Just finished it finally - an incredible amount of detail and info that you wont find in any of the multitude of other Dylan biographies. This is the one.

Chris Morris is a hero of mine, and CERN's work is fascinating, so it's great to hear him asking such intelligent and thought out questions.

Blimey! Not only one of the funniest men on the planet, he also knows his physics.

This reminds me so much of the Brasseye episode 'Science'. Morris should have created a moral panic about CERN.

Just a question regarding Prof Cox's assertion that nothing can go faster than the speed of light. According to David Sereda an experiment was done in the 90's by a Dr Raymond Chiao where he put laser light through a conversion crystal and then through a crystal silica sheet and the light travelled at 1.7x the speed of light. Also a Dr Lijun Wang at NEC Princeton used a crystal light source through Caesium Gas- or Caesium Chloride gas and it made the light go 300x the speed of light .

This guy doesn't get it. The standard model is not a dogma. It's the only thing that worked so far. That's why it's the standard model. A dogma shall never be questioned. The standard model as every scientific theory is always questioned and scientists try to break it.
