You can really see why Moe and Larry called Joe Besser "prissy" right to his face. Easily the worst Stooge, forced on them by the studio when they actually wanted to get Mantan Moreland in when Shemp passed.

Never heard or seen this tv series before. I love black and white films and tv series. Men looked so suave in their suits and hats. And the women looked so feminine and beautiful. Although a little silly in the comedy section, I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you 😊

Why in the hell would a woman be in love with the likes of a stone-cold loser like that homely fool! This guy Lawton eats cigarettes like they were candy!

His wife died just the night before and all he basically says is "good riddance." No one else gives it much thought either. I think the Prime Suspect was miscast. They seemed to want him breezy and irresponsible. As it is, he's snappish, without empathy, and...too uncharismatic and too old for the character to be sympathetic.
