  I just followed these instructions and it RUINED my macbook, I am locked out and unable to log back in. Stuck on Recovery Assistant saying "Failed to create activation request." There is now option to fill in Apple ID & password and I was already logged in with my Apple ID. If anyone knows something that may help let me know. Please don't follow these instructions as they have put all of my data at risk and may be lost except for what I had stored on the cloud.

  i don't know why it didn't work, i enter our wifi security key but always "mismatch" even though it's correct because i can open our wifi in google through that password

  Type password in word or text document. Then copy paste. Maybe miss type, caps lock, num lock, input language different etc...
