If it's only 1/8 mile, then the last run where the blue 409 Impala would have turned in a 6.9 + 6.9 = 13.8 sec. quarter which is about right. Depends on whether he had the single quadrajet 390 hp or the dual quad 409 hp. I'm a little fuzzy on my 409's. Even at 70, they were just a tad before my time and therefore knowledge about these cars when they were new.

They had to cause most of the Chevys couldn't handle a 1/4. GM is junk, Mopar could have been a good 1/4 mile.

Yes, 1/8th mile. Always preferred this to the quarter. More cars could run thru hourly and easier on the cars, too. Besides, a car that's leading at the eighth usually won in the quarter.
