Лучшая версия "Войны и мира". И неважно кто снял этот фильм и куда Наташа кладет руку. Потрясающая игра актеров. Музыка! Настолько прекрасный фильм, что все шесть серий смотрятся на одном дыхании! Просто шедевр!

The character Ava played mirrored her private life exactly. She slept with so many married men during her life and thought nothing of it, starting with Sinatra. She ended up a sad, unmarried, childless alcoholic

"Your god, or mine?" (2:45) It's the same god!! Originally known to the Jews as Yahweh (although they were forbidden from speaking the name aloud), later called Jehovah by Christians and later still Allah by Muslims - plus lots of other names or titles in various times and places. BTW, the meeting shown here never actually happened (although the two did exchange letters). Even if it had, there would have had to be interpreters present as well - Gordon apparently spoke and understood Arabic, but not to a level sufficient for him to hold deep(ish) philosophical discussions of this kind.

No matter how many times I watch this, it always makes me tear up from how beautiful and charming it is. Young love is always powerful no matter how fleeting it is at the end. They say you always remember your first. Based on how it ended, Natasha will always remember this beautiful moment

This edit is divine. Immaculate. Top notch editing. Opening with the dialogue "what do you want" and implying Art wants Patrick ugh I can't even. I love so much the visual parallels you have of Art and Patrik nearly kissing, over the dialogue “i really wanna kiss you right now.” Your parallels and pacing is so brilliant! I love you matching the clips to the music. Liked and subbed <3

One of my favorite scenes of all time. This film is in my DNA. From the first shot to the last. But this scene cast a spell on me as a young gay man in the midst of my first romance. The spell has never gone away. After watching it myself initially not long after he and I met, I told him he had to see it. And I specifically told him there was one scene he was going to love but I wasn’t going to tell him what it was. Because oddly enough he and I had met in an eerily similar setting just a bit more modern. It was a teen club that had a section for pool tables. He lived 40 minutes away from me so our dates were scheduled and timed very meticulously for two teenage boys. Haha. I graduated high school early and he had a pretty lax morning schedule on certain week days so he came over early one morning after my parents went to work. We laid down on the floor and hit play. I was always big spoon. So as he’s watching, I’m watching too but I’m also watching the side of his face as he takes it all in. I could feel his face move when I laid my head against his. All at the same moments I enjoyed. But when this scene came I pulled my head away from his so I could see his reaction and right after Clift’s uncle walks in my boyfriend, Parker, turned around. He looked at me and, he was not an emotional person, in fact he still is not to this day 20 years later. But he had tears in his eyes. And he just nodded at me like, was that it? I nodded back. And I’ll never forget it, I said “You’re my blue boy”. He smiled and rolled closer, and like I said he was not emotional or very affectionate as far as kissing was concerned. But he put his hands on my face and kissed me in such a way that I’ve never forgotten it. 20 years later. Sorry for the long comment but this is really special to me. I don’t have kids so I don’t really have anyone to share this part of my story with. So I’ll just leave it here where it will never be seen. Haha ❤
