Great jog, however your photograph of the cane train at 17:52 is not Barbados. It is (c.1935) of Hawaii, Oahu. The Steam train hauling sugar cane, is a black and white postcard from Hawaii. For some reason, this photo is often confused for Barbados although such an engine did not operate in Barbados.

Thanks. I knew it wasn't a photograph taken in Barbados, but I couldn't find one showing sugar cane being transported by a train. It is however a good representation of what took place.

I have been looking for a photograph of a train in Barbados hauling cane to factory for many years without success. I’m beginning to believe that only manufactured sugar was carried to Bridgetown from the factories along the line and cane to factory was only ever carried by animal cart. Never mind, nice presentation all the same.

Mike Wilkinson ,the ultimate entertainer, one of the pioneers of the musical scene of Barbados,he was the first crowned Calypso monarch of the island; Mike Wilkinson was known as our Nat Cole , yes he possess the voice. We owe him also, the entertainment industry recognizes his contribution to the building of it's growth,if not those that control it,the. The unforgettable smooth, sometimes ruckus sounds of the Caribbean, the Merrymen led by Emile Straker kept Caribbean dancing for decades, the played to SRO crowds wherever they appeared, the Merrymen tkts.were hard to come by at any venue, they were booked in Canada by top hotels & clubs,Barbados and the Caribbean owes a debt to the Merrymen, they bought thousands of visitors to the Caribbean shows, our thanks.

5 months later but this is an excellent presentation, Barbados hasn't had a *devestating* Hurricane Janet in 1955 but I wonder why no one ever speaks about Hurricane Allen in 1980 given it was so close to Barbados in proximity
