I saw an interview with Ian Stewart the piano player for the stones and one of the original members, and when he was asked about Bryan's problem with Jagger and Richards, he said that Bryan Jones couldn't write a song to save his life, so what did he want the stones to do, carry on playing covers, obviously not.

The difference between Brian and Mick was Brian's family was not supported and Mick's family was, it's easy for those who haven't been there but when that starts at a young age it confirms to the individual that they have little value and as much as you might believe it's not true when put under stress the confusion in your head tends to regurgitate the message that you are no good and undeserving of what you have accomplished it inserts a false sense of no value that seems impossible to shake, it's hard to be great when the deep rooted message in your head says different, you can't become a champion if you don't firmly believe you are better than anyone else, there can be no doubt. Parents can either destroy their children or turn them into exceptional human beings, that's what happened to Brian and why he thought his material was never good enough because of the seeds his folks planted in his brain, if someone doesn't believe they are worth it why should anyone else believe in them..

I would bet that this insecurity was hammered home to Brian when his younger sister Pamela died. I would bet his parent's grief left him feeling that he could never compare to her - that his survival meant nothing. When he pulled up out of that to create a working band only to be superceded by his mates - well, there's the trauma all over again, the feeling that he didn't matter and wasn't good enough.

How does this work with Supply & Demand? If you've got a bunch of people who want to work job A, but not so many people who want to work job B, they will need to offer a higher wage for job B to get more and better candidates. If your 'worth' calculation artificially changes this, you might get lots more people applying for your traditionally female job and no one applying for the traditionally male job.

Looking forward to seeing this and glad Nick is making sure that Brian Jones is not gonna be the forgotten hero of the Rolling Stones. Which sadly does seem to be the case amongst the younger generation of music lovers in record land. No not the legions of fans on here who still love and try and keep Brian Jones' name alive but sadly, I've encountered it myself. Many people don't know who he is. While many Rolling Stones fans still think Brian couldn't write songs which is also untrue. Here's a rough mix cover version of one of Brian Jones' own compositions by The Damned's keyboardist Monty Oxymoron. Taken from the forthcoming coming Brian Jones Tribute Album. Keith Richards admits in his book he does not know how to read or write music. It was Jones that wrote the lyrics as well as the music to most Stones classics. Jagger/Richards is a farce for the most part. They almost never charted nearly as well, and then only here and there over the rest of their career's. The level of musical sophistication is self evident then.

Brian couldn't sing, write lyric ,was a woman basher,a liability for the band and a flop by 1969 he couldn't get a visa to tour, no one in they right mind could see him playing on the stage inv1969 your of America instead of Mick Taylor.. this tour made them back as the greatest rock and roll band in the world and would get better and better the stones owned the 70s their music was better stickey fingers and exile are classes that Jones could cope with. Who could see Jones playing on some girls!! A fantastic album...Jones time had come and gone he hated satisfaction and you reckon he wrote it your fucked in the head kind regards Roy Bennett Wollongong NSW Australia

@@RoyBennett-dz2cq Sorry, Roy, you are incorrect. The band never charted as well since Exile on Main St.onwards. Different release dates are in evidence. Brian Jones was on Sticky Fingers. I knew him well, and in fact know the Stones personally as well as all the Beatles. Your "qualifications" foul mouthed one? The average fan does not know about it, but music insiders do. This is their last tour, they are just too old and it shows.

So Simon Cowell signed her, but they never mentioned why Simon Cowell also dropped her prior to any release, etc.. I suspect they figured they can not make any money off this artist. She's a decent singer I suppose, but likely would not appeal to a pop audience.

Such a soft spoken voice, for a lady that had a 2 mile high voice back then. Ironically, she left out the only guitar player with the talent to match her voice. None the less, the Headpins was one of the most under rated Canadian bands in history. Right up there with Triumph and others.
