What they are not telling you.... Previously all "Diesels" pre 1997 were exempt. It is funny that this video only talks about commercial vehicles. Guess what? THIS INCLUDES PRIVATELY OWNED MOTOR HOMES. Owners older motorhomes which have diesel pusher engines will have to take the emissions test and unless they can pay for a new engine they will NOT be allowed to register their motorhomes, All large Diesel Pushers built Pre- 20008 sitting in driveways will fail the emissions test. So all you retirees grab you ankles because California just took your motorhome!

Money gab. Guarantee if you cant pass you pay and along you go. California has been mis managed for decades with increasingly crazy laws. Electrifying is a joke and there is zero possibility that this state can keep up or even meet the objectives these law makers dream about in their out of reality brains that keep them breathing. Clean air diesels including one I drive for a living will burn 10+ gallons of fuel to regenerate the Def system they require. Cant idle but I can regenerate for an hour. Never mind the diesel being burnt to generate power and accumulating minerals to make batteries we cannot effectively recycle.
My company just put these bullshit cameras in our trucks. All these things do is raise anxiety and make you focus on if you are making the camera happy. The following distance feature is full of shit. This shit also told me to "slow down" when I was going UP the on-ramp to the highway which had NO posted speed limit and I was only going 35mph. I also caught it lying when I was going through a 65mph posted speed limit - I had my cruise control on at 65 and it told me to slow down. We have a points system with this bullshit - devices like this are only to fire people.
Thanks for your experience. Have your company's point system affected you negatively? I am curious how the point system works. We try to push carriers to implement a positive reward system and learning tool versus a firing tool.
@@CNSCompanies yes it has effected us negatively. Our points start at 1000. We have to maintain an 850 or higher for 2 weeks. If below 850 we get demerits. The points system are not clear either. I was told its worse to work only 1 or 2 days vs 8 to 10 days. No idea how the points are calculated. Tomorrow im gonna call the jack ass in charge of this invasion of sanity. For some reason he says U Turns are illegal . I lookeed up Texas law and for a Box Truck its only illegal if you are in a NO U TURN ZONE or if it will impede traffic. I have been making the same U turn for 6 years and have actually had multiple cops U-Turn behind and infronrt with me and not once have they stopped me or said anything.

Let's try to say the same thing .... Holding a phone while driving is not illegal. Why? Because it's just an object. Like a cup. Can you hold a cup of coffee with at least one hand while driving? Sure. Hold some food? Yes... The entire definition clearly implies that you can hold a phone but cannot make a call. You can touch it to make a call by only pressing a single button....well screens don't have buttons. So .. for arguments sake, I can touch my screen all day long...as much as I want, I just can't dial a phone number or initiate a text. The last one is easy, if I can remain seated with the seat belt on and I reached for the phone, then yes I can grab it and hold it, press one button and say hey Google call my job!!! Or hey Google, open KZread and play music or whatever etc.

What does FMCSA work history regulation have anything what so ever have to do with SAFTEY. I just got my Commercial Lermner Permit for class A and I can't get into any trucking companies school because I don't have 3 continuous work history at 1 job. I feel like I wasted my time and money on getting class A CDL learner Permit and DOT physical. FMCSA RULES ARE NOT RIGHT AT ALL. I know this don't have nothing to do with this video but FMCSA SUCKS!!!
They put anyone behind the wheel. Almost 35 yrs with 1 fender bender and it was from a none speaking person and it was her fault..they can't speak it they can't read it

I’m a retired CDL driver now and back to a class C license. When you pass everything and get your CDL and sign the paperwork you are a CDL driver 24-7 until you revert back to a Class C license.. First your are held to a .04 blood alcohol level all the time no matter what. Then theirs the DOT medical card and physical exam to. I don’t know how some of these CDL drivers pass their DOT because of the weight-??, I see a lot of CDL holders massively overweight and obese. I don’t know how they get away with it , personally. Top of the hit parade is weight, cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea just to name a few. I watch a lot of videos on the net about truckers doing stupid stuff and the first thing I noticed is their weight, overweight and gut. As also a mechanic for a major trucking company years ago a lot of drivers coming into the shop where majorly overweight. So there are hundreds of ways to loose your CDL.

It should be. Now DOT can use a mouth swap to see if you've smoked in the passed 9 to 24 hours. That's the way it should be. But yet drinking is ok?
