  She’s amazing! I could never do her voice or guitar justice. I do know Fred Neil’s version of “a little bit of rain” it’s just D,G,A throughout the whole song,I’m pretty sure hers is the same with a lot of fancy stuff in between.

  7 years after this video was created, I got my FILs banjo from my MIL, and I just watched the bio-documentary on Jim Hansen, and decided this had to be the first song I learned (taught myself) on the banjo. Thank you for putting this out there for the masses! The alternate ways to form the C and D was very helpful as well! A little tangential, but I’m in a small ukulele group, and we’re adding Rainbow Connection to our practice set because this video simplified the song so well! (G, Em, C and D/D7 are all pretty easy chords on the uke!)

  Thank you very much for real brother 🤙🤙 I’ve always played guitar on and off over the years, but have really gotten into bluegrass over the past three years. My wife got me a banjo for Christmas, and I’m still stuck between 3 finger Scruggs style and clawhammer but I’ve always loved clawhammer melodies. 3 finger feels more natural to me and I can’t seem to get the muscle rhythm down for clawhammer, but this definitely started to point me in the right direction - do you have any other beginner songs you’d recommend?

  I went and checked out the original. I love the adaptation man. Great suspension & drop thumb. The talent that goes into adapting a song to the banjo often goes unrecognized, but I see you 🤘🏼
