Welcome to our metal detecting channel. Tom started with the Nokta Makro Simplex in 2020. He now owns an XP Deus 2 and is enjoying learning the machine. Marie has been steadily getting into detecting and now owns her very own Deus! Join us as we head out for adventures in the Lake District and beyond!

I've been really struggling trying to secure a permission near me. I live in a small village with no public transport, so my options are pretty limited. The local farmer is not of the sunniest disposition and I got a flat no from him. I've spent the night writing letters because there's nothing worse than a big long walk and nobody's home. Oh well, back to it tomorrow. Wish me luck
@@thatbloodyjohnloader2826 all the best of luck to you! It’s the hardest part of the hobby but don’t give up. Once you get that yes it’s the best feeling! But do be prepared to expand your radius. My first permission was about a half hour drive away. Join some local groups too for some advice!

@Treasurehuntingwithtomandmarie yeah there is a group that an old mate of mine goes with. Just a bit nervous at the thought of asking strangers for lifts. I'm sure I'll pluck up the courage soon like

@@michiganjems no! I had to Google it as not heard of that one! We pretty much did cedar point then off to Missouri after 3 days!

You went all American. Restroom, fries, what next 😂. I'm not really a coaster fan, only ridden at thorpe park, but I can certainly appreciate your passion for them. Are food and drinks ridiculous prices like our theme parks? I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment in a few days. BTW, I don't think I've seen Marie so happy, not even when she found a hammy 😂
@@stuarthumphrey1787 haha! Lots of things make her happy, and the high sugar content helps 😂 Food/drink is and it isn’t. Like a bottle of water seems excessive at $6 a bottle or a fruit cup at $7 as a snack. But then a main meal with a drink can be as low as $12 which for a theme park is really good. Lots has gone up though, bags of crisps are expensive since we last visited. But then other candy is quite cheap 😂 depends where you go I guess :)

I'm still giggling that you were so tickled about the fireflies. I float in my backyard pool and watch them all summer long. They really are magical. I've been very lucky to grow up with CP as my home park and definitely I took it for granted for a long time that all parks were as great as this one. It has never been lost on me, though, that CP is magical. The fireflies are just nature's glitter. Fairy dust in the air of the enchanted kingdom. I'm going back myself next week for a day. Once you get roller coasters in your blood, you're hooked for life. I am so glad you enjoyed your trip. Catch ya next time. RIDE ON!
@@lisastackpoole1107 they were so cool :) we saw a lot of wildlife on the trip that we just don’t get in the uk. A groundhog, raccoons, a hummingbird, a snake and loads more. I love it all :) it must be awesome to live so close to the point! I’d be there every weekend if I did 😂 thank you so much for watching! @@TheDukesOfDerbyshire I know you’ve not seen her for a while but that wasn’t Marie 😂 that was our friend Erin! And yes I absolutely love theme parks. One of my biggest hobbies is going to parks and riding coasters. It would be my specialist subject if I ever did mastermind 😂

There's another 2 Cedar Point videos! One in 3 days, another in 6 :) I was the happiest I had been in a very long time! Honestly I had wanted to visit Cedar Point for so so long and everywhere I looked were rides that I have only seen on KZread! I still smile thinking back about it! Can't wait to go back!

oooh no! I can't be eating gherkins!! Or pickles in the US... are they the same thing? Yuck! :D Next one should be dropping on Tuesday, i've made the first 4, spreading them out every 3 days! @@stuarthumphrey1787 You'll never know if you don't try! This trip was unusual for us. Normally we book a "package" through virgin, hotels/flights/car etc all in one go. But this trip we had to separate everything out and book everything individually. It worked but took some good organising to do it! Flying is a breeze. We had some turbulance on the way back which was a bit unsettling but its only dangerous in extremely rare cases. Give it a go mate! What have you got to lose!

Awesome stuff mate, I'm still yet to find a George III shilling I have found 1 sixpence. The Viccy sixpence was gorgeous and loved the 4 leaf clover I have a tattoo of one on my arm and a 4 leaf clover coin in my wallet where it's been for 20 years.

Not 100% silver. 92.5% silver. And you should NEVER rub the dirt across them. It’s like rubbing them with fine sandpaper. NO ! Rinse them carefully with water and pat them dry with a soft cloth or paper towel.
You got me on the percentage. But the amount of abuse the coins get in the ground already, a gentle rub isn’t hurting them that much! You should use distilled water too…

Sounds just like me!I have always loved wolves since i was a little kid.Especially the way they walk,their gait,sooooo graceful and elegant but that makes obvious their pure strenght and power.Have yourselves a howl of a time,guys.Now you know why,I for one am absolutely DISGUSTED with that wyoming s,o,b who tortured&killed that wolf cub.
We had an amazing time with these gorgeous wolves! I hope to go back and see them one day. I’m sorry I’m not familiar with the Wyoming incident but it sounds horrible :( why people have to do bad things to animals I’ll never know :( Thank you for watching 🙏

Hi thanks for the useful information I intend to record, document and upload my detection adventures through social media. Do you mention this when asking for permissions? Any tips
I used to but would often get met with strange looks and been told by other KZreadrs not to worry about this! As long as you’re respectful and don’t advertise where you are you should be ok! Some farmers don’t really understand KZread and social media and it could scare them off! Obviously if they see you recording and ask you not to then you should respect their wishes!
