    Good rework on a bad pond, such large koi in a pond not deep enough the pump pit was deeper. How you made the intake bay it will need cleaning regularly to much fish s**t will destroy the nitrogen cycle.. and make methane

    Hello, so I have been in the construction business a LONG time, I have flipped so many homes it's crazy. However your supply list has me a smidge confused. You are using the tankless water heater to heat up the water going into the hot tub. But after the water is exposed to the air and usage, when the temperature drops what is being used to cycle heat the standing water or is it constantly draining and filling with hot water from the tank less? Very curious, love how this works, definitely going to steal your idea and make one for my family. I love it. Just not u persuading the above

  • @Red.Scapes
    @Red.Scapes14 күн бұрын

    Hi, yes, the water constantly runs from the hot tub via the skimmer into the tankless water heater and back into the hut tub. I did end up getting a auto temp controller (bayite Temperature Controller BTC201) that cuts the power to the thankless when watet in the hottub reaches a set temperature. Thanks for watching, and good luck with your project and I would love to hear how it turned out!

    The fish have a tendency to mess around with the plants, pull them, try to eat them, and so on. So they should be planted in pots in order to last. Also some (like water lilies) might be invasive and spread too much.Thanks for watching!

    Question : since the rocks are directly under the sun, they will heat the water and algeas will grow back ?!! Has for the surrounding, the grass will grow until the edge of the pound and there is the risk of cutting the membrane while cutting the grass ?!

  • @Red.Scapes
    @Red.Scapes2 ай бұрын

    If you have good water circulation and an established ecosystem with enough water plants, then alge won't thrive. As far as the sides around the pond, as I said in the video, they were planning to build a walkway/patio and also plant some bushes and plants all the way around. Thanks for watching!

    So did you run a line from the intake to the bog plant side? Does it only run to the bog, or to the other streams? How many pumps do you have going? Need details! Lol😂

  • @Red.Scapes
    @Red.Scapes2 ай бұрын

    Yup, both bogs get fed from the intake bays. The zero edge intake bay feeds the forest side bog and the new big one by the bridge feeds the new hot tub side bog.. The deck waterfall also gets fed from the new intake bay. I have a total of 3 pumps running.

  • @Sea-cucumber1151

    First I didn’t know hostas like wet feet! Good to know, and I dint know if that was creeping Jenny, ( I do love how creeping Jenny will grow well under the water as well) or thyme on the sides or maybe both but absolutely love both and it is gorgeous. I also love your more natural falls, not a giant fake behemoth but multiple falls. And how it appears to creep out from under the deck, how far does it go under? And how the bridge is over more shallow water so if any one “little” falls in it’s not so scary. Your plants etc are all gorgeous. Dream escape backyard! Only thing I would have done different and the only thing is the clean out pipe for the intake bay, was your 3”, I would have done at least a 6” or bigger ( they have nice elbow if needed, pipe and screw on top for the bigger ones…as it’s easier to wiggle down a water pond/pool vacuum down the pipe to get clogs, Or invasive roots! I guess you are expecting it at the wetland filter to need the clean out, so never mind. Maybe it won’t be a problem. Otherwise I love your pond everything and your way to save money! I refuse to play thousands of dollar for Aquascape snorkel, vault and crates when at Walmart those black crates are $7 or less.! ❤

  • @Red.Scapes
    @Red.Scapes2 ай бұрын

    Appreciate the kind words and glad you like the final product! We do enjoy our backyard a lot! As far as the clean outs, it's done in such a way that all you need to do is drop a sump pump once a year down the pump vault and suck out all the muck. The 6" corrugated pipe is pitched towards the pump vault so the muck has a tendency to settle at the bottom of the snorkel/pump vault. (never tried to use a vacuum, just the sump pump for cleaning) Thanks for watching!

    @@Red.Scapes well thank you, I did the pvc pipes, slits in the with a 6” snorkel for the clean out. My pond has limited space since a cement patio is built around it and I don’t have the yard. I have a pressurized filter, and pump/skimmer with both leading to the plant bog with the pvc, pvc snorkel and crates /rocks as the secondary pond cleaner. My pressurized filter has a uv light so I don’t have to worry about pea soup water. I use to have only the pressurized filters so added the bog in a 150 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank. Someday when we move to more land I will have what you did, instead of the skimmer have an intake bay and plant bog within the pond. Love what you did! So agree in the Aquascape prices and love your alternatives diy! Great sons to help! We had 4 girls! 😀
