We’re having a new Sacrarium built in our church Sacristy, so this video that showed up is quite timely. Well presented and explained, Father. And I especially liked the statement you made how the protocols followed with the Sacrarium is a reflection of our Faith.

Thank you Father Vaccaro for the teachings, especially to that of our universal church. May those holy martyrs pray for us and the unity of all mankind under Jesus Christ. I sometimes attend mass said in Vietnamese, I dont understand a lick of the language being spoken but the mass and its Holy sacrifice is present to all. When they sing the Act of Contrition it is absolutely beautiful. May the Peace of Christ be with all of our Vietnamese brothers and sisters.

Has Blessed Chiara Badano become SSSSSSaint?; my grandaughter Alice wants St. Chiara for her patron saint at Confirmation. Alice already visits the elder to bring the Eucharist, her mom and dad lost a baby boy at birth; I believe St. Chiara spoke to Alice at Mass and left her the message for her mom, Mum, be happy because I am happy. Our pastor must approve of this little, young but faithful saint in Love with her faith. St. Chiara pray for Alice May

This was my parish when I was a child until I became an adult and moved away. I was so sad when a very kind hearted Pastor died in the late 1980's early 1990's. I am ashamed I do not remember his name but I remember sittng in the pews at the viewing and mass crying because we lost him. Seeing the altar brings back memories so long ago when I my parents were both alive and I was protected by their love.

Sadly the vestments of the Extraordinary Mass seem 'out of fashion'. The priest in that most holy form of Mass additionally wears a maniple & he crosses the stole over his breast signifying the cross of Christ. The EF of Mass has much more symbolism than the OF & even though the actions of the priest are mostly hidden it does represent that we are all praying to God together & not (as in the OF Mass) just getting together in a bunch which looks (IMHO) more like a chat among friends than all of us turning towards God together. couldn't agree more. I'm definitely gonna pick up a few of these books mentioned. I was already interested in the two theology books by Frank Sheed that he brought up, so this just helped solidify that decision, but I'm definitely gonna look into Catholicism for Dummies, and This is Our Faith. I already have the Catechism and am even going through the Catechism in a Year Podcast with Fr. Mike Schmitz which is phenomenal, but give just how much information is packed into the Catechism, I'd love to have absorb it all in different ways. I've already started another Catechism podcast now that I'm caught up on Fr. Mike's, and I'm sure i'll be doing plenty of re-listening to both, as well as reading the Catechism on my own time. Definitely nice to have stuff written more in layman's terms with further explanations too. the Catechism truly is an impressive piece of work.

Utter tripe. The local Parish Priest in my local Church rocks up about 2 minutes before Mass..He couldn't possibly or conceivably say this rubric and dress at the same time, before appearing on the Altar....

Thank you Father Hayes - I come back to this series every year as a refresher before CCD classes start up and then again later in the year. I use the lessons you provide and share it with the Kindergarten CCD class. I and my co-lead use this particular episode to guide our lesson as we cover 'the Church is Good' chapter. It is a wonderful presentation - you are a great teacher. Many thanks for all you do!

why do some priests wear the stole outside the chasuble? why do some stoles have one panel at the back as well as the two at the front? why do some priests just wear a stole at mass instead of a stole with the chasuble?

The use of vestments is also meant to create a level of anonymity of the individuality of the minister. The priest does not function in his own personal individual capacity but also in the person of Christ.

The corporal shouldn't be flipped over like that when folding. If crumbles or particles of the Eucharist fall onto the corporal then it means that you are throwing it away or discarding it from the corporal by flipping it over. It's common sense theology.
