Is there any real difference between the old cla-10a and the new "active" ones? Don't the old ones have the knob to adjust high frequency too?
The difference between the original CLA-10A and the CLA-10 Active is strictly cosmetic.
Who is the distributor in india of the cla's? do tell cuz can't find on your website

Why don't you make them vertical? It's much better for the phase alignment between woofer and tweeter - and less midrange dip (when moving listening postion from side to side) than when they're horizontal. And how many people have an analog mixing desk these days? It makes MUCH more sense to make speakers that take up less desk real-estate.
We hear you! We get that the CLA-10As might not be for everybody... that's why we've got some other monitor options as well. Avantone is definitely a well kept secret!
Tell your friends! It doesn't have to be a secret! :D

so just listening through this, it sounds like there is more lively character in the original...but the BLA is very smoothed out, transients, S's, its a much more linear sound volume and frequency wise. both serve their purposes but for rock vocals and such i think the original would be better where any other source the BLA would probably win out in a shoot out
Do you track with your high pass filter on ?
I can't help but feel these speakers are a little underrated! Bought them without hearing them to replace my old active Tannoy Reveals, so took quite a risk... but I am very - very pleased with the sound! They aren't fatiguing at all, sound very spacious and warm - I use mainly analogue equipment so that definitely contributes to the warmth ;) The price is so good! Highly recommended, thanks Avantone!
Wow, thanks so much for the kind words - really appreciate this!
I think the original sounds better!
god, i want this..! is the price for one mic or for the whole kit? greetings from Europe.
I wish I could buy those cabinets.
North American Black Walnut looks great, right?
@@AvantonePro Why are they called BLACK walnut?
Because the wood is darker than that of other walnut trees. www.almanac.com/black-walnut-trees
I just bought it but I’m not understanding how to connect it please
Avantone chingon🎉🎉
¡Gracias!
Nice mic..
Just got a pair. I like them more than my Ns10’s
Right on! Thanks for choosing us!
If the point of these monitors is their midrange, why did you pick that song ? The active has a control for filtering the tweeter, curious why you didn’t demo that? FF eq may show same line, but I thought cla sounded more raucous in high end , so there were differences in the sound quality. But, you understand why cigarette papers were draped over the tweeters!:) thx.
Hello! Is possible to use this amp with JBL 4311b and a Bozak AR4 mixer? Thank you
Awesome

Auch für Rap ?
Erster!
How come you guys said.. It sounds the same.. Its not the same at all CLA is brighter, a bit harsh, hi freq sharper and a bit artificial
Most classic white cone speakers are quite old at this point and many have understandably dulled with time. The CLA-10As feature a VTPC control that lets you adjust the high-frequencies to suit your taste.
@@AvantonePro Ah i see.. your argue seems make sense
Finally a more detailed review about this monitors. Thanks Philip. With what monitors would you compare this, for the same price range?
Probably HS7
@@V.Philly Thanks for your honest opinion, i have heard other people say the same thing.
How do i connect these? , they just have 2 holes in the back
Hey there - the CLA10s are passive monitors that require a power amplifier like the CLA-200. These can accept either bare wire or banana plugs. Here's a GREAT video on how to connect passive monitors to your interface and amplifier! kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z6uiqa2fqKa2hJc.html
Hey im actually scared😭 i ordered these and neither of them have what his has in the back , it only has the 2 holes in it
Hey there - the CLA10 monitors are available in two types - passive (CLA10) and active (CLA10A.) The passive CLA10s require a power amplifier, the active CLA10As have the power amp built-in. The look so much like an NS-10T pair! Which, to my ears, works better than the NS-10M model
That's the idea!
i need cla10s D:
Just beautiful again, it s an amazing singing and the microphone the same level. Top quality, i love it! I`m really think to purchase one. CV12. ❤
Thank you very much!
Beautiful music, perfect sound! ❤
So snazzy! Reminds me of those amazing Acoustic Research speakers from the 1970s. Pair these with a CLA-200 amp-with those classy VU meters-and you'll have yourself one heck of a monitoring system. As usual, Avantone nails the sound _and_ the looks everyone wants but nobody makes anymore; keep 'em coming!
Thanks! Don't forget, the CLA-10As are active, so please do not connect them to a power amp. :) We also have the CLA-10, which is passive and intended for use with the CLA-200 amp. (And the classy VU meters.)
Cv12 sounds sometimes to nasly
are these all round mixing monitors? or like th ns 10 theyr for referencing
All-around! If you're into NS10s, check out our CLA-10A. avantonepro.com/en/products/cla-10a
I use mine daily ❤️
Can I use this speakers horizontal?
Yes but the sweet spot will be slightly narrower than when oriented vertically.
@@AvantonePro thank you for your response . I bought these monitors and I absolutely love them! great sound, classic look, standby option is great! best monitors under $1000 if not more!:) great job! keep it up

Great song and recording, but was hoping to hear this mic in stereo.
It’s a great mic, but this guy would probably sound good recorded through anything. Very talented
Gorgeous
These are supposedly 200 watts per channel, and designed for the NS10s and clones out there.. so can any one tell me why their meters don’t even wiggle until maxed out and even then they barely wiggle? I contacted avatone and guess what they said… they said they would move correctly with much larger speakers.. for real. Well why are they selling this with the NS10s?? And what “larger” speakers are they referring too that are 200w 8ohms? Seems like BS to me and they just slapped the CLA on the smallest amps they had and rolled with it. They are in fact NOT designed for the NS10s or any speakers like them. Hell I’m powering ATC SCM12s AND 20s with my ClA-200, and the meters still don’t move until dimed and again barely wiggle. Pointless if u ask me. Amp does sound perfectly fine though, is quiet and nice for my room temp in the winter months ☺️
Ive seen this with wattage meters before. It makes sense that they would barely move as the Cla200 has wattage meters not vu meters. vu meters measure amount of signal while wattage meters measure the amount of headroom left to the amp in watts. Ns10's use a tiny amount of wattage to be loud, something like 1 watt or so while the cla200 looks like it provides about 200 watts or so when driving a NS10. I once racked a set of wattage meters between my NS10s and my Bryston 4B (possibly the most popular amp ever used with ns10s) and it was the same thing... the meters just barely moved. when I switched over to my studio mains, the meters were slapping back and forth like windshield wipers. You want the amp to be capable of providing plenty of headroom. The meters are reflecting exactly that in my opinion.
I just got mine. Is the crinkling noise normal when you put them on or put pressure on the earpads? Even though they sound great I'am getting flashbacks from the horrible QC of the first revision ...
This noise is normal, the drivers are made of an ultra-light, ultra-thin material that is less than the thickness of a human hair. When you are putting them on or taking them off, the air pressure change is enough to push or pull the driver. It's similar to pushing your hand on a speaker driver and pushing it in slightly. Once the crinkling noise stops as soon as the headphones are put on or taken off, the pressure on both sides of the driver has normalized and they have settled.
@@AvantonePro Thanks for the explanation. I was just taken aback by it since I had 2 different pairs of the first generations that did not display this behaviour. They had other problems though. One of the head band "arms" broke on the first one and the second one I got as a replacement had close to no bass and what I can only assume to be some kind of spikes or resonances in the higher frequencies which made it pretty much unlistenable (not trying to be daramatic here - it actually caused me physical discomfort after listening to it for some time). New one sounds great.
Why are you swapping from mic to mic? They both sound the same to me!
If you listen back on a higher end system you can hear smoother highs and also a tighter and warmer low end I think.
@@lucaverheyden maybe but I doubt you’d notice it in a mix.
@@officialWWM Yeah especially after some EQing. But I think they both sound great. The CV-12 is really good for it's price.
I'm basshead and not so wealthy as to buy lcd-4, also not such thick neck to hold them on head long, I also fell in love with Avantone industrial design. If there was a planar for basshead audiophile, I wouldn't mind some weight tho 😂 I also love thicc bass as we don't hear a bass range well, unlike high end.
Needs a '12' capsule to shine just like the Rode NTK. I was under the impression BLA replaced the transformer as well? The Avantone CV 12 would not need BLA or micparts for an upgrade if they had zeroed in on what a mic's true purpose is and made it a cardioid only mic with no fancy wood box or aluminum flight case and put the money into the mic and P.S.U. As of 10-1-23 this mic new is going for 400.00. One hundred less than before. A good deal? Quite rightly if you plan on doing the upgrade yourself.
I own the original planar pro (red) and would love to know if there's any sonic difference on this new model. I find the planar pro comfortable and very good for mixing but slightly dull on the upper register (been now using more the Neumann ndh-30). does this new model has a different voicing?
There is a reply from Avantone in this comments section. They say that there are no sonic differences, only weight and cable are different. Which is great news, as for me personally
@IgorBagayev hey, thanks for letting me know! hmm... i like the avantones, but i'm getting better results with the neumann...
@@themastroiannis I just got the planar 2 and can confirm unfortunately it is quite muffled in the upper midrange specifically around 4khz like an audeze but whats bothering me is the honkiness/shoutiness around 1khz it can make piano sound painful at times as well as some vocals that are already forward in the song.
hey, thanks for letting us know! i have now sold my Neumanns and gone back to my trusted (for me) Sennheiser HD600. maybe HEDD headphones or Audeze mm-500 are worth checking out...but expensive!!@@Jordonater
