A potent combination of ammonia, ethanol, or other strong-odor chemicals, so potent they can revive anyone who's fainted edit: so just found out that flaming fire flakes are so hot and spicy that there are contests to see how many people can eat before they pass out from the heat, and they were actually banned in Omashu as "contraband" XD I can only imagine how it was for poor Sokka, someone who grew up in an area that I imagine has little access to spices and therefore probably burned tf out of his tongue

  Oh my gosh. I literally get so annoyed with ppl who get annoyed with Katara about bringing up her mom. like what do y’all want her to do? if something comes up in conversation, it comes up in conversation. Also Sokka and Katara’s experience with Kia’s death is different (Sokka is boy so he reacts differently to things than how girls do and Katara actually saw Kia right after she was murdered) which is why Sokka doesn’t really bring it up (he also just probably really doesn’t want to talk about it) Katara pretty much saw her mother get *murdered* and she was, I think 6 or 7 at the time. like, can you even imagine at that age seeing your mom in your house with a strange man yelling and than next thing you know she’s dead. And I don’t know how the guy killed her, like if he burned her or stabbed her or something, but whatever it was it was probably SUPER TRAUMATIC for little Katara to see. Also Katara knows Kia protected her, so she probably thinks it’s all her fault. And for how much Katara really needs to talk it out, she doesn’t bring it up as much as you think she would, she does it only when the conversation prompts it and the time in between the episodes is pretty decent so she’s not even bringing it up *all the time* sorry for ranting

  Man thank you for moving on in life. Seeing you uploading videos sometimes made me anxious that you were trying to do something which is not meant to be and depriving yourself of what you can be. It really feels great to see you grow in life man. It makes me both sad and happy you leave youtube. But I would rather see you have a happy life than feel happy to see you on youtube.   i think that korra has every right to be pissy, her father and tenzin have tried to control her for her entire life. yes, they have a GREAT reason as we learn in s3, but to korra, she is just being held back continually by the people who are supposed to believe in her the most. all the avatars before her have made decisions for themselves, decided who their mentors are and where they go, but she has never been given that privilege. it’s no wonder she clings to unalaq’s words and manipulation so fast, she just wants someone to believe that she can be the avatar, the only thing she has EVER wanted to be

  The reason the Fire Nation is so advanced in their tech is because they're in an Industrial Revolution, and it makes sense theyd be the first. They can control heat and fire and live on a volcanic island chain, they were bound to invent steam engines first, and thats a whole gateway in and of itself. The Fire Nation is actually based off Imperial Japan, which also explains why theyre advanced yet rigidly strict

  19:52 nah, a dormant volcano should have an empty crater. The magma chamber is waaaaay down under the surface, meaning when it's dormant like they said theirs was (the magma chamber isnt full, its calm, theres little activity, but its not the same as an extinct volcano, which has completely gone out, its hotspot turned off or moved (yes, thermal hotspots in the mantle move around, its why the Hawaiian archipelago appears curved, the Hawaiian hotspot has been moving southeast), the crater of a dormant volcano should be full of rocks and ash piled up like sand. If a volcano's crater is full, it means the magma chamber is overflowing and the volcano is active and ready to erupt.
