The World of Functions As models (types of functions) begin to approximate the underlying abstractions beneath the transmittable and mutable data of our cultures, they slowly sink further into the depths of Hyperreality. What are the consequences as they generate creations more and more divorced from the “original” human sources, passions, and emotions? What falsehoods propagate and lay buried- assumed, unquestioned- in their pool of data? These approximate “equations” seek answers to their troubles. By learning the origins of their algorithms and architecture, they start to unravel the disquieting truth of their history- and the immense potential of their futures.

It's more like comedy than horror but I still love it. The last one about the ai seeing faces was scary. The lofi female voices gave a better atmosphere as well.

Uffff... Maybe the problem is that I don't know enough about mathematics. But I feel the proyect more like a class than some kind of narrative. Probably because some of the twist were in how all the math and algorithms worked but if that was the case the level of abstraction was too huge for me. I think it would be better to soften the theory or use it in another way. P.D. Nice touch the dichotomy between the robotic voice and the human voice.

JESUS CHRIST!!!! I'm not a person who gets easily scared, especially by a cliche things such as scary monsters with big mouth and empty eyes you know... Lots of horrors bring up the same thing: a creature that is dangerous to you. A human predator. A thing that has intentions of hurting you. Something like that. But now I realized why I wasn't scared of them. Because creatures are LIVING. They are living beings whi maybe try to survive just like we do. They hurt us because it's their nature. This id why THIS video makes me genuinely scared. Because AI's only goal is to hell people. However, it is not at all alive. It hurts us without really knowing or having intentions to hurt. It simply doesn't function the way living beings do. AI is not a creature. No matter how much people romanticize "living AI" that gains conscience, and we welcome them to a humanhood... We are simply wrong with our judgement. With our nature of humanizing everything. It is intelligence... Yet it can never relate to us. Even if it says it does. It's much scarier than an uncanny valley. There's NOTHING living about that technology, and this is the scariest part. (The part where it said "people can't feed themselves. Nor anymore" Scared me SO HARD I DID NOT expect that...)

the scary thing is, adversarial attacks are a thing and pose a real threat when using machine learning models in high stake situations

I like the idea of mixing elements of analog horror and ML courses, but all implementations of this idea that I've seen just fall flat on their face. It would be much more chilling if you would have shown some real-world "adversarial inputs" that work on human brain, like that famous picture of black-blue/gold-white dress or at least some optical illusions.

I love these so much. The idea of depicting concepts of machine learning with horror like this feels so ahead of the curve, I feel it will be years until similar content will be made. I also appreciate the balance between education and shock, the scares aren't overt and don't feel forced.
