This was exactly what I thought should have happened and, it would have made sense with everything leading up to it. The Night King's powers should have been mass worging into the dead and, only someone as powerful as Bran would have had that kind of potential. I thought that's what we were going to get back in the day with things like discovering he could worg into humans, being branded by the Night King. Being able to influence the past. Even imagine him worging into the Mad King, worging into Daenerys to torch King's Landing. All to weaken Westeros for a final battle of dead vs. living and to pass the torch to his past self before The Night King was finally slain once that torch was passed and his job was done.

this theory could still be true, since the world bran is building is supposed to resemble ours. if that's the case, it will only lead to global capitalism and mass exploitation, meaning the night king is just ahead of the game at creating zombies who whole-heartedly support his ideals whilst still being disheveled human corpses. big brain analysis

Everyone thinks the last few episodes ruined the show. But when you think about it Danaerys goes mad as almost all Targaryen's do (from stories sprinkled out through the show) She became part of the wheel she had so hoped to crush. Katlyn Stark mentioned Bran the builder being one of the first Stark men. Bran ending up ruler of the seven kingdoms has much to rebuild after everything. And who is more fitting for that than him, The one who can see the past and all the mistakes made. I hated the end of the show came to the end it did. But I understand why the writers did it. They brought everything back full circle so to speak. At least in the grand scheme of things.

So bran stayed too long in the night kings mind after he was crowned king and this led him to understanding his true purpose, being the night king and ensuring he did everything as the NK did as he is now him. Putting Westeros on its path to being a more noble and just place

You can clearly see the face of the man becoming the night king not beeing Bran at all. Plus the night king dies because of overconfidence, which is a human flaw, while Bran has less emotion than a wight after he becomes the 3 eyed raven. They were just lucky that the guy Leaf turned into the night king probably was an ancestor of hodor. If he had been an ancestor of Lyanna Mormont instead he would have used Bran as a towel for his feet
