Writer/player/recorder of metal. And not the little flute-thing recorder. Think more like tape machine recorder, except not an actual tape machine, because those things are ungodly expensive and tough to maintain. But generally, I prefer to keep the spirit of tape alive by being so exasperated by the process of pocketing/tuning/sound-replacing that I barely ever do it.
I also build my own e-drums out of junky acoustic drums. I’ve had some great success with my kit so far, but, both fortunately and unfortunately, I live in a situation where I’m good to play my acoustic kit regularly, which really saps my motivation to keep working on and improving the e-kit. Based on my KZread views, that’s probably why you’re even reading this right now, so I really ought to re-prioritize. Expect some new stuff soon. Well, soon-ish.
I also might try my luck with making some let’s play videos of retro/retro-styled games. I waste enough time playing them as is, I may as well..

Ugly snare
Brilliantly done, quite mesmerising to watch. Hate that snare tone, though.
I have to ask… what about the snare tone do you not like?
That was pretty fantastic! Well done!
Damn good job! I like the bell at the end 😂
It was the only cymbal I had yet to hit! Had to get that little fella in there
I can't even recognize the themes most of the time. Sorry but it's bad.
Q-tips maybe?
🐓🤘
Glad to see you put that old kick to good use!
Lovin’ it 😍
Holy shit that's a great drum set, fantastic stuff dude
My bench grinder only sharpens cello endpins and lawn mower blades, haha ... good to know if I ever need to repair a cymbal, I have the tools for it :D
crisp & juicy!
Niiiiiiiiiiice bro!!

Sounds great man
Awesome song! Is there any chance you do "Breager´s Castle" next?
Eventually I’m thinking I might do an entire Gargoyle’s Quest cover album, but that will be after my current project, which is a cover album for 8 Eyes 👀👀👀👀
The Vox got me!! YES!!
90% liked the video just for the soundtrack 😂🤘
the crack i have is splitting between a lathe line at the edge, tried fixing it, and it started a slit again on the same lathe line
Radial cracks are definitely tougher to address. I wish you luck, friend ✌️
Well this was unexpected
Hilarious!
Absolutely perfect. Gave me a good laugh during the LP.
Love it
i get it
This is fucking incredible. Best cover of the best OST in gaming history. Eternal hails.
I admit, I'm about 3 years late to the party... I've subscribed. THANK YOU for this medley through Ironsword. As ambitious as the original NES soundtrack was, this just takes it to a whole other level. And I especially appreciate "WISE BIRB." Thank you for all you do! -signed, a new fan EDIT - And Jesus God, man, your CRT filter is beautiful!
Hi, first groove remind me a primus tune.
Year of the Parrot!
HOLY DIX!!
Jesus, I finally knew Eolis :D
You nail it like Uli. Great !

Extra credit for using the lower end Zildjian cymbal that you cut in the video as the soundtrack. Good work mate.
Toca moiti
Magnificent
9 years later, this is still the best drum cover of Stargazer, period.
Nice job and vid my man- Im soon to undertake my first cymbal job as to my dismay my 2 year old 20" Paiste Rude med thin crash has an edge rift- of course it happened on the last cymbal of mine I expected to ever crack (after the ride of course)
Go for it, it’s a pretty simple process all in all. Hope the video helped! Be sure to wear some earplugs/muffs, the one thing this video doesn’t capture is the sound, which is loud and grating
@@thebitterrooster right on, i shall have my eye and earballs duly protected !
This is how I always heard it in my head, awesome!!!
*Puts on my play list* thank you! great stuff.
Ey!! Man your cover makes me back in time on tose old years wen i whas a kid playing one of my favorites games ever!!🤘🤘 Saludos from México my friend
Keeping the love for this game alive, bravo!
Really enjoyed this! Loved the vibe of it! <3
Thanks man! Tried to embrace that spacey minimalism
i'm not familiar with the original, but that really cool. and the game looks really interesting. Love that Metroid vibe from the visuals.
Yeah man, the game really does a lot with a little, visually. That’s why I called it “6-bit” for the DoD title, feels almost like peak pre-NES graphics, like a really well made C64 game or something. A lot of depth to it, too
@@thebitterrooster now im interested in the game too. will try to play it. :)
I cannot even express how happy this makes me, and my inner 6 year old
Same here! 💚
Hell yeah!!! I bangged at the same time as the camera.
Does that have any noticeable effect on the sound? (I'm asking because I don't know what it sounded like before X) and am not wise in the ways of cymbals)
Not too much. Compared to its original sound, this now likely has a slightly higher pitch (less mass) and less ring/sustain. Its sound as a ride (it’s an 18” crash-ride) has probably suffered more, but I never actually use it for that, save for the ride bits in this demo.
This is -such- a good cover, gonna keep my eyes peeled for that album drop! Subbed!
its awesome how easy you make those fills look like. great stuff dude!
cheeeeeers
ENTUSIASMO! This is great, Roost! I envy your coordination, haha! This cover has great energy!
