Im Michael, or as some people already know me as "G60 Michael."
I am an Aussie based G60 Patrol Owner, and fanatic. My Passion and Love for the old G60 Patrols Started as a young fella growing up, and around 14 years later the passion for the old G60's is still as strong as ever.
I've Started this channel, with the aim of helping people out where I can such as newcomers who may have just brought one and could benefit from learning some tips and tricks along the way.
I've since had my fair share of old G60s over the years, and I've had some really good times learning and enjoying them along the way. There have also been a few frustrating moments along the way, but I still keep coming back for more ha-ha.
I will also post mechanic videos aswell as talking episodes on my fleet and my projects.
The Plans to have a Good Video Platform with specifically G60 Patrol Related Content.
I also hope to meet more like-minded enthusiast to share the same passion with.
Cheers Michael

What’s the go with the tray back with the A-Frame and the wild looking bonnet?
The A Frame is there incase it's needed ect, a common sight back in the 60s and 70s. Nothing under the bonnet to require The scoop, just owners preference 🍻
@@G60_PATROL_GARAGE yeah all over an A Frame. Just wondering about the bonnet. Looks like I missed a good trip for my G60.
Looks like an awesome trip 🙂old mate in the red shorty wasn’t hanging around 😂 Love the new canopy set up on your old girl 👍
Thanks mate, yeah not mucking around in the shorty 😂 more then happy with the canopy 👌🍻
This video was super helpful for me - just got an L60 that was restored in Colombia and it's been full of surprises ... like discovering the rear brakes had been restored with Toyota parts.
Nice
Thankyou 🍻
Good Video there mate, keep em comin. 💪🏼
Cheers mate 🍻
Awesome, it's like going back in time to get a tour of this rig - she's so amazingly original!
G60- how splendid ! 🤗
Thank you from the states ! Not much in the way of videos here for our L60s ...
Freaking killer!
This is great thank you for sharing! I'm in California and will be starting on my front end soon...
Those headlight surrounds are one of the rarest parts to find aside of factory seats. Just can’t get good ones
do you have to take the brakes apart and backing plate off if only replacing the barings?
hey mate, is the bulbar original from factory?
Thanks for your effort and your work. I would like to see many more videos like this because it is so helpful for when I work on my G60
Hey man, greetings from Bolivia I am very excited for your channel. My wife and I own a G 60 and we love it. Please make videos about everything you can because there’s hardly any information on the G 60 out there!! I’m looking forward to seeing everything you post. Blessings to you
Awesome to see a G60 channel!
It’s awesome to have stories behind the vehicles. And she is old as me. She’s a beast. Very rare to have the rear tub like like that all in good condition. Really she is a time capsule good school
For sale after restoration?
You are a lucky man to find a close to rust free g60! I have a g60 swb trop carrier. has a fiber glass roof with two rows of seats in the back. left and right over the rear gards. Have recked two others for parts. they where way too gone with rust to save. one of them was a lwb ambulance. Had to drive from one end of nz to the other to get them I fuckin love these things
Awesome to hear mate, are you still in NZ? Not to many survivor G60s left over there. Would love to see some photos of the old beasts
yep still in nz! down south in dunedin. yep not that many of them over here at all. they are real bad for rust here and not many of them come here in the first place ! way more land cruisers. will try and clear some shit off it to get some photos. She is not on the road any more! waiting on me in the shed to give some more love got a td42 and 5 speed under the bench to go in it Had a ld28 in it when I got it. so not trying to go original
You need danter or electrician
Another great video mate 👍really enjoyed it,glad to hear you haven’t gone cold 🙂👍really love the G60 content 👍
Thankyou mate appriciate the feedback. Will be great to go for a drive when yours is done 🍻 cheers mate

What a legend, long live G60!@@G60_PATROL_GARAGE
Amazing old trucks. Good luck with the channel. There is a lot of love for these old girls these days. Can you give us a run down of all the vehicle specs. Can definitely tell some are on a 5 speed conversion, and other have the whiney old 3 speed. Bet those nasty drum brakes were wonderful after all the river crossings.
Good old truck my pop was telling me those gearboxes in the G60s are like a tank keep up the good work!
Thankyou mate!! The old G60s were bulletproof old 4x4s, unfortunately the rust got most of them though
Awesome video mate… and yes it was really good to bump into you and have a yarn about the good old G60s🙂👍
Thankyou for taking the time to have a yarn, cheers mate 🍻
Rippa video mate👌🏾
Cheers mate 🍻
I’ve just found your channel by accident and love it. I owned a white over red wagon I think you would call it, from memory the same wheel base as the white wagon in your high country trip. I did a lot of trips in the high country in that car travelling with my uncle in his hj45 Toyota in the late 70’s early 80’s. They were a good way to learn wheel placement and different lines. Looking forward to more episodes from you, keep up the good work 👍👍👍
Thankyou Mate!! Back in the good old days before all the $100k 4x4 kit outs, cheers mate 🍻
Love ya vids mate, keep it up, hopefully if i can find a few more parts for the old 60 and get her on the tracks, bloody keen to get her registered, then id be keen to catch up on a trip with some like minded 4x4ers
Thankyou mate, she's a cool old ute that one 👍🍻
Great video mate. It was a great trip and it was good to see all the footage again. Brought back some good memories
Thanks mate glad you liked it, get ready for the next trip
Reckon its time to grab a microphone , hard to hear you above the insects !!
Thanks for the feedback. I will look into it, Im only a hobby youtuber so no flash gear, all I used to film with is my Samsung Phone
What a breath of fresh air for the old G60. Always the bridesmaid to the Landcruiser. I bought one in 1980 to tow a 25ft. caravan which we did for 4 years travelling Oz. When I bought it a Panelbeater mate advised me to soak it in fish oil and leave it stand for a month to get the smell out which we did. The two issues with the G60 was the 3 speed gearbox and body rust. We fixed the rust issue but had to learn the 3 speed. You are spot on with manipulating the non synchro 1st gear but the torque of the 4 ltr six meant I only needed the 2 gears but when needed a swift clutch double worked well. when we finished our travels we kept the old girl for sentimental reasons but relinquished it to an avid admirer after 10 years and 150k on the clock. It was a brilliant truck and the only thing I had go wrong in the time I owned it apart from routine maintenance was a clutch slave cylinder. I don't know if you have ever noticed the 4 WD instructions on the fire wall advice the use of 4WD only for rough and SHIPPERY roads.. Love your post. It is so good to see young fellas interested in these relics.
Thanks for tuning in mate. Yep love the old G60s most under appriciated 4WD ever, as you said mate nothing ever let them down except for the Rust Issue. All the best mate 🍻
Thank you again
Cheers mate, thanks
Great video mate. I really like the simple DIY approach and good tips along the way
Thankyou mate, cheers
Well done.

Yes, great to see some G60 content, any chance you can do a vid on how the electrical system is rigged up? I bought my one in pieces and I cant get a spark in mine. Cheers
Hey mate, I'll be honest I'm hopeless with electrical work, but more then happy to scan some genuine wiring diagrams for you if you want to send me your email. Cheers mate 🍻🍻
Good man, thank you
