Electro Beats - Synth, sampler, drum machine and guitar exploration. Techno, Lo-Fi, House, blues and ambient instrumental randomness. I enjoy an eclectic mix.
New channel for 2022 - looking to start off with a strong #Jamuary getting as many live jams published as possible to help progress and learn the set up, with a view to releasing an EP later in 22.

Hey! Quick question: For what do you use the circuit (like drums or something else) and can you connect it to the force. Thanks!
my tr6s keeps triggering all my plugin program's, drum program, keygroup program etc. I want it to stay in one program so I can record it's frustrating 😢 any help
Thanks. I usually use a 5 pin midi cable (out from MPC and into SH4D) however, I think the usb cable would also work as it transmits midi. It’s a great combo and the SH4D sounds great and offers ‘hands on’ control whilst the MPC is a great ‘brain’
Nice jam! How do you sequence the SH4d using the MPC? Do you use two midi cables or is the SH4d usb cable enough?
keep it up 👍
got me lost in!
I just bought the MPC One Plus 2 weeks ago and I'm considering the SH4D. Perfect video. Plus I do Synthwave
They pair really well. The SH4D sounds great but is slightly limited by its sequencer (which is ok but not great) luckily the MPC is a rock solid and really powerful midi sequencer and it’s really straightforward to set it up to sequence 4/5 tracks from the Roland. Really great pair.
@@electrobeats6449 thanks for responding. I'd literally be using the Roland as a sound module
I like this.
Thanks! 🙏
Can the Force be used for Frippertronics?
nice mate got pretty much the same set up :)
😁👍 🤯
Great work
Thats a dobro
Is the force for producing dubstep?
It can do dubstep, it can do anything really, it’s pretty much a blank canvas to be honest, you can do anything with it.
what did you use to connect them
Just over midi. 5 pin midi cable to adaptor into the midi mini jack.
Awesome! Im planning on buying both machines! Very nice to see you jamming om them :)🎉
They are a great pair!
🔥💪🏼🤘🏻🌮🫡
yo bro
Whats the geetar plugged into? Sp404?
No, it’s plugged into a boss GX-1000 (out of shot under the desk) and then stereo out of that direct into the rc505mk2. I could have just as easily taken the input into the sp404 though. The SP actually has some pretty cool amp sims so more than possible to run guitar direct into that.
👍👍
happy 404 day!! 😄
Why is no one posting Tr8s videos anymore?
You are right, I’ve not seen many recently. I haven’t played mine much as I’ve moved towards a slightly different musical style. I might get it out this weekend and record a quick jam though!!!
Your style is so unique! Congrats great track!
Wow! That was incredible!
Thanks, much appreciated!
Very nice! I have the same Equipment, really interested in your routing, would be cool if you can share a bit about it!
Thanks. I don’t have the Lyra or the Hydrasynth anymore but I do miss them both from time to time. For this the Lyra 8 goes into the TR8S audio in (so I can apply the TR8S side chain effect), stereo out of the TR8S into the mixer. The Hydrasynth stereo out also goes direct into the mixer and then the output is recorded. Think I also have the midi out from the TR8s into midi into the hydrasynth just to sync the arp etc. it worked really well and is a great techno and ambient set up.
This is fantastic, @electrobeats6449! I was playing around with a slide as well, but haven't recorded anything yet. I'm curious, how are you recording these live jam sessions with your audio input and video?
Thanks, I have a IoS equipped audio interface (UA volt series) it’s great. The output from my looper (which I route all the instruments though) goes straight into that, and then the at has a usb out which I can take direct into my iPhone and records the audio and the video. Works great.
Hi,can maschine power it?
Hi, sorry I don’t have this gear anymore so can’t check. I know that the MPC one can power the SH4d and would guess the M+ can but can’t confirm
How do you sync these? Circuit does have Ableton Link?
No, just via 5 pin midi. The Maschine is the master and sends midi start/stop and sync to the circuit.
Can you explain the connecting of the Maschine and 505, I have a Maschine and I am thinking of buying a 505
I love the 505!! It’s quite simple as I recall in the is jam. The 505 is the master and I running the audio from the Maschine and the SP404mk2 (out of shot) into the audio inputs on the 505 (it has 2 sets of stereo inputs and x2 xlr inputs). I am then runnning midi out from the 505 into the Maschine so that it clocks together for FX sync etc. The 505 then hears all of the audio from the Maschine and the SP and it able to loop any of it at the push of a button. It’s awesome of you want to just jam out loops on the fly!
@@electrobeats6449thanks so much for the reply, I ended up getting an Arturia Minifreak😅 but the 505 is still on the list. I’m trying to create an ultimate dawless setup to jam at home! This reply will be saved. I always have trouble with the connecting and midi…still learning
@@WillieCarpenter17 good shout with the minifreak. I am interested in getting one of those, it would work really well with the looper. Enjoy it!
Thanks for the demo, I'll try to pair my Lyra and PT too :) Also, thanks for the message, cheers from Ukraine!
???????????!!
Hi there. Is the 404 mk2 midi slave to the Akai Force master clock??? Wondering if the 404 samples adjusts their BPM with the external clock or not.... this question is killing me, and after sifting through hundreds of 404 mk2 videos, this one is the first that actually seems to be helping me understand how it works. Ty for the vid.
Hi, thanks for the question, it’s a good one! The 404 is slaved to the force here which was the master clock. I wasn’t sure myself how the sample behaviour worked, but I’ve just tried it out. There is a button on the SP404mk2 called BPM sync. When selected (it is on a per sample basis) the sample follows the BPM of the project. So if the 404 is synced to another device the sample will follow that tempo. It does change the pitch of the sample (though I think you can change the settings so it only affects the speed). Also you don’t see any indication of the change in the display which retains the BPM number the sample was recorded at. So I could record a drum loop at 90bpm, sync the SP to another Maschine (like the Force) and set the tempo to 160bpm on the force, Sync the devices over midi and the drum loop that was recorded at 90 would loop at 160, as long as the ‘BPM sync’ button is turned on. The display in the 404 would still read 90 though. Hope that helps and makes sense!!
J'ai rarement vu quelqu'un avoir autant de matériel chez lui ! Bonne zik !!
burns it!
That’s 🔥!!!
Thanks!!
Awesome final Jamuary I have really enjoyed your contributions this year and I hope you have a great 2024! 👋😄
Dope setup, I would say work on beat structure the melody works but the drums it sounds random kinda
strong beat 😄it's been a fun Jamuary glad you were part of it 👍
Thanks man, yeah it’s been good fun, and same goes for you!
It’s nice, just wish it could be mangled a bit more… bit safe sounding, would need other fx. Very decent price tho, and looks fun.
True - you do need some external fx to really mould or shape the sound/get wild with it. I don’t mind that too much though, esp given the price. I’ve actually just got another one after having moved away from this and really enjoying using it. The synth sounds are great
sorry you have been ill, get well soon! That's a lot of parts from that box!
Hahaha I love it al ❤️😍
Thanks! It was fun to jam!
Nice. I feel like you could have added one more layer. Some sort of solo or melody on top with some kinda piano/keyboard.
Sick setup! Mad as bro!
Thanks!
I was wondering how this exact setup would do dnb. 👍👍👍👍💀💀💀💀
It works pretty well!
808 baby!! 😆👍
epic
Thanks!!
that is a very nice setup, cracking tuneage as well :)
Thanks, yeah-they are fun maschines!
funky synth jam 😄🎸
which box do you enjoy more, the mpc one or the force? Which is easier to get a beat going (composing)?
This the a great question and one I am really struggling to answer. I like them both for different reasons. Ideally I would only like to keep and use one, but I can’t decide which!! The MPC is definitely easier to use and probably quicker to get ideas going. It’s also more portable and I prefer the overall size and drumming on the larger pads. However the Force keeps bringing me back, it’s more complicated but much more flexible. It has some really great features that the MPC lacks (clip launching, different length clips, audio direct to pads, the amazing macros and and crossfader, the mixer screen is better than the MPC, more in’s and outs (though I hate the fact on something this big there are no 5 pin midi sockets - seriously Akai-WTF!!) and the 64 pads are better for melodic instruments. Having written all that it seems like the Force should win hands down, it is so much deeper (though is also double the price of the MPC one nearly)… however there is something about the MPC that draws me in as well. Maybe it is just the history etc but it feels more tactile than the force and less sterile. None of that is a ‘real’ it’s far more feeling based. Sorry for the ramble! In short, I can’t answer! The MPC is quicker and easier to get things going, however, it’s good at what it does and not more than that. The Force is deeper and can do pretty much exactly that the MPC can, but can also do a hundred other things.
@electrobeats6449 I found an akai force near me for $600. I'll jump on it if the guy can do $500. Maybe I'll use the rest for a simplet sketch pad like the circuit tracks. Thanks for the detailed response, it helps a lot.
@@MarianoPerez even for 600 that is a steal. For that price it’s amazing. Like you say you can just use it as a super capable circuit, or even just a decent multitimbral synth
The best one I’ve heard.
Thanks, appreciate it! It was fun to jam with!
