Steve Ignorant is a singer/songwriter and co-founded the anarcho-punk band Crass with Penny Rimbaud in 1977. After Crass, he sang with Conflict, Schwartzenegger and Stratford Mercenaries. In 2007 he performed Crass’ entire Feeding of the 5000 album and throughout 2010-2011 presented The Last Supper, touring/celebrating the songs of Crass around the globe.
2013 - 2018 Steve and Paranoid Visions performed together and recorded 2 albums.
Over the years Steve has taken part in many Conferences/Literary Festivals.
Steve Ignorant's Slice Of Life started in 2012 and is still going strong. Musically, the band is built on an acoustic arrangement of piano (Carol Hodge), guitar (Pete Wilson) and bass (Pete Rawlinson).
Steve also performs Crass songs with the Ignorant Band (Carol Hodge - vocals & keys, Jay Bagnall - drums, Pete Rawlinson - bass and Pete Wilson - guitar).

These songs were the soundtrack to my life when i was around 15yo for some years, i'm now 57 and still know the lyrics after so many decades. Crass will always be a part of my life. Top guy! i remember delivering my band's demo for Bullshit 2 with a mate back in '81 (i think....) we travelled far to get to Dial House & after handing the tape to the unknown person who answered the door & was about to close it on us....! we asked for a glass of water as it was a boiling hot day.... suddenly Steve appeared & asked us in for a cup of tea (& cake & biscuits...) we had a great chat & a great laugh & it really made our day! great memories ❤
I missed the original Crass line up by a couple of years. This tour was fantastic for me. The Gizz/Spike combination is always going to be a winner - 2 first class masters of their instruments. Carol is a force of nature & truly amazing. You were good too Igs, obviously like!

Just fantastic, I bought one or two Crass albums when I was 18/19 years old ..a good 30 years ago. Lost my way a bit I feel Ive come back just in the nick of time for me. I love the songs..I love the message. Got some energy back. Got the attitude back.
I sang this in a California Grocery Store last week. Screaming Babies Punk is Green Day to most Jerks in Los Angeles.
The last time saw crass was in 1984. I went to see them a few weeks ago, 40 years later!
