    I guess the biggest problem is the weight capacity of husky boxes. The US General casters hold over 6k, more than alot of SnapOns

  • @199jl
    @199jlАй бұрын

    As a much more tooled up journeyman technician, the box is ok. Weight as you add more can become an issue. You have vastly less in yours than I do and all but one of my drawers have held up. Again, weight after a point will become an issue in that box where is lesser heavy metal construction. As a newer tech I would say it's a much better choice for a box than someone at my stage of the career. That would be a GREAT home box for doing personal work and some side jobs. Also, depending on what type of technician you are will determine what the limit that box will be able to keep up to. As an automotive and truck/ transport tech is less box for my purpose even if it's done well for me for the passed 2.5 years. That box is destined to become my home box once I go to my potential final box set from Styrke Industries. The build quality of those is vastly better than the Husky 80" but still far cheaper than a box off any tool truck brand.

  • @AnthonyCessor
    @AnthonyCessorАй бұрын

    Each to their own, my box has officially filled up since I made this video, still going strong to this day. I personally don't think weight will be an issue. Drawers seem to be taking the extra weight just fine and I even tend to sit on the bottom drawers sometimes, I do a little more diagnostic stuff but occasionally do heavy line and have no problems. I agree that possibly a "professional box" will probably hold up better in the longer term jammed up with tools, but that has not been the case for me. In my opinion, all these big boxes do is hold tools and stay stationary. If this box does fail me though I will be looking at Icon boxes since they are not too expensive compared to SnapOn.

    @AnthonyCessor believe it or not.... the stacked top drawer of sockets isn't where mine failed.... it's the 4th drawer down on the left side of the box filled with pliers and long extensions. Over time me having the large impact sockets I do, that drawer is gonna fail. Hopefully not soon but that box of mine is very full. It's a shame the pro series husky boxes only just came out. Those also are a far better and bigger box for a great price point. Again will never match price with the 80" though. Dollar for dollar the 80" Husky is hard to beat

    I would like to add that off camera I ordered a new timing chain and tensioner and replaced it before installing the engine back in the car. At the time of this comment I officially hit 1000 miles on the engine and the engine is running very smooth and strong and glad to say even with the loss of the Triple Webers. The combination of a rebuilt engine, slightly higher compression and very mild headwork, I can confidently say this is the fastest and smoothest the car has ever been.

    Hey bro, love your work. Engine and car both look great :) I just wanted to point out the crack between the intake and exhaust valves at 14:16 in case you didn't notice and end up having any problems down the road. My head ended up having coolant leaking into the exhaust from the same crack that actually ran right up into the exhaust port. Hopefully yours doesn't, but now you know :)

    Good eye. Yes this was something I was aware of during my rebuild however the engine was running fine with no coolant evaporating before the rebuild according to the previous owner when I asked him and so far the car has been running strong with the rebuild and no signs of coolant evaporating still. My goal is the eventually swap this head with another head down the road when I start to run into issues. I suspect I won't run into any major problems for awhile though. Thanks for the comment!

    My solution the liner issue was using 3m adhesive spray. Put something heavy on one side of the drawer and then roll back the liner from the other half. Spray the 3m spray adhesive and let it tack. Put it down and move the heavy object to the newly adhesive area and then roll up the other side. Key is not to go crazy with the glue but this solution has worked really well for me. Great vid and thanks for sharing.

    I know the tnumbnail on the vid is modified. But if kia really made that color for this car, with tinted windows and tail lights, for likethe scorpion edition, it would look very nice. The only thing about this car i think kia couldve improved on is the gas tank size. I think it has a capacity of 15.6 gallons. Imo, thats a bit small for a car ofthis size. Its only about 2 gallons bigger than my compact corolla. This at least should have an 18 or 19 gal tank

  • @AnthonyCessor
    @AnthonyCessor6 ай бұрын

    That's the original ceramic silver, color hasn't been modified. Tinted windows is something people are going to do anyways or can be installed by a dealership. Tinted tail lights is technically illegal. I agree however, I think 18 gallons would make more sense. The tank can carry 16 gallons. That's the most I've been able to put into the car.

  • @blackice7408
    @blackice74086 ай бұрын

    @AnthonyCessor I know. But in the thumbnail of your vid, you put a colored filter over it that made it look tan. I was just saying that if kia made that color in real life for the stinger, that would've been cool. I didn't know tinted taillights were illegal. Land rover has one of their suvs with tinted taillights from the factory. Also I've seen many chargers and challengers with tinted taillights over em. I think as long as the light can shine thru with a certain brightness, its OK. It would stretch the road trip distance before refueling by a longshot

  • @AnthonyCessor
    @AnthonyCessor6 ай бұрын

    @@blackice7408 The thumbnail picture of my car has no filter on it. I took the picture during a specific hour (Golden hour) that helped with lighting. At least in California, it's illegal, I can't speak for other states. Factory is okay, any outside modifications to decrease light visibility from factory is illegal. Will depend on if the cop wants to pull you over for it or not. I can drive from LA to Vegas and still have about 60-80 miles of range left. My previous car which was a 2016 Corolla gave me about 40-50 miles of range so personally I don't think it's all that bad

  • @AnthonyCessor

    One of my co workers has an Icon box, slightly smaller than what I have at 56 inches. He spent upwards of 5k for the Box, hutch and locker combo which is a lot better compared to Snapon for the size. Quality is good too. Not sure I would consider a smaller box that cost more money an upgrade especially when losing out on some features the husky box has. I would definitely consider the 73in Icon box being slightly less than 6k is is still cheaper than the smallest Snapon offering with a hutch and locker (and 0% interest with payments) but I have no interest in getting another box soon and my box still works and operates just as good as the day I got it.

  • @jacobe1942
    @jacobe19426 ай бұрын

    @@AnthonyCessor the 56 would be a good size for me, but the 73 bottom can be had for under 2000 on scratch and dent, a good start to an Icon platform. add on a credit card first time use 10% discount and its the price of a us general.

  • @AnthonyCessor
    @AnthonyCessor6 ай бұрын

    @@jacobe1942 As of right now my husky box is almost maxed out on storage space. Now in all fairness I could get rid of some junk in it. However going to a smaller box is not an option for me now. I did see a couple below 2k for the 73 inch which is a good deal assuming the damage isn't extensive, when you add the hutch and locker will be around 3k area with discount which is arguably very good. Still a massive difference compared to the $800 I got my husky box for with the dent. I would be in the market possibly for the Icon box in the future when I would want a big tool box in my garage and have a reason to get another box for sure.

  • @AnthonyCessor
    @AnthonyCessor6 ай бұрын

    Thanks man, you have a pretty sweet combination. The p90 head is a low compression head but your flattop pistons helped a lot. If I had to guess your compression is somewhere between 8.4 to 8.7 depending on your head gasket and how much material was removed from your block and head. I'll miss my triple Weber's but I think I'll enjoy the drivability of the OEM FI.

    Thanks for doing a great detailed review! Do you by any chance live in Santa Clarita??? Gorgeous stinger! It's great to see Borla finally release a valved system for the 2022+ stingers especially because the beauty tips will not fit the original borla s-type. I have a 2023 GT2 stinger with the original borla s-type with exhaust tips that is really necessary to reduce drone. I had to get the tips with custom piping to make the tips fit better and be straight. After watching this video I must say the original borla system might be slightly louder + has more burbles (I do have K&N typoon intakes tho so that might make it louder). All depends on the individual what they want. In comfort mode its fairly quiet but oh man in sport/custom mode it is absolutely glorious sounding; almost borderline louder than many might want. I had the MBRP pro which I think was far too quiet and didn't have the growl and burbles the original borla has. That's another thing I think I noticed from the video; lack of burbles but sometimes its hard to judge from a video. I was waiting for borla to release a system for the 2022+ stingers but I am still extremely happy with the original s-type and will stick to it. Borla makes this car sounds SO EXOTIC I love it!

    Glad to have a detailed video for the community. I think every exhaust video should have at least one long video like this in detail to help everyone make a better decision. Yes I do live in Santa Clarita and also Simi Valley. Thank You! I actually finally had the chance to hear the original Borla system and to my untrained ears both sounded similar in sport mode and were just as loud, however my car for whatever reason has more burbles than the other car I was in. Not sure why as I have drop in filters only. The main reason I contacted Borla was because I wanted something louder than what MBRP offered but retain some comfort. This hit the nail in the coffin for me. For some people it might not be loud enough and thats where high flow cats can come into play. The burbles are 100% not picking up in video. Gotta trust me on that one. I actually was not expecting the amount of burbles I do have. You mainly hear them at lower speeds. I also occasionally get pops that lead to burbles. But 100% it sounds really exotic which also surprised me because a lot of Stingers I heard don't.

The car is amazing so far, but I have the urge to upgrade the exhaust system. I'm a bit hesitant, mainly because of warranty. Do you know how that would work? I'm seeing mixed responses online and was wondering if you can give an insight on this. Also, do you know how this compares to the MBRP option? I think some people are saying it's in between the stock and Borla in terms of loudness(?). Which would you say has a deeper tone? Or would I need to add in other kinds of mods for that along with the exhaust upgrade?
