag.
Thanks! With that moustache I believe you need a French accent, non?
I’ve got a RRS tripod and it’s always a bit of a chore to get the legs out. Gravity doesn’t help me at all. Great advice about travel and keeping the knuckles loose. Keep’em com’in Moose!
Thanks for the tip Moose. 😉
Simple and right on the money! I especially appreciate the tip about carrying it in the field upside down and loose.
My knuckles are pretty good, but my knees are killing me.... I wish I could leave them loose like that, might help me stand up quicker! Kidding aside, interesting idea. It would be nice to see you showing us the setup as you do it. Greg
Excellent advice. As for knuckles, the naming origin I suspect can be found in (even your own) the use of the word 'joints' for the segment dividers of the tripod legs -- look at a finger on your hand and see the knuckles marking each joint in the finger. Cheers!
Thank you Moose. Simple advise. Never thought about it.
Great advice! In my 50 years of photography using tripods, I never thought of this.
We'll take all the advice you are willing to give us Moose! Many thanks!
I appreciate you!
I had my TVC at PSW on your outing and still have it, used a million times looks like new!!!
Hi Moose , great video again. Always love your vids, actually there is not a single one that i have missed. However what I miss is your great camera bag packing videos!
thanks for watching ... if I get a new bag, I'll be sure to make one but I've not changed those in a long time. But I have changed contents so maybe I should update ... thanks for the thought :-)
Thanks for sharing, Mr. Peterson!
My sincere pleasure! thanks for watching
Thanks for the video, really nice! As far as I understood, if you go from 10 to 9 on profoto, that would be 1 full stop and to 8 power it would be 2 stops. The app function with the phone through Blutetooh is also fine! Specially if you are using the Profoto Connect.
Love ya Moose!
love ya right back! thanks
I read somewhere that Rufous hummingbirds are least concern and their number is growing! Did you mean it’s number going down in Arizona or US?
meant what I said, their numbers, their population is being hit by the loss of food on their breeding grounds.
Santa Rita is my go to place to find the Rivoli’s and Broad billed! Thanks for sharing.
Last weekend I picked up a copy of the Nikon System Handbook. A nice addition to my photo book collection. I've been following Moose since he had Wildlife Research Photography. Love the aircraft photos but the bird photography is best! Thanks Moose!
Your wealth of knowledge of the natural world seems to have no end. Great images too of course! Love these updates. 😎
Thank you kindly, appreciate your watching!
Mr. Moose awesome content thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
I live in the Palouse. It's beautiful
Ok just have to confess when I saw the heading of this video All I could think was. I didn’t know that there was a moose season in the Palouse area. I live just north of Pullman in Idaho. I have seen moose at my place in the woods and multiple times on the Palouse. So I had to see who shot a moose. Oh well he is right this area is on of the most beautiful places in the world. Thank for clearing up my confusion. 🙂
Not sure if your still around. I just picked up this unit. You said you shoot F4 7180. What is 7180? Also, what are the battery options? I cannot find info on the web. Thank you
70-180 lens, f/4 is an aperture. And yes, I'm very much still around
thank you for getting back to me and clarifying this. That was very kind of you. I’ve been trying to use two of these lights together and they’re just blowing everything out. Everything is just a white picture. I’m going to try today on some heavy filters on there to get the light down. I’ve tried adjusting the settings, but to no avail. When I bought the lights, I got two batteries, but I can’t find anywhere how to use them.
You’ve mentioned that you weren’t using the battery pack.
you might simply try doubling the distance and seeing if that cuts down exposure
@@MoosePetersonI thank you. Can you tell me about the battery pack you have?
Thanks Moose never thought of that I’ll move through foot away from now on❤
I flipped my foot and mounted a gun dot site on it for inflight burbs, marginal success lol. Glad i'm not the only one with focus issues, have to keep hand on ring full time.
Thanks. Good video. Good color, good sound, good info.
Watching this in 2024 is comical....a Great seller of Nikon d3 d4s D5...D6.....😅😊
In my small photographer circle, I know two who hold the camera by the tripod foot. I never really understand the point, primarily for the points you mentioned: it's harder to hold the lens steady, and you don't have access to the controls on the lens. For me, that foot has one purpose: to attach the camera to a tripod. If I'm not using a tripod, I take the foot off the lens and store it on the tripod. It saves a little weight and keeps it out of the way. So, yeah, basically everything you just said.
Great suggestion from a guy who knows what he’s talking about!
Thank you for that Moose. I'm just a newbie and struggling a little with my F mount D series 80-200 just hand holding. I often nudge the AP or zoom ring, generating an EE code when I've just hit the AF button. Loving my DF all the same, the manual controls make it real simple to learn on! Just have to figure out what I could use the priority modes for and how... I'm stuck on M mode and switchable auto eyesso!
Always informative
Thank you Moose. I love the field report and very helpful tips you provide. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.
Good advice. Or if you want, you can also just leave the tripod foot on the lens, rotated upwards, and it doubles as a convenient handle by which you can carry the whole rig. 👍
Great advice
As always, fantastic advice that I learned from you years (a decade?) ago! What foot are you using on the z100-400? Is it the RRS LCF-21? And is it an RRS collar?
Yes, it is! The collar is built in, excellent and no need to repl. Thank you!
What a cool, useful tip. Thanks Moose!!!!
thanks for watching, I appreciate you!
So simple, yet so impactful. Well done and thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Agree. What eyecup do you have? is not dk 33

Agree. What eyecup do you have? is not dk 33
Thanks Moose. I move the foot to approx 45 degree (from the bottom) on the left side. Then the foot and bottom of the lens barrel are on the same plane (underneath). Makes for a much bigger "platform" to rest in my hand. Just another way to hang on to the heavier glass.
Thanks for the tip Coach..I learned this from you many years ago..appreciate everything you’ve taught me about photography!❤
I appreciate you! Enjoy Osh :-)
Makes sense, I have never thought of this. thanks
