@o00scorpion00o Жыл бұрын
@@DXPedro Was a good easter thanks you ? RTE 252 Khz used to be 500 Kw but last few years it's down to 100 Kw or less. Of course RTE are using Co2 emissions targets as 1 excuse to close the transmitter instead of closing it at night like they used to in the past like many transmitters closed at night. RTE using Co2 as excuse while at the same time encouraging people to use apps that need a data center that uses hundreds of times the energy. Back in the day 252 Khz when at full power used to get reception reports from as far as Brazil. Sad times for Longwave in Europe.
@qwertyamdx Жыл бұрын
@@o00scorpion00o Hundreds of times? I would say it has to be thousands if we consider not only the data centers, but also mobile networks that are used to deliver the data and the smartphones themselves as well. Simple portrable LW radio takes few dozens of miliamps and lasts for decades, while phones rarely last more than 10 years due to software/network/etc "upgrades". Shameful RTE management is using greenwashing and manipulative tactics to justify its wrong decision. If they really cared about the environment and budget, they should use renewables to power the LW transmitter, instead they decided to make their own contribution to the e-waste problem.
@o00scorpion00o Жыл бұрын
@@qwertyamdx Yes, that's s good point, the mobile networks need energy too. + data centres in Dublin, Ireland are forced to use diesel generators at certain peak times, the bigger data centers especially + they run the generators at times for maintenance. RTE have the public brainwashed with Co2 and climate change that they could be fed any story and they'd believe it. If RTE said that very few People listen to LW252 and very few radios, cars have LW then they may have a valid argument but greenwashing is wrong. RTE should have kept the 567 Khz 500 Kw transmitter working because a lot more People would have had MW and still do today in homes and cars. There was no reason RTE had to keep LW 252 going 24x7, they could have easily halved energy consumption by running it from 8am until Midnight.

The British government did not want Ireland on Long Wave They got what they wanted on April 14
Sad news. It’s just brilliant old technology that brings people together and is super useful in case of natural disaster. The more I listen to SW and LW/MW the more I’m into and the more I learn Thanks for watching ✌🏼📻
Hi there DX Pedro my friend, how are your doing ? glad to see the PL-310 ET getting some good use. 🙂 Hard to tell if this is RTE or Algeria in the video but RTE LW 252 Khz will be gone forever from the 14th April 2023
Hey my friend. Hope you had a nice Easter time. To be honest, it sounded a like Argélia was messing with the Irish signal, tbh. I’ve been quite successfully in the past, catching Ireland, but never at this time Of the year or and time of day. Have a nice week. 😎
Nice catch, Mr Pedro👍. But it is difficult to hear in Japan.73s
Thanks for watching! This station will disappear on April 14th, Tengu. 73s
Well caught! 👍73s

Hello!, a query regarding the alarm / alarm clock: is the alarm clock programmed only in "buzzer" mode or can the alarm clock be set to radio mode so that it turns on at a certain time on a certain radio frequency? Thank you so much!. Greetings from Argentina.
Olá Leandro. I have no idea. I assume so, but I haven't really used the timer. Maybe a good idea for my future video. Have a great week and thanks for watching. :)
Qual melhor pra receber FM?
@@Sidney_Gouveia Qual modelo? :)
@@DXPedro Pl 310 et
@@Sidney_Gouveia que maravilha! <3
Sw,am,mw radio mi amor y vida. Igor belevich from belarus.
Thank you IGOR! Same here. Radio still has a lot to go. Have fun, my friend.
Now $6.98
yeah. at the time it was crazy ^^ thanks for watching, Emil.
Ontem chegou o meu.
Thanks for watching 👌🏼
is this rechargeable?
Hi. you can buy separate rechargeable batteries and charge them via the radio. but its advisable to use external charger. 73s and thanks for watching :)
I also like to listen to voice of america on short wave .
Well it could be less biased 😅 but I agree, it’s one of the best out there. Thanks for watching 👌🏼📻
Wow!this is legendary bbc from city of london,uk!
it actually comes from the middle of the atlantic. But i do love the nostalgic feel of BBC on radio :) 73s and thanks for watching! :)
May be,transmitter of bbc in the middle of the atlantic and signal comes from there,but studio of bbc is situated in broadcasting house in city of london,in uk. I can also receive bbc in english in belarus on short wave.
@@user-qg8rd9ge7e absolutely right! :) have a great week!
Advertising gimmick! It wouldn't make sense if a low end SW radio like the D-219 were priced at US$100. For that kind of money you could buy a Tecsun PL-660 or a XHDATA D-808 with plenty of change to spare. 📻😅
amen! but right now its priced bellow 10$ USd. looks solid.
@@DXPedro Hi Pedro, any idea if the D-219 has an analogue or a DSP based tuner? I recently bought an XHDATA D-368 for a family member. It uses a DSP chip so tuning across the dial will mean hearing the "chuffing" sound. If the D-219 has a DSP then it will be the cheapest DSP based shortwave radio ever! 📻👍🏼
@@StratmanII im not sure. i thinbk taht in their video presentation they state is a DSP device. but again, not sure. have a great week my friend.
Hi, do you know where to send a report to voice of turkey forse the qsl card? Thanks
No i do not. sadly. did you find out? 73s and have a great weekend!
Ottimo dx Pedro.... 73. Giuseppe.
Grazie, Giuseppe! have a great weekend! :)
I enjoy my CMiK KK-9 radio, AM has some overlap but no big deal.
mine already stopped working, sadly. thanks for watching, David.
My little radio works great. There is some over lapping on AM. I like this inexpensive radio a lot.
well, i like it too, and yes, it definitely shows some overlapping with AM xD Thanks for watching :)
Great this is stage play very nice and Nostalgia 73s

Not that many receivers will tune to that low frequency.
very true. one of the main reasons i adore this tecsun, tho i think it could go up tp 30mhz. thanks for watching :)
@@DXPedro No, the PL-310ET has a SW frequency range from 2.3-21.95 MHz. I had this radio briefly early this year, didn't like the harsh AGC pumping issue on MW/SW and returned it. With the refunded money I bought a Sihuadon R-108, which has a wider shortwave frequency from 1711-29999 kHz. Other DSP based Tecsun radios that can't go past 21950 kHz include the PL-606, PL-360, PL-380, PL-390 and PL-398MP. I really don't know why Tecsun limited these models' frequency range because their other compact shortwave receivers like the PL-320, PL-330, PL-365 and PL-368 are able to tune up to 30 MHz.
@@StratmanII sadly, I don't know either :\
I didn't know that. Thanks for the information. I will definitely try that on my Tecsun PL. 310ET
Glad I could help!! 🤘🏼😎📻 Thanks for watching
