Videos of my fishing trips around my regular marks on the south coast, and holiday fishing in Norway, clearly I am no expert with a camera, or a computer, but i'm trying to improve, my main problem is I don't have the patience to sit at a computer too long.... anyway I hope you enjoy and can get some sort of use out of them.. cheers. should probably mention , most of the videos contain strong language..... Just keeping it real (TBH i can't be bothered to edit it out).

    Now 3 years later and NO FLOUNDER & NO BASS because of all the netting that goes on. Flounder being sold by the netters to lobster and crab pot fishermen for 50p a KG. The authorities do nothing.... More interested in collecting Harbor fees from boat owners........AND its not much better in Poole Bay!!! Very sad!!!!

    2 bass per day as is the normal regs but most of the harbour comes under nursery area so is closed for keeping bass apart from 2 months a year with both regs running, same as most harbours on south coast so catch and release for 10 months i think its nov /april only for retaining

So many people passing on dud advice imo, you’re better off finding out for yourself, good luck

    Hi, im off to the same resort next year. Just out intrest what size rods you take ?? Ive been told a 20/30lb would be ideal

  • @raysfishingdiary2046
    @raysfishingdiary20465 жыл бұрын

    Hi 20/30lb is the heaviest you want to go, I was using that mainly with a deadbait on the end hoping for a monster halibut, however I preferred using the 12/20 penn rampage, just makes the whole thing more comfortable and its plenty strong enough to land anything really, just take your time if you get a really big one, in the Vid, the first halibut was caught on a spinning rod. you definitely want to take one of those for the coalies..good luck, it can be amazing there, it can also be hard work too, just look for the baitfish shoals and fish though them - not with pirks though as you will just hook the baitfish, either drift deadbaits through them, or use the large shads. if you don't see any baitfish on the sounder, its 9 times out of 10 the fishing will be pretty poor, so move on to the next mark

  • @raysfishingdiary2046
    @raysfishingdiary20465 жыл бұрын

    My mistake, the spinning rod was used for a halibut that was lost at the side of the boat due to a bit of dodgy gaffing (so didn’t want to include it in the vid)

  • @1977fuzzedup
    @1977fuzzedup5 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the reply, thats really helpfull advice. I actually own a penn 12/20 rampage so I think ille just take that and invest in a quality travel spinning rod.

  • @raysfishingdiary2046
    @raysfishingdiary20465 жыл бұрын

    1977fuzzedup no problem, I will say however, if you plan to use the really big shads you might find a 20/30 more suitable, we only used the 150g savage gear Sandeels or the cut baits around 250/300g ( can’t remember the exact weights) we like to try and fish as light as we can as it can be really hard work working big pirks and shads all day (which also makes deadbaiting a whole lot more appealing) why not take both, we all tend to take 3 rods, a spinning rod, a light ish rod and a heavy one
