  Interesting he suggests major record labels are necessary and that The Smiths’ mainstream popularity would peak without, when in fact Dead Or Alive’s popularity peaked at this time as ultimately they refused to sell out. It quickly became clear they would not tone down the gay overtones and Pete would not play easy, which is why the mainstream labels stopped supporting them. Pete’s opinion of major labels changed after this. I’m glad he still had integrity and made the music he wanted

  Wow, this is certainly a different tack. And it's 100% live - Pete Burns has an amazingly powerful voice. Sounds a bit like the post punk/ psychedelia that Echo & the Bunnymen and The Cult were onto very early on in their careers.

  every night I would bed the DJ to play this at the dance club, I didn't have to beg too hard because everyone loved it, when it came on, everyone packed the dance floor on Studio 9 in San Diego, way back in 1985. Oh the memories

  Miles Hunt was thought of by other bands as an arrogant, pathetic idiot and non talent which he was. Morrissey had more imagination than Hunt could even dream of which is probably why nobody remembers his crap band but they do remember 'The Smiths'.

  An attempt to create a new identity for themselves, Pete Burns and Steve Coy re-formed their band and released one single as “International Chrysis” on Stock, Aitken and Waterman's PWL label. The single (Rebel Rebel) failed to chart in the UK and this identity was set aside.
