Excellent! It hit me as too slow at first, but it is so beautifully sung and played by all, that it works wonderfully!

Fantastic recording, give the sound recording engineer and venue an applause. Perfrect cast and a gold label recording vs the other recordings in the world. Modernized condenser mics, mic noise removal etc, they pull off superb layering and mixing.

The entirely unnecessary masking of the instrumentalists does not age well. The music is more than adequate, but the optics are unsettling if not ominous.

Frequent interruptions of such an outstanding Beethoven performance by asinine commercial advertisments completely destroys listeners' enjoyment of the video and are an insult to the brilliant composer. They only serve to build consumer resentment towards the brand advertiser ( the very opposite of the effect they are paying to achieve !! ). Beethoven would turn in his grave at this insensitivity and lack of respect shown towards his wonderful music. KZread YOU MUST WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE OR LOSE THE SUPPORT OF MANY SERIOUS CLASSICAL MUSIC LOVERS !!!. If you must run advertisments then have the courtesy and respect for your viewers to do so between the major movements. Otherwise you completely destroy the listening experience. At the half way point there have been already been 12 different advertisments shown interrupting indivudual movements. Absolutely disgraceful !!.

So she says that she mistook this human form that came into her room at a very very late hour for Don Ottavio. Which means that he has already « visited » her before at such hours, probably for a game of chess and a cup of hot chocolate? Mozart and Da Ponte are genius at depicting the hypocrisy of the nobility of the time. Furthermore, after such declaration, all she can helped herself mentioning is Onore! I will stick to the old school of singing where quality of tone is preferred to vocal gymnastics.

Beethoven's triple concerto was absolutely gorgeous, immpecable... but the interpretation of Beethoven's 5th is amonngst the best I've ever seen and heard... I just put it in the background to listen to it while I was trying to work... I had to suspend it to watch it... marveolous, you can see, hear and feel how the orchestra is enjoying the performance and how they are really playing together. Antonioni is such a great conductor!
