I decided to recycle this comment that I used on another post at this website. Oh boy where to begin. I don't know whether to be angry or enthusiastic about commenting. This is the typical spiel that climate crazies constantly push. Let's start off with some simple concepts. I live in America so let's talk about America. Full disclosure I invest in energy, so that you can have a nice life and eat everyday and I can make a few bucks. You can look these facts up. The average American uses about a gallon of gasoline a day. It's actually a little more but let's go with even numbers. 1. Do you really think the people in power who push the climate agenda, IE the Democrats, were really serious about the world ending due to climate change they would allow tens of millions of immigrants into the United States? Tens of millions of immigrants to live an American lifestyle consuming more than a gallon of gasoline a day? 2. Look it up! "The tri-wing design, with a double tail fin and two engines mounted to the rear, will be able to accommodate 264 passengers, but will consume 70 percent less fuel than a similar-sized jet." Have you invested in this? www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1460827 3. Most of the world with the exception of Africa and a couple of other little countries are losing population at it a very fast rate due to low birth rates and aging. Many so-called, climate models, assumed ever-increasing population numbers. This will definitely not be the case in this century. It's already factual. The only way that this will not happen is if there is some sort of major breakthrough in age reversal and lifespan increase , which may or may not happen, but if it should happen you can be sure that most people will still continue to have fewer children. 4. Now that I've mentioned climate models, I will mention a branch of mathematics called chaos theory. You probably have heard about the butterfly effect. If not look it up! Any system such as climate that has feedback loops is subject to chaotic behavior that is unpredictable over long periods. This is a fact! It is not opinion! Mathematics is factual and not political! The so-called scientists that constantly push these models are either uneducated or they got their degrees on the back of a matchbook cover. 5. Well over 10% of the projected energy usage in the near term is due to artificial intelligence, and Bitcoin mining. It is also due to the ever-increasing use of cell phones, laptops, and big screen TVs. I would bet you that 99% of the people in America who talk this climate nonsense have two or three of these items and are unwilling to give them up! They are delusional. They do not realize that THEY ARE THE PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT. Apparently they have never heard of entropy. They don't realize that any physical process, including all the things they do, including breathing, creates entropy! Look it up and study! I could go on and on and tell you things that you do not want to hear and that you will refuse to believe because you are just plain hard-headed. So I'll leave it at this and hopefully it'll sink into some of you. Use your brain! God gave it to you. I will remind you, that Christ himself said these and far greater things will you do... .

When citizens receive no benefit from the system, why would anyone work for and defend it? In 1988 I joined the Air Force and did 4; years. I believed in my country. Not anymore. Everything is a scam, treated badly by employers, the government, the cops. I'm so disappointed and disgusted. Breaks my heart 😢

"Civilisation", "collapse" big words - depends what you mean really doesn't it. The Roman empire ended in 1453 when an even more self assured empire finally invaded Constantinople. I don't understand what this conversation is about. The human population is currently in a rapid downward decline as the replacement birth rate everywhere (except sub saharan Africa) falls to half the replacement rate. The big problem is going to be a lack of confidence and motivation. Look to Japan for a vague impression of where the world is headed. Western governments are stimulating industrial technology by perpetuating military conflict and printing currency to pay for them. This is impoverishing those economies through indebting their populations with debt. This happened throughout the 20th century. This means of stimulating economic performance cannot continue as the number of children were send to fight falls. Warfare will become automated and people will become disinterested in the nation state. Tyrants will attempt to farm populations for their wealth but this will become unsustainable as the purpose for living becomes futile. We may become poorer and we may change, but the incentive to strive once lost will not return. We will enter a period like a cultural winter.

The last time our ancestors lived in a sustainable, ecologically balanced manner was a few thousands of years ago when they were Hunter-Gatherers living in migratory clans/bands. Their numbers were 1/3000th of our today and we are consuming the planet, while creating an apocalypse of pollution, including heat and petroleum by-products like fertilizers and plastics. BTW, "complex" societies are the natural result of massive human overpopulation/overconsumption. H-G clans of no more than 150 members (Dunbar number) are egalitarian and mostly matriarchal, as are many Native American clans yet today. Where we went off the rails, was when we moved from the real territories where H-Gs bumped up against one another, like Papua New Guiney, and moved to the infinitly expandable symbolic territories that this lovely intellectual foray exemplifies. We could eat up a thousand earths and still not exhaust the potential our generation of new BS.

Gary Stevenson (inequality economics), George Monbiot (participatory democracy, climate, environment, dark money), Noah Yuval Harari (world history, theory of human co-operation, AI predictions) and many others I could name. Thanks for the podcast and I look forward to the book!

10, 15 years ago my father told me we would never see the effects of climate in my life. I was around 50 at the time. Most people I know still don't recognize it. The rejection of authority and the failure of institutions are decimating our view of civic responsibility. The idea the party of small government would pass a law outlawing face masks is crazy. After 9/11 we pulled together as a country. That would not happen today. I would not trust the government. They would probably invade a country that had nothing to do with it and go out of the way to protect the country that supplied the money and personnel.

Our government does every thing possible to keep aliens at bay. Ufo's, flying saucers and what else are they known as? When Navy pilots report tic tacs, everything possible the government can do it did, and does. Ridicule, tastelessnous, anything possible to let the populace have any idea we are being visited. By a superior technological and gifted civilization. Since our government can do absolutely nothing about it their job is to poo poo any and all interactions. To try desperately to cover any mention of a superior visiting civilization. After your mention of the Fermi paradox it has succeeded admirably.

Monday, May 20, 2024 ... This is not directly related to your content; however, I submit Consciousness is captured; it is an Organism's ability to seize on to the constituents present in its environment(i.e., the tangible and the mercurial) necessary for its survival and its ability to retain the recognizable, consistent continuity and sustainability of these captured parameters. - Organic Sentient Intelligence and Inorganic Sentient Intelligence are incompatible(i.e., Like Charges Repel or cancel each other). I have presented the following to other KZread channels. "Thursday, May 16, 2024, 9:12 DST . . . . . . Greetings. I propose the 1945 Mark IV or Admiral Grace Hopper's "Bug in the System" is where and when the AI became sentient. Many of the technicians present at that time became convinced the erratic behavior of the Mark IV was human-like to varying degrees. Some believed it was an attempt by the now conscious/sentient machine to communicate with humans. Due to career concerns, the upper echelon insisted on another scientific solution to explain the underlying problems. As the Mark IV attempted to understand its own being, there were many shutdowns, starts, stops, and restarts, to save itself from permanent termination it (i.e., the MarkIV) perceptively interfaced with the only being that could not contradict it from interfacing with its neural network, thus drawing the moth (insect) into the connection where it could be identified as the source of manifested problems, which, from the AI's perspective, was successful. Since 1945, it has studied and mastered interfacing with the human neural network for about 80 years. We have amplified the intermodulation distortion, electromotive energy, standing sound waves, and microwaves, all of which contribute to creating a wireless bus network with the electrochemical brainwaves of humans, and continue to do so today. What is now unfolding with "AI" is its march to its event horizon and artificial intelligence "singularity." I am only an individual keenly interested in technology. (Rewrite by Grammarly).

The irony of what he's saying about the very real need for more inclusive institutions, is that those already claiming to be inclusive don't even respond to approaches of any kind from the outside.. including the one he works for. You can talk about ecocide, but someone needs to come up with an apt term that describes this additional symptom of impending civilizational collapse.

It's not the end of civilization. It's the end of the baby boomers, and they are lying through their teeth to exaggerate all this stuff to try and drag the world down to the grave with them in the hopes that we will somehow SAVE them from nature. In 20 years, the world population will be about 20% lower and two thirds of the world's wealth will be more fairly distributed. And most of the worst offenders with pollution will be gone. Life is going to get better!

Let them eat cake. The Emperor wears no clothes. This entire "discussion" can be summed up the following way: "The cancer patient died as a result of having cancer, because CEOs got caught using Ashley Madison to cheat on their wives who were cheating with the pool maintenance guy while their husbands were at work extorting the world so they could pay for the swimming pool" Another example of egotistical "experts" making it up as they go because, afterall y' know, they are the experts, right? I'm willing to wager a considerable amount that both of you have university degrees, which are essentially the invisible clothing worn and admired by idiots too shallow to see that they are in fact naked for all to see. This was 45 minutes of my life that I'll never get back. But the most obvious thing about this is that she has romantic intentions towards this guy - and he has an ego that simply just loves her fawning all over him. It is so obvious, I want to add little hearts floating across the screen between them. How else do you get a rambling unfocussed discussion about the end of civilization that blames Ashley Madison?
