Videos of my fishing trips around my regular marks on the south coast, and holiday fishing in Norway, clearly I am no expert with a camera, or a computer, but i'm trying to improve, my main problem is I don't have the patience to sit at a computer too long.... anyway I hope you enjoy and can get some sort of use out of them.. cheers. should probably mention , most of the videos contain strong language..... Just keeping it real (TBH i can't be bothered to edit it out).

Now 3 years later and NO FLOUNDER & NO BASS because of all the netting that goes on. Flounder being sold by the netters to lobster and crab pot fishermen for 50p a KG. The authorities do nothing.... More interested in collecting Harbor fees from boat owners........AND its not much better in Poole Bay!!! Very sad!!!!
Great video, I fish outside the harbour normally but know exactly where you are, can I ask whether you where fishing at high or low tide?
It’s a while ago now but I think it was the last few hours of the flood and a bit of the ebb. Cheers
I miss not fishing with Ivan since he retired
regs on taking bass there? Any ideas ? bass are no go for keeping anywhere as spawning i heard. thanks
2 bass per day as is the normal regs but most of the harbour comes under nursery area so is closed for keeping bass apart from 2 months a year with both regs running, same as most harbours on south coast so catch and release for 10 months i think its nov /april only for retaining
@@SuperIdyll thanks
Where is a good place for fishing on the Solent?
Where was you fishing Ray the middle grounds?
Alright Ross, this was bracklesham bay, cheers
@@raysfishingdiary2046 Cheers m8 love the videos proper sea fishing without all the bs
looked like decent session that mate and lovely bass , happy days !
Great video! It looks very cold. What time of year was this?
Thanks kaptaindean, this was in January
Awesome session. And well done for releasing some of those beautiful fish. If I remember 2019 was when we could only keep 1 fish per person per day. So I tip my hat off for respecting the rules and allowing the fish to go back and fight another day. Liked and subbed
be very interested to know what rods you were using ?
Hi guys. Interested to know where you got your bait tray from. Good setup 👌
Hi Gary, thank you for the comment, will have to ask my mate when i get the chance and then ill let you know
Good video and nicely edited to the action pats. what harbour are you based out of if you don't mind me asking?
Hi Dan, thanks for your comment, we fish out of langstone harbour so mainly fish the Solent and the eastern side of the Isle of Wight.
@@raysfishingdiary2046 that's great, I'm out of bembridge and just in the process of picking up a new boat so cant wait to get back in some good marks this side of the island. I will prob make some vids for here too. See you out there I hope.
@@MrDanieljanes look forward to seeing your vids, I agree there are some very good marks this side, only problem is I always seem to forget my camera on the really good days 😩
Great video -- I used to enjoy fishing in Poole when I lived in your neck of the woods, Haven Hotel always gave me a few fish
what a boat ? mariner, warrior ? Please let me know
Hi, thanks for the comment, the boat is a Kruger Beta 2
@@raysfishingdiary2046 raider 18
@@sn00pgreen thanks for that, thought that question was on another video, you’re right, it’s a Raider 👍
Really nice set up you have there and a good mixed bag of fish keeping you busy.
Thanks mate👍
A very nice mixed bag of fish. Good size Whiting and a lovely bass. Well done guys..
Thanks mate👍
Good fishing
Good to see you boys out fishing, good quality times, tidy bass mate well done 👌👍
Thanks Superldyll, maybe you can be on the next one😉
@@raysfishingdiary2046 next year mate were gonna smash it 🎣🎣😁
Cracking vid Ray always good to see you boys out having a go, Hughs boats a beauty
She’s spotless isn’t she, he spends more time cleaning it than fishing on it I think 😂
@@raysfishingdiary2046 ha ha did not see a frying pan but no doubt Hughs got one stowed somewhere tidy
What’s it cost you to launch from there and what do they need from you? Cheers
i think it is just the car park ticket, cant remember how much we paid
£15
@@raysfishingdiary2046 was it easy to launch the raider at baiter pk? I was thinking of launching my raider there but always thought gradient was too shallow?
@@alifamily4509 bring the waders lol, you have to go a fair way out, but it is doable
@@raysfishingdiary2046 cheers mate, you don’t need to unhitch trailer do you?
Either you caught all these fish at the same time, or you ate 6 hotdogs
C Mos probably ate 7😉
Really good video but luckily wasn't watching with my kids (they love fishing videos) because of the language. Sorry won't be watching any more vids because of it. Excellent fishing though.
M Adair 🤣 once your kids are in school, they will have heard worse😉 thanks for your comment though
@@raysfishingdiary2046 still no need to swear so much...very unprofessional.
Andy Jones 😂ok mum, seriously though, this is what the name says, my fishing diary with my mates, if I was doing this seriously like some of these channels(they do a top job by the way) then maybe I would tone it down a bit, in no way do I think I am professional. The worlds gone mad, there’ll be celebrity chefs swearing on proper tv next😉..thanks for the comment though. Cheers
@@raysfishingdiary2046 You swear away chaps - you are all mates on a fucking boat for Christ's sake - If you cannot employ the language in all it's ripe and crass floridity there where pray can you? My boy was taught most 'swear words' as he encountered them - with explanations as to their meanings, etymology and reasonable enunciation. He is sixteen and rarely swears around his Mum and myself.
grown men with strong tackle catching tiny fish, No wonder you call them baby. 25 years ago a 10lb turbot was comparatively common place
May I ask is that the mag 525 or 515 that your using
Fatty Boom boom hello mate, it’s the 525
Well bloody hell ..I switch on and you appear 👍👍great bit of fishing theee boys 🤙🤙🤙❤️🤙
looks like you boys had a blinding day, must be special marks to catch fish like that, or just lucky, look forward to the next vid
SuperIdyll thanks mate, they’re all special marks 👍
@@raysfishingdiary2046 have tried there for years but only caught crabs
@@raysfishingdiary2046 help me out with some marks please
jake lee if only it was that easy 😂my advise would be fish your local patch at all states of tides and work out when the fish come on the feed, over the years I’ve fished marks that are supposed to fish best over high tide, and fished them over Low and found the fishing better. So many people passing on dud advice imo, you’re better off finding out for yourself, good luck
Juat got back from poole habour we fished out in a small boat around the chain ferry we had no bass would love to catch some like but have no idea what part of the habour to fish
Love Whiting great video Subscribed 😁🐟👍
Thanks Martin....
great vid m8
Karl Elkins thanks mate👍
Hi dad
Glorious weather, not the fishing😂
Not at all impressed how the fish were landed , dragging them a long distance over the pebbles rather than landing at the waters edge..
David Barr, point taken, thanks for your comment
If that was near me there would be gill nets everywhere 🤷🏻♂️
Tim Keen thanks for the comment, I’m guessing it must be banned around the Channel Islands. I gotta get back over there, love drifting for turbos
Rays Fishing Diary Oh that’s good that there is a restriction on netting We used to get a run of plaice and odd turbot /brill off of Chichester harbour then a sea of flags and trawling at night
Some fantastic fish that session👍
Iain Bickerstaff thanks mate👍
Great stuff guys! Love the video. I own 18 ft boat as well and consider to launch her in Baiter Park (never used this slipway with 18 footer). As the slipway is very shallow do you find launching easy or rather difficult? Would you be able to launch and recover solo, just on your own? Keep posting!
koolaevah thanks for your comment, that was the first time I’ve fished Poole harbour, launching was straight forward, would have thought launching solo wouldn’t be a problem, but would definitely be easier around high tide
brilliant video mate subbed you :) have a video out myself mate carp fishing in Italy hope you can check it out... im giving away a £50 tackle voucher this month to 1 subscriber :)

I subbed 😥 y dont u care about me dad
Why the fuck are you telling everyone!!
its no secret mate, and tbh, they're everywhere anyway, more bass on the south coast then I can ever remember
I was half joking, but seriously, it amazes me how many locals underestimate what you can catch in the harbour and complain about underwhelming sessions further afield. Best wishes
Great bit of fishing there mate well done! Great soundtrack as well. What bait were you using ?
Dave B thanks mate, was using frozen blacks tipped with squid
Great video I really enjoyed watching it! If you get a moment go have a look at my recent videos.

Great shot..amazing content you have. Check out my page and follow if you please. Regards from Borneo..😎
Hi, im off to the same resort next year. Just out intrest what size rods you take ?? Ive been told a 20/30lb would be ideal
Hi 20/30lb is the heaviest you want to go, I was using that mainly with a deadbait on the end hoping for a monster halibut, however I preferred using the 12/20 penn rampage, just makes the whole thing more comfortable and its plenty strong enough to land anything really, just take your time if you get a really big one, in the Vid, the first halibut was caught on a spinning rod. you definitely want to take one of those for the coalies..good luck, it can be amazing there, it can also be hard work too, just look for the baitfish shoals and fish though them - not with pirks though as you will just hook the baitfish, either drift deadbaits through them, or use the large shads. if you don't see any baitfish on the sounder, its 9 times out of 10 the fishing will be pretty poor, so move on to the next mark
My mistake, the spinning rod was used for a halibut that was lost at the side of the boat due to a bit of dodgy gaffing (so didn’t want to include it in the vid)
Thanks for the reply, thats really helpfull advice. I actually own a penn 12/20 rampage so I think ille just take that and invest in a quality travel spinning rod.
1977fuzzedup no problem, I will say however, if you plan to use the really big shads you might find a 20/30 more suitable, we only used the 150g savage gear Sandeels or the cut baits around 250/300g ( can’t remember the exact weights) we like to try and fish as light as we can as it can be really hard work working big pirks and shads all day (which also makes deadbaiting a whole lot more appealing) why not take both, we all tend to take 3 rods, a spinning rod, a light ish rod and a heavy one
- Haha. 03:16 - Proper sea angler picture. Looks like you had a cracking trip with some proper slabs, and a few tubs thrown in. Nice. I've started doing some fishing vids to, check them out if you have chance. Please sub if you like them. :D

I'm going with Ivan tomorrow, and were going on the shambles bank, I'm going down the stone pier to get a few Garfish for bait in an hour
David Storton good luck mate, hope you find some fish. I’m out with Ivan in May wrecking next
It's a bit of a hike over that shingle hump, I live in Weymouth and don't go there any more
David Storton it is Dave, but it’s definitely worth it, I’m recovering from a knee op at the moment but plan to go back as soon as I can
I have two bad knees and a bad ankle, I avoid it like a dose of the clap mate
