I have been playing TTYD on the Switch, and I finally did the Pit of 100 Trials on the Switch last night and finally beat Bonetail. This is the first time I finally beat Bonetail and did the Pit of 100 Trials on either version and it is useful on the switch. I learned that the best way to beat Bonetail is to charge Mario multiple times and even one of his partners and bring 2 power punch items for Mario and his partner so that they can deal a ton of damage to Bonetail. Make sure you equip Feeling Fine Badges for both Mario and his Partner.

I did the whole pit first try. The pit of a hundred trials is, from what i've deduced -- an endurance test. I mixed and matched diffrent badges, utilized ALLL my partners, got TWO Amazy Dayzees, it was absolutely wild. I FINISHED the main game, just jumped right into this, played all night, and got this all first try. Now, as I said, I mixed and matched several badges, but here's the ones I ALWAYS had on. HP plus badges, FP plus badges, HP partner badges, charge badge, charge partner badge, quick change, feeling fine, feeling fine P, and lucky day was really useful once I got it. Bonetail is a direct reflection of the pit itself, you have to endure against Bonetail's attacks and just keep chipping away, all it took was using spring jumps and Bobbery's basic bomb attack, some charging here and there, and using showstopper like twice, to prevail, of course you have to ABSOLUTELY keep your guard up. Items? Get like 6 Ultra Shrooms, 6 Jammin Jellies, and the rest in Life Shrooms. Make sure to get a SPECIAL Spell from Merluvlee, trust me, you'll need it. And uh, honest to god. Bonetail is nowhere near as hard as Shadow Queen, lmao. If you manage to get there with full hp and fp, you should be fine, like i did. Shadow Queen? You literally GET full health, fp, everything and she STILL had me struggling on.

FINALLY beat this on Gold. Posting some tips here in case, like me, you were searching online for ANY information to pull this off. 1. You definitely need to do at least 2 of the 3 Bond moments, but probably all 3 (I completed with a score of 462,224 so I wouldn’t have passed the 450k cut-off without the third Bond moment giving me an additional 20,000 pts.) 2. Make sure to use up all your sleeper darts, and try to use a shotgun where possible for the rest. This gives you a favorable weapon efficiency since you’ll be close to a 1 shot/kill ratio. 3. You can kill 2 or 3 guards after entering the warehouse area, but should quickly switch to the Nano suit to move through the open area undetected (try to stay crouched). 4. After doing the final bond moment shooting down the crate, use the strobe to get through the bad guys without turning it into a big firefight. 5. The rest of the level should be free of any enemies (none will spawn) and you can go straight to the Diavolo boss fight. 6. It’s possible to get Gold killing just 28 enemies. Weapon efficiency is pretty key in pulling off this Gold (even more so than accuracy).
