Hi! Cabinet jacks can be found at your local hardware store or online, but they are not included with the unit itself. No upper components of the unit need to be removed to install it to the cabinet. - Hauslane

What’s Hausline’s opinion on semi-rigid duct? I thought that was highly discouraged now due to build up of grease and lesser durability

Hauslane recommends for best overall longevity to use rigid duct. that being said, you will want to discuss with your contractor or installer what the necessary duct material is needed for any particular setup. Additionally, some building codes have restrictions on duct type, so make sure you are complying by local building code requirements. - Hauslane
THANK YOU This helped so much. My stove vent was gross (1st time changing it since moving in and I suspect much longer). There were 2 sets of filters for some reason. 1 was black mesh with some kind of indicator strip. It was torn with tan, brown, clear goo, pink, and black crud. I tossed that 1. The aluminum one cleaned up amazing with your reciepe! That was after scrubbing it 2 other ways. I'm assuming there is only supposed to be 1 filter with this smaller range model. Not 2 stacked on top of each other...
The fans themselves are the filters? The filtering strategy is to have grease and crud accumulate on the fan blades, then melt it off the fan blades with the steam cleaning feature? There is no separate, removable, manually cleanable filter?

@@Hauslane I like the clean look of the PS38 but don't really understand how the single flat panel would be as effective catching grease as more conventional baffles, like the PS18. The inclusion of the steam cleaning feature in this design, and the advice to use it twice a month, suggest that this design likely does send more grease up through the fans. Or is there more going on here than I am noticing? Thanks.

Did the auto clean feature 2 consecutive and was not satisfied. Then I added 3 drops of dawn to hot water and did the cycle again, then another cycle to rinse off the soap. The fans and grates are now sparkling clean. But then again you have to clean all other surfaces manually. I ran the fans at max for a few minutes to dry everything off after.
Extra pepper
Mashed potato soup... for potato soup. Just cube up your potatoes choice of meat. Usually burger. Chopped yellow or white onion. Build it until your potatoes naturally come apart. Salt and pepper to taste.
Just installed my PS-38 and love it. Preparation is critical to a successful installation. Before installing the unit, must mark the 4 screw holes on the bottom of the wall cabinet and make sure they are unobstructed and can provide enough support to the weight.
I lpst the 3 screws that screw thethe metal fan cover. How do i get replacements?

I don’t want to drill through the cabinet for the electrical. I can easily install a recessed in wall outlet to plug in behind it, but I want to know if I can relocate the electrical to run out the back instead of out the top? I haven’t got it yet, so I’d like to know
Hi! It may prove difficult to switch the plug to lead out through the back, and may require modifying the unit. We would recommend getting the advice of a certified electrician before any changes are made to the outlet. - Hauslane
@@Hauslane Electrical work is not an issue. I can cut the plug off and hardwire into the outlet box. I just need to know if I should order a different fan if the wire cannot go out back without butchering the fan box.

Hi - if the filters are not able to be removed easily, then your filter might be in backwards with the handles facing up. In order to remove backwards filters, you will need a flathead screwdriver or a tool to pry the filter free. If the filter is installed correctly with the handles visible, you should have no trouble removing them. - Hauslane

Hmm. That is a good question! I probably wouldn't use just plain water, since the stock is going to give the soup flavor. A good chicken broth substitute is white wine or a combination of water with 1 tablespoon of olive oil or melted butter! - Hauslane

Definitely false advertisement! The suction can not even hold a thin paper towel! I wonder if there is a lawsuit against them! Wasted $450 + $300 installation fee .

This was very well done. Very nice ad. Just got the PS38. Can't wait to set it up. The area I just cleaned where my moms old range hood and oven was located was absolutely disgusting. Grease and grime coated everywhere because it wasn't installed right. I wish I knew just how bad this was earlier. What a disaster. Not anymore.
