This reminds me of tagging along to the West Coast Theater with my sister, Linda Darleen, in the 1960s. She always wanted to go see musicals at the picture show, but her dates and their friends never liked them, so she would take me, her kid sister who was eight years old. I remember, before she died in 2010, receiving a Time Life Music package with all the musical shows we went to. She died a few months later at only 68 years old. I sure miss her, and I will always think of her and the musicals we both loved to enjoy together up in that old balcony. REST IN PEACE, Linda.

TOTALLY LOVE this song. My piano teacher played it for me on her grand piano about 30 years ago from antique sheet music I bought. I totally teared up in joy! Love, love, love this gorgeous song. Thank you for your post! Wishing you a lovely Independence Day from Northern California ❤🤍💙

I heard this song in a play on the BBC radio in March 1942. When I was 8 years old I thought it was the most lovely song I had ever heard. The play was called” The Voice of Michael Vane” It as sung by different singers. I think Jo Stafford and David Hughes do an amazing rendition.

I studied music all my early life. Popular , Classic and Opera . I saw, heard and liked Oklahoma and Carusel . I was aware of and heard Gordon MacRae sing . Now for some odd reason at 80 years old I have just realized what an incredible talent Gordon MacRae was. HIs voice was a gift from God and Gordon was a gifted vocalist . I hate to use superlatives but I can't fathom how I didn't understand or recognize that when I heard Gordon at a young age , I didn't realize that I was listening to perhaps the greatest singer of that time.
