Battle Guide

Military History from a whole new perspective

Battle Guide Virtual Tours was born from a collaboration between historians and battlefield guides across the globe who have a passion for military history and a joint desire to share that knowledge and enthusiasm with a worldwide audience. Traditionally the experience of visiting battlefields has been one which has not been available to all. A great number of limitations, be they geographical, occupational or financial have always existed, and for that reason, many people find themselves unable to make a journey to physically visit a historic site (a journey we would certainly recommend).

Why weren't 60lb unguided rockets used. Both Typhoons and Mossies could sport those and they might have caused less collateral damage than 500lb bombs. The local historian Ducellier thought this operation was not all it seemed and that it might have been carried out on behalf of MI6 as part of the "Body Guard of lies" deception operations in advance of D-Day to convince the Germans that the landing was to take place in the Pas-De-Calais.

Let’s not forget, the SS were Germans with a few other recruits from other countries, also the Nazis were Germans , not a different race or country.

Can you imagine if the Biden Administration had be in charge of America back then. We would have had to stop the war, take all munitions away from our troops, send the Germans new supplies and ammunition and a chance to dig in.

Thank you for commemorating the illegal invasion of Turkey and the British Empire sending poor Australian and New Zealand colonist descendants already dealing with genocide of the people of those countries now doing the same in Turkey. War crimes galore

My great grand uncle was in the 10th West Yorkshire, 12433 Pte William Holt and died 1st of July in the attack on Fricourt just down the road, sadly his body was never recovered and still rests in the field to this day with his name being on the Thiepval Memorial, it brings great sadness to me knowing that he perished in such a pointless war but also great pride that all those who were there were fighting for what was at the time the greater good.

Repeated attempts by a father to pull strings with powerful friends to send his beloved son to his death , a decision he regretted until he died . That’s the lesson of war !

22:17 Minutes in you show the main route of KG Peiper. According to Reynolds the Spitze element went slightly further north, to Losheim Church took a left towards Lanzerath. The road with a pronounced S bend. See Day 3, Peiper's Route, Scheid to Stavelot 5min, a video with Jay Karamales. There is a stark difference between the camcorder approach those guys had to the technology you are able to deploy today. The drone footage and use of google earth are transformational. Keep up the great work. And everyone watching should consider becoming a Patreon, fabulous channel.

Le régiment Azov de l'armée ukrainienne arbore fièrement les symboles et logos de la division SS "Das Reich", cela semble ne gêner personne, même en France.

Well South Germany: Vosges looking down the Rhine, northern Germany: Flat land till Harz mountains Hürtgenwald, a hilly, area with a peat moore and big woods and the Wehrmacht Artillery exercise area ... So again the question? Why go there?

"At what cost?" 60% casualties may be a terrible ratio, but in terms of actual lives lost, it is dwarfed by bombing missions, capital ships being sunk, or conventional land battles. And it succeeded, when sometimes, many of those other actions didnt.
