Great compilation! I read below the you went with the hotel chain FossHotel. Did you run into road closures that messed up your hotel bookings? Perhaps I need to call the various places to figure out how manage that risk?

We did not run into any storm severe enough to close any part of the route. The main ring road is maintained well enough. The only road that I wanted to take but could not was route 864 as it is closed during the winter. Had to go down route 87 instead which was a blessing as we could take a dip at Myvatn pool.

Hi Suresh , loved your video and great capture of all the places . We are planning to visit Iceland in Feb 2018 for a short trip of 5 days . What rental car would you suggest ? What places would you recommend as a must do as we have a very few days there ? Also where do you recommend for accommodations and northern lights viewing [this was our main intention ] I also observed a couple of places you spoke in Kannada .. are you from Karnataka ? Would be great to hear back from you guys! We have a travel channel too for more travel inspiration : kzread.info/dron/kLvTW4T8YMOa8WbefFREwQ.html

Hi Shruthi, Thanks for your kind comments. Yes, we are from Bengaluru and I assume you are from Karnataka too. As for your questions: 1. Places to visit: Bluelagoon - most people do his either when fly into Reykjavik or out as it is close to Keflavik airport. Be sure to book well in advance as they have demand pricing i.e prices go up as more people book. As you have only five days you can cover the Golden Circle (ÞingvellirNational Park, Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss waterfall) and most popular route that is the southern part of the ring road from Reykjavik to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. That should cover Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, Reynisfjara black sand beach, Reynisdrangar basalt stacks, and the site of crashed aircraft Vestrahorn at Stokksness is a little further along and you may not be able to cover it. 2. Rental Car: Check rentalcars.com . I would suggest sticking to one of the major rental companies like sixt, europcar, etc. The smaller local companies provide cheaper cars but the cars are older and may not be reliable. With only five days you will be mostly on the main roads and hence even a smaller cars should be good enough. Just make sure you do not stray even an inch off the road beyond the markers as you will sink and get stuck in the snow!! Would suggest a small SUV for a little peace of mind. 3. Hotels: I used FossHotels www.fosshotel.is/ as the chain has hotels all over Iceland. I took their self drive tour but booked the rental car via rentalcars.com. Seeing the northernlights requires a lot of luck and if you are lucky you may see it anywhere along the route as long as you are in a area that is away from light pollution. You may want to try one of the Northern lights tours. adventures.is/iceland/ www.yourperfectdayiniceland.is/ Have a great trip. It will be the trip of a lifetime! And lastly the link to your channel seems broken. It says the channel does not exist.
